Chapter 635: 9.18.3 Susano.
Killing these was easy for Vance, who was Injured prior by his Master, and then the following intervention of Malidi didn’t do anyone any good.
It felt like the fate was against them. The world didn’t just want to end them, but it wanted to torture them as well.
Giving hope and retaking them. It all felt so wrong. "Malidi that bastard," I spoke, as a red figure took form from the vapors of Rosso’s blood, a figure that had a happy mask as well as the frills of a jester.
"You were alive?" And Vance, he didn’t seem that surprised by my appearance, it would seem that both he and Alabasta had long been suspicious of the apparent death of the rat. Well, what can I say, I am hard to kill no matter what. "But this is your end, so don’t struggle." He spoke, looking at the Vapor incapable of speech.
And though I might be incapable of it, I still had certain means to affect the situation. Which I did at this point. What appeared as an explosion, my body turned into smoke spreading to the whole direction while being absorbed into the earth.
Causing some corpses to rise one by one, most of them barely bones, but using the talent of the Bloodhearts, I added a spunk of my own to the mix. "Enjoy these insects." The bodies that reached this place were not weak, which can be seen in how the bones of the majority of these people still remained fresh and carried remnant thoughts within them.
And all I did was boost that aspect of spirituality with my mastery over the occult, and then added a pinch of Curse power of Pain, causing these remnant spirits to wake up from their slumber.
"You, what have you done?" Looking around, Vance saw a bunch of bodies that in front of his eyes grew out of flesh and insect carapaces right in front of his eyes. Mimicking necromancy to a certain extent.
But there was no magic to speak of, nor was there any hint of Curse energy, so how?
How did these beings stand up? Why did they appear as giant humanoid insects?
This places Vance in a dilemma, these beings, grow at a fast pace, and it won’t be long before their whole body is complete with reconstruction, which is when it would be his turn. But he can’t move away from here, he needs to burn this pool of blood from which Rosso will rise, he needs to end it right here and right now.
But it would seem such thoughts of his became his unbecoming. One of these fingers with a sickle-like arm struck Vance, clashing on his armor and leaving a small blood mark that suddenly caught fire on its own, a sign that this injury was not simple. ’Bloodflower.’ This blood awakened these undead, they were not just simple undead but carried the infection capabilities of the Blood Flower Fiend.
However, the worst part of it all would be the fact that these newborn insectoids undead were capable of harming him.
"Shit." And it was due to such reasons, that he was forced off and focused on the insectoids that were still not formed completely while ignoring the ones that pursued him. Priority was given to the weak ones and only when he ends them can he focus on the completed ones.
But it would seem that he looked down on these monsters a bit too much. These things, while being undead were far faster than Vance expected, striking him from behind again, but with him ready this time, Vance parried the attack while taking out a revolver from his belt and then shooting at one of those insectoids, considering he won’t be able to make it in time.
A bullet succeeded in piercing the skull of one of these monsters, but that’s all it did, as the being abandoned the burning skull and reformed itself just through the spine into a weird worm-like creature.
"What are these?" This was the first time Vance had ever seen such abominations. Among all the undeads he had seen, these were the oddest in his eyes. Well, not like I don’t understand him, the world of spirits and undead is far more bizarre than one can accept, and my being one gives me an advantage in this subject over others.
It’s how I was able to divide my souls so much, spreading them far apart and keeping multiple backups just in case.
Including the one I had given to Malidi that did make use of me a lot, but this part of my soul was detached from my true body, making me free from the effects of whatever game Emotion played. Sadly this also meant I was ignorant of the tricks he pulled and the fact that my main body had fallen.
Well, that was until the message and the subsequent plans that Malidi made, including leaving me in the world that recreated my arrival.
This might seem farfetched considering the chances of me encountering my other part were far lower considering how many flowers exist in this world, but Malidi was sure that my other clone would come through that place, and it worked, I was able to combine with it and play the little game of ignorance with the other bunch like before.
Which brings me to the current point.
"Creator, you... saved me?" I spoke to Rosso as his body reformed next to me. Currently, only he was capable of seeing me. "I can’t let harm come to my children," I spoke, looking at him who remained there naked and confused over the current scene where Vance fought for his life against these insect monsters whose number climbed from two to six in an instant. Which surprised Rosso. "What are these?... how are they able to possess so much strength?" These beings were made of his blood and curses, Rosso can see this in an instant.
But that’s where the issue arose, how are these things capable of movement and this strength? Well, the answer to it is obvious.
"Do you know, wraiths are not the only spiritual beings in this world, and not all of them are born of the dead." Wraiths are fallen souls that refuse to enter the cycle of reincarnation, while ghosts and possessed objects are somewhat different than wraiths.
Some of them are capable of speech, even showing their thoughts to those who would meet or possess them.
Are they also the ones who refused to reincarnate? Of course not, these are nothing more than remnant souls, you can even consider them a clone like me. Though unlike me, the original soul of these remnant spirits had long entered the cycle of reincarnation.
Generally, all the dead possess a trace of this remnant spirit, which is generally the core of the majority of Necromancy in the magic department.
Though those fools really confuse the true soul with the Remnant spirit regularly, nor do many know the difference between the two.
"I used pain to jolt these remnants awake and then gave them a body while using the bones as the foundation. Wonderful isn’t it?" Such a simple execution of necromancy left Rosso speechless. Then he turned to look at his creator and asked. "Can you teach me this?"
"First let’s deal with this bastard, Malidi gave us this opportunity, so let’s not waste it," I spoke, giving Rosso a deep look that surprised him all of a sudden.
This opportunity was pre-planned by his creator and Malidi.
Wait, what about Farhad?
Although blinded and burned to the extreme, Rosso could still feel the surrounding movements and understood that Farhad was butchered while trying to save him.
"Don’t worry about Farhad, he can take it." Rosso, although I didn’t know him completely, while hiding in his mind I had been able to grasp some information and understood how it all worked. Making the following plans even more perfect.
And Rosso, hearing my strong tone woke up from his stupor and although his bones still remained soft, and his body completely drained of strength due to the rebirth, he still entered the state of isolation while picking a small blade from the remains of what used to be his old body.
Early on, he didn’t get time to act, but it didn’t mean he was helpless or weak. His burst strength might be a level lower than the likes of Farhad or Remira, but it didn’t mean he was really weak for someone like Vance.
A talented one among the Radiant Knights, but that’s only when in comparison to others in his Order. In front of a Genius like Rosso, who had recovered his battle capabilities, this whole fight was simple.
It only took a few seconds since Rosso’s rebirth to pick up the ceremonial blade, and by the time Vance could give him a thought, a blade struck his sides, directly stabbing into his kidney.
And that’s all it took. That cut alone caused a fountain of flames to leak out of Vance’s body, destabilizing him, and making him falter in his battle against these undead insects.
And then, one of these insects bit into Vance’s neck. "HAHA... You bastard." Which exploded in more flames. Causing the head of that undead to turn to ashes, followed by its body.
But it didn’t make Vance any happy.
Using the time he earned through this outburst, he took out the blade that had pierced his abdomen, threw it away, and then looked around. "You plan to hunt me?... look how I kill you first." Burning Blood was activated with a unique cut effect, along with his unique ability that Vance created through self-cultivation. A being made of pure white flames that covered his entire body, protecting him from the hazards of the outside world.
The very same ability he once used in the caverns of the ghouls a few years ago.
"This is your end."
