Chapter 582: 9.07.4 Your father-in-law is here.

It didn’t take much effort to find my children, and by the time I arrived on the back of a cricket that can teleport using the Domain, the kids were already panicking, wondering why the puppet was not responding.

Such kind minds almost put a tear in my eyes if I had any tear ducts at that moment. "I am back kids." Spoke as I left and joined my puppet body back while telling the kids the tale of what I just experienced.

A wonderful war that would burn the eyes of mortals, that is if they were unlucky enough to see it. Which is why I was glad that these kids were too weak to ever notice the oddities that I can witness.

"But your soul, it seems far weaker than before," I spoke to one of them, specifically, it was Owl, who had the potential to be a Mystic, just like his sister MIni. But he like her still chose to be a proper Exorcist. But it didn’t mean that he lost his sensitivity toward the soul.

He can see it, the thoughts and spirit that made up this body of mine were fainter than before, bringing its life down by a few months. "Don’t worry, I am just a backup, even if I were to fall, as long as we succeed with Malidi’s rescue, I will be back in no time." Giving some reassurance to these kids was necessary.

For the past five years, they have been on the run from their home with little connection to their previous allies. This will be straining on anyone. Everyone wants a break, a place to stay and rest for a while. A place to mingle together for the betterment of the mind.

All of it was necessary for an active mind. Sadly the kids were forced to live the life of a refugee, doing odd jobs from around the world while keeping the eyes on Yethel’s movements.

They had suffered too much from my incompetency, so I didn’t wish to worry them much after this. "For now, let’s bring in some help." I gave them the order, and with the little magic and pager, they sent detailed information to the little allies they had left.

As for how it all worked. Each pager itself also works as a Signal tower, as long as they are carefully placed in a particular order, each pager can act as a Bridge to send the message to the pager for which it was intended.

Though for them to send a message, a main port city was needed, considering only in those places would Yethel operatives be carrying such messengers while they lived a normal life? With their purpose being mostly to keep the page active.

Of course, this active chain of signals was not available to everyone. Only a select few were even aware of its existence and this didn’t include the hidden operatives.

"Your toys have become more weird with time." Spoke Kairut, who was currently covered in a cloak, under which was nothing more than some crabs and other sea insects slowly being melted together into a body. However, this process will take time, which Kairut chose to waste on the deck.

"You should have one, right?" Truth be told, I was unaware of how well-circulated these toys were. As the backup memory was limited and unaware of many things that had transpired after my creation. Though I had been aware of when these things were in development and how I planned to use them. Which I had only been able to confirm with the Owl’s memory that he let me look at before those Angels came for my life.

"I kept one, but I have had my suspicions over how much you can do with these things, so I had kept it all sealed," Kairut spoke as an eel grew out of his arm before spitting the pager. "It’s why I had sealed it." Kairut was a master at Occult magic. So it’s not a surprise that he would have noticed the little tweaks we made on the designs that I got from Prithvi’s phone.

Well, this is the world of magic and far more can be done with magic than just technology. Including the part where one amplifies the other’s function, or you can hide some other things in between. "Tell me, Jester, what do you plan to do..." At that question, I went a bit silent.

’Well he did catch on quickly, other’s might be far faster.’

"Not now, this is just one rendition of the tool I had in mind, the prototype that should have been released to the world by now, but my plan has gone awry and few hold this tool to begin with."

The original plan was to release these tools widely in the market, letting everyone enjoy what connectivity feels like. However, due to the isolationist tendencies of people in the world, they chose to keep such wonderful technology to themselves, which limited what my plan was for the future.

Though not all was lost, it had only been delayed somewhat and nothing more. As long as I succeed in Malidi’s rescue, I can go back to doing what I love the most.

"Do you expect to pull something like you did in Durum? No one is so stupid, you will be caught on early."

"Not that, can you imagine the resource require to do something like that?... No, my intentions were far simpler...I just wanted to listen in to my customer’s private matters, and they would tell me that by themselves as long as they used this device."

At those words, Kairut went mute, he looked at me with disgust, or so I thought considering the face under that hood was made up of weird crawling insects that were slowly fusing even now, making it impossible for me to see what Kairut felt.

Though from his brain fluctuations alone that he caused in the dream world, I can feel his disappointment along with distrust. He knew that was not all, and I won’t deny that, but keeping my mouth shut at the moment was an apt choice considering that even if we both were currently in alliance, as long as one was not subservient to the other, it would be harder for us to expose our true heart.

"Hmm, let’s keep this conversation on pause, guess that someone woke up down below."

There was only one person unconscious at this time, a person who had denied my advances multiple times. A person who had chosen to work for those demons while being aware of their atrocities. Making me wonder how I should treat him.

But then again, Gazelle that girl rarely asks me of anything. She had been cleaning after her little siblings for a long and had acted as a parent in times I was not there and the kids needed me.

For such a person, I would choose to overlook this boy’s offenses. And yes, this was a boy even if he was reaching fifty years of age. That’s how the Transcendent people age.

This... I am not with..."

"You are correct, this is no princely quarters... it’s just a temporary home to us." I spoke with some annoyance and sarcasm.

This boy had just woken up, but his mind had already started to assess the situation. "Also don’t try to ignite your blood, the kids have placed a ban on it." Banning the blood of an individual without the support of a higher-level Knight of the same Bloodline is far harder than one might think. It’s dangerous considering the fact that we are dealing with something that has a connection to a totem in the best case.

Or worse, it’s a bloodline of a god or an Angel. That makes it all the more dangerous.

But the kids were still forced to put a ban on his blood instead of using the classic drugs for weakening and poison for suppression of bloodline.

The reason they went so far was due to Gazelle, who said that the boy wouldn’t be able to heal without the strength of his bloodline.

Which was partly right, though I would have still preferred if they used the classic methods instead of putting themselves in danger.

"Who?" After confirming my words, he asked a question that he should have asked at the earliest. But call it arrogance or confidence in his identity that he won’t be harmed, that he didn’t appear worried or panicked after the initial surprise. Instead, his tone carried weight as he asked me for my identity.

’Changes.’ He noticed it, the difference between who he used to be and how he was now.

Guess too much has happened since our last meeting.

"You should know who I am if you think harder..." I said, though he still made an ignorant face while looking around. ’Ho, I had forgotten, it would seem I used some bodies as proxies to talk to him, and not my normal voice.’ The soul was limited and without important points, the details were missing.

So it’s no wonder he didn’t know who he was speaking to. "I apologize, guess I expected too much out of you. I spoke before calmly saying. "I am the father of the woman you have been eyeing all this while, and I am here to see if you have what it takes." Unlike my simple and kind voice, this one was far stern and filled with some hatred.

Though Amir, the Prince of Cynark didn’t appear to take my joke kindly. Instead, his face twisted in horror as he understood who I was speaking about which he soon connected to who I actually was. "Jester... you."

"My kids saved you from certain death, so choose your words wisely young boy."
