Chapter 576: 9.06.3 Mistakes were made.
Dragon’s legacy had been a long one, he had appeared countless times through the time, and each time, someone ended up sealing him one way or another. Though such means were never deployed since the start.
The world in the golden age believed it could take out this evil serpent, and it did until it somehow recovered and came back stronger than before, which is how the serpent earned the title of Immortal.
As for how old this serpent was? Only a few among the Totems knew of this truth. The majority of them live with frustration over its existence while they wait for when the serpent will rise again and wreak havoc once again in the world.
And once this serpent did something like this, the Totems were dispatched to deal with this issue. With the one from Cynark being an Angel as well.
Titled the Vestige of a Drinker, its true name had long been lost through history, the most the royals among in Cynark did know of this individual were his title as well as the ’Drinks’ it enjoyed.
Which just happen to be little children.
What can he say, he enjoyed the taste of innocence. And call it fate or t the Angel that stood in front of him carried the body of one, which just increased the thirst in his heart a bit stronger.
"This is not a conflict any of you want to be part of." Spoke Wrath, giving the Drinker an angered look.
She had just acquired this body, but there were still some kinks to deal with and the issue with the original will that remained in her head. But none of them were truly that much of a problem considering that she still remained one of the angels who had to face the suppression of the material world just like the other two in front of her.
Currently, all three of them are at Legend Rank, which is the limit of strength they can impose on the material plane, anything above that will shatter their vessel and bring backlash to their true body, which none of them can afford.
So it truly was not a battle anyone wanted to take part in, it’s dangerous for all of them, as not every day you can find a proper vessel.
"Oh, but I want this conflict." Spoke Drinker with a single thought produced a blood sword and attacked the opponent in front of him.
He was not foolish enough to produce his Domain in the current situation. Moreso, he just couldn’t due to the monkey that was eyeing the two from the side with hunger in its eyes.
The answer was also simple. A totem like a God is limited to the area of their worship, the true domain in a certain sense, not the kind that Legends unfurl and compress depending on their need.
It’s what makes a totem differ from a Legend in the truest sense, and gives them an edge when in the material world where all of them are limited to Legend.
This is also one of the reasons why Totems rarely if ever leave their place. And once they do, they are very careful when to use force and how to use it. Just like the situation now.
It was awfully rash for Drinker to attack a figure he barely knew anything about, it can be considered more suicidal considering there was a Totem with control over the whole sea not too far from him.
But Drinker still made such a move, he needed to make it due to the orders he had received from above.
’No foreign totem or Angel is to leave this place unharmed.’ As for Daemons? They were the rare bunch, to this day, only a few among the Knights or mages had ascended to that level and most of the time, they chose to sit out from conflicts of such nature due to the nature of their strength.
As for why the Drinker attacked Wrath?
The answer was obvious if one is to know the legacy of Dragon and how dangerous or easy to manipulate he can be with enough benefits in line. Drinker’s current moves were to make sure that no one is stupid enough to have their interest line in with Dragon. He needs to make sure that no one.
However if there was one thing he wanted to thank, it would be the badge of the royal that brought him here. Otherwise, he might have missed out on such a wonderful target to make an example out of.
As for the little Totem asking for money? With a simple move of his hand, an or of blood formed in front of the monkey, which soon turned into shiny stones that caused the monkey to go crazy. "Your sacrifice, I accept." It’s never good to make an enemy of your host when you plan to cause chaos in his house. And being a noble, Drinker had to uphold proper manners.
Bang, with a swing of the blood sword, the area around Wrath soon turned dark before blooming into an explosion. The physical movement alone caused enough friction to create an explosion, one must wonder what might happen to those at the end of such a strike.
Well, there was not much that could happen. "You are a foolish one." Wrath spoke as she backed off with a broken arm in tow.
This attack was too strong for her. She hadn’t adapted to her body yet, so facing such an attack was tantamount to going for a run on an obstacle course after being drunk.
Though, as it happens generally, once struck in such a state, you will soon lose your drunkenness and come about to your full senses, which did happen with Wrath, who got ready to strike.
But before she could do such a thing, another attack came out of nowhere, this time, dragging her toward the surface of the sea.
The monkey Totem had attacked, and his target was only the girl, for she hadn’t given him what he wanted. Hence, she will suffer from the consequences.,
Well, that’s how the war began a one-sided beating between two Legends against one.

The directives were simple and sound, find Malidi. Malidi is the only one who can give the Radiant Knights a clue on what they were dealing with, and how to end it.
Which was a huge success at the start. Although they never found him, they did end up coming across certain legacies that he left in his wake that enriched the knowledge sanctum of the Knights, while further expanding the interest they had in Malidi level further.
However, these things did come to a halt once Remira fell in the recent battle and the disaster of that struck Rudrain.
The damages were too much to simply ignore, and Radiant Order was forced to halt its operation in this particular direction for the time being.
"Do you wish for such a thing?" Spoke to Magistar Jasper who spoke to Remira about that stool still without much energy in her eyes. "Don’t be so childish Remira, failures are part of life. When things happen outside your control, you don’t go mute and take all the blame yourself."
The last few months had been tough on Remira, though her recovery didn’t take time due to the potions and her own physique, it didn’t mean her mind would be healed so early. The things that transpired in Rudrain keep repeating in her mind.
And not just Rudrain, she had such thoughts of all the prior incidences, including Durum and Phuket. She had been in a retrospective hell where she kept thinking about what she must have done better.
How better it would have been if she didn’t do a thing. Such a cursed state. Such a high level of guilt was ruining her mind. "But... but I pushed him, that man... he was living a simple life and I pushed him." She spoke, just like how she had done so before.
"Pushed him... Well you did, but considering what we had learned recently, I don’t think that was a bad thing to do." Spoke Jasper with a small smile, that did cause Remiar to look at him with some hopeful eyes that were barely noticeable.
Of course, he did and explained the situation calmly. "While you were moping around, a few other things happened in the seas, and this is a report of it that I recently received." Spoke to Jasper while pushing the file to Remira. "This is not for anyone besides you..." The small report had transcripts from the records that Radiant Knights kept.
"There is no need to blame yourself... you should instead be proud. You came to face with something so legendary and lived. Not many can say such words." He spoke with a proud smile.
"Doesn’t matter who he is, what I did turned him into that monster. I caused that disaster." She spoke, pushing away the notes without even looking at them one bit.
And she is not wrong when one thinks deeply about it. Of course, Jasper can’t allow that to happen. He can’t let Remira become a useless bum no matter what.
