Chapter 588: 9.09.5 Missed you old friend.

The world moved past in an instant. From small villages to hills, the most that Farhad saw was a bunch of farms that had been waiting for harvest. ’It’s beautiful.’ He thought, looking at the golden grass holding the wheat kernels.

The war had been a drain on his mind, the violence and carnage were never one-sided. With each kill at your hand, you lose a part of yourself, and this is what Farhad had experienced during the constant war.

So seeing the golden fields, for some reason felt good to Farhad. It made him witness the peace that he had been fighting for. ’Was I fighting for this?’ He asked himself suddenly. As far as he can recall, there was never an agreement on his end to take part in this war. He was given to the military with the prior agreement with the Radiant Order as well as the Church of Red Sun, who then used him for war.

Though there was something more, Farhad thought. The Military, the Order as well and the Church, all of them took part in him. As for what part and how much, Farhad just can’t recall. ’It pains thinking so much.’ He said, choosing to ignore this topic and fall in love with the fields below.

On the other hand, not too far from him, an individual flew at the same pace as Farhad. "Hmm, the fluctuations calmed down, it’s not broken." The man spoke, looking at the small glass sphere that held some floating metal liquid in it.

"Hoo Farhad, why did you have to run away at such a time." The man cursed as his fate as well as the job he had been assigned to. The situation in the world currently was not good, ignoring the war, a great demon had been reborn with the potential for greater misery in the world. Then there was the fact that the movements of the Irban Fateh Alliance hadn’t been simple for the past few days.

Blame it all on that demon that had emboldened the nations around the world to move again with their plans. Which in the Alliance was mostly centered around using this demon as an opportunity to occupy certain land areas around the Brihma continent, considering how much force Cynark was currently deploying toward this demon, making borders around the Cynark kingdom a bit weaker than usual.

Which in the man’s eyes was total foolishness, only the ignorant would choose to create further chaos instead of unifying in front of a greater danger. But what can be expected from a bunch of Island nations who change their name and rulers often until the formation of the alliance? Their records burnt with each regime change, which ended up turning ignorant of the Demon’s true nature.

Not far from this Pursuer of Farhad, there was an old woman who was tracking Farhad in her own way. Unlike the previous man, the woman in a simple dark red robe was teleporting with each step towards her target destination. She didn’t forget to maintain some distance from Farhad while also giving her fellow pursuer a sidelong glance.

"The Army had trained some interesting guys." She appeared intrigued by the man in pursuit of Farhad, before turning her head to Farhad and saying."But no worries, it can be easily dealt with if I play my cards right." She said, increasing her speed and teleporting far away from Farhad and appearing over the Skyline of Pulgasiri.

Oddly enough, unlike the Military of Cynark which had been ignorant of Farhad’s destination. The woman from the Church of Red Sun had long been aware of the place Farhad was going toward.

And the reason for that? Oddly enough it was a strong secret that even the woman didn’t know. All she knew was the information that she received. ’Prevent the birth of the true demon, destination.’

The woman lacked a name of her own, though she had come to be known by the Priestess of the Cold Corpses, though known among her fellow believers as Priestess Cold. Who originally had the job of overlooking Farhad.

Though her goal was never to stop Farhad from being kidnapped or anything like that, her job was simply to wait and see if Farhad left his post for any reason. If he does, who does he end up meeting?

And if this someone is something at the nature of a spirit, only then is she allowed to act. This is why she holds a small bangle, made specifically to seal a Spirit in case it dares to show its head.

However, this job was modified when she received the message that sounded too unbelievable at first. But she was forced to accept them after certain instructions she received from the Archbishop. Which is why she was here. Over a giant Mine network which had the most suspicious activity detected under her Domain.

’So much had changed.’ She spoke, looking toward the titans that now surrounded the mines as well as the little people who were hiding in their small compartments. Which made her upset over the lost time, which made her feel like a relic from the bygone era. But this was all she felt, in her eyes, these creations of the mortals were nothing more than toys that could be destroyed with a swipe of her hands.

However, she isn’t foolish enough to do such a thing, for she knows the danger that each of these Titans carries.

A danger that openly exposed itself to let others be aware of who they might mess with. ’It’s her force... meaning he is at the center of it.’ Certain faces appeared in the woman’s head. Both are old though of opposite sexes.

"Sending forces here instead of dealing with her husband’s killer... " Priestess Cold soon came to understand the importance of this place. If even the widow was choosing to focus her mind here instead of dealing with her husband’s killer, it goes to show how much importance this place held.

As for the entrance? It was not hard for a Domain Wielding priestess to find. For it appeared like a void in her domain, something her domain couldn’t cover or ever hope to understand. Not like the woman was ever interested in understanding. She just looked at the voided cave entrance and refocused her attention on the job she was here to do.

Which was to stop the birth of a True Demon.

As for what this True Demon meant? She can only find it while going inside.

"I would recommend we stop here?" I spoke, stopping my fellow friend partway through. Who did wonder why I made such a suggestion? "Friend, your domain is smaller than my perception, which might be why you didn’t notice the Legends that had been eying the cave together with us."

"Legends? There are others?"

"At most two that I can detect, one of them familiar, though not a friend, so she might just go against us if she got the chance to do so." That old woman, I did have small relations with her, and she can be considered a fellow friend of sorts. However, that was only possible when the stakes were not high.

As long as I don’t take things too far, she wouldn’t involve herself in the matters. Not to mention, last time it was the people in Pulgasiri who asked her to not involve herself, which made it easier for me to act and talk with her face-to-face without fearing retaliation.

But now? The situation was far from normal. Unless I can ascertain what she wanted and why she was here, getting closer to her would mean certain death.

As for my fellow friend Kairut? Well, he was legendary and could deal with the other woman that came here, but in front of that Old Dragon?

Kairut was nothing more than an insect and I am not saying this because his whole body was built of Insects.

"Are you planning to waste our time here fearing the inevitable?" Kairut asked me an obvious question, which made me reconsider my options. "Well, not like we have any options." I agreed, there was no other way around it.

I was not in a true body, failure was imminent. So what if I die?

"I hope you have some riches ready in your insect bag." I made a suggestion before going toward our target location.

The void that was only detected in Kairut’s domain appeared like an entirely new world inside the world of Dreams.

Such a wonderful scene if I have to say so. It was the first time I witnessed such a clear and complete world inside the dream world which was ever-changing and hard to even understand.

The whole new area that I witnessed was like an oil painting. ’Such a beauty.’ before asking Kairut to pause for a bit. "Well, a few friends are coming here soon, it would be good to meet up with them before going inside."

As I spoke those words, I saw the silhouette of Rosso appear in my perception. Holding two heads in both of his hands. "Cruel one he is."
