Chapter 572: 9.05.4 Danger on the way.
While the world was still finding out about the giant serpent frozen in the middle of the seas, some small nations and islands sent out their scout ships to understand the situation. Everything was a bit too quiet in Yethel.
Well, almost too quiet. "The father-daughter unit had been a success... " Spoke Vegal while cleaning his hands of a bluish liquid that burned through his fleshy hands, before reaching the metallic bones hidden underneath. But Vegal was drowned by his own accomplishment to care about something so little.
"Sir, the initial testing has shown good results, but we can’t know for certain if this is the right choice. Activating them now without a powerful spiritual medium might be dangerous." The spiritual medium here meant anyone who dabbled in the path of mysticism, their souls were strong enough to see things that normal people couldn’t.
And their jobs also varied, though they mostly dealt with spiritual issues that the world had to offer. Whether it be individual or community level. The mystics are important virtually everywhere in this world.
Including the current research department of Vegal’s lab. "What about Koksch?"
"Called back by the Tower for certain issues on their research project." Hearing these words, Vegal’s face twisted in anger. "He chose that place instead of coming here?... "
"Hah... What about others."
"Sir, everyone had been called to the tower... we could have set an appointment if we had known of the succeeding so early, but not anymore." There were only a few among the mystics who had the qualifications to join government projects of such a high level. Among those, only a few were dependable and safe to employ.
Not to mention, being a small nation closed off from the world, there was no way for Yethel to employ the Mystics from the outside. Not like they will do as such due to the security issues.
’I really miss that Master of mine.’ He had seen his master not too long ago, sometimes returning to normal, but only for a few seconds, before he was turned into a fool again.
The game the lords of this country were playing with Jester was too cruel, which did set an example in Vegal’s head. He knew that he shouldn’t stand out and do his job as was expected of him, or his fate might be far worse.
’Still, I am the one who built those missiles... I am the one to make the pager and the rest of the modern tools. And they can’t even give me priority for using mystic services?’ He cursed for a bit, before sighing and returning to his room. The project would need to be put on hold as without a Mystic securing the spiritual mind of the two new creations of his, all the effort might go down the drain.
’If only Master was here, he would have handled it all by himself.’ He sighed, looking toward the ceiling of his room, which was also over a kilometer underground. "Sir, your hands." Came a voice from the side, making Vegal turn around and then nod. "Fix it." He ordered while putting his palms on the table while a couple of doctors came and started to work on his hands that had corroded till only bones were left.
But such injuries were not rare in the research wing, which is why there were already some doctors on standby to handle the injuries in case something did happen.
Though partway through the little potions, flesh, and alchemy that were used to fix his arms, a light lit up in Vegal’s soul.
’Hmm?’ A light too familiar to him, a light that seemed to have called for him.
A light that only a few were aware of. ’Did he regain his sanity for longer?’ Vegal wondered for a bit, not showing many emotions on the surface. However, he did order one of his men to type something in a pager and send it out.
And the result?
"No changes." That did put Vegal in a tough position. ’The spiritual strength can’t be denied... and if it’s not from him, then it’s probably one of his complete clones.’ There were few in his mind, those that were active in the world as little critters, but from what Vegal understood, virtually all of them were enslaved by this point. With no point of a comeback.
’Unless he still has some backup.’ Vegal’s eyes shined for a bit, but he suppressed his emotions from getting too rowdy.
It would be a lie to say that he didn’t like the things that were happening in Yethel. ’Hopefully, it won’t be long before Jester is back.’ Spoke Vegal. Unaware that like how he had detected this odd signal, so did many others in the country, even if they didn’t hold Jester’s Mark.
A bit further away from the Captain, in Phuket. A woman hid in the sky overlooking a house where a boy was getting ready for his marriage while others in the family ran around and were busy doing their own job.
"You look good." She spoke, showing some nostalgia. Although not being who she used to be once, the woman still retained part of when she used to be a mortal, with mortal desires. Which included marrying, having children of her own, and watching these children build their own families.
Sadly, due to circumstances outside of her control, she can’t achieve that dream ever. However, she can live that fantasy through the one who once used to be her brother. Treating his children as her own.
Though the part way through her little snooping around, something clicked in her mind, making her turn toward the seas, at a particular area. "Unexpected to say the least." She smiled, appearing happy for a bit and then turning cold the next second. "Kairut, your job is to approach that place and annihilate whatever remains there." Spoke to the woman.
Whose voice was heard in the ears of a professor who was currently teaching a bunch of kids some simple mathematics? "The class will end for the moment, something has come up," Kairut spoke, giving outcome homework to his class before leaving them. That did cause the children in the class to celebrate out loud.
Ignorant of what big things were taking place in the world.

"Although I had expected it, it was still a surprise how he had been able to maintain separate clones even after going through the state of unity during his ascension." In his small mansion, the man named Lord Emotion made such a comment, appearing not the least bit surprised by this revelation.
But he did wonder how did Jester it.
The state of Unity was a simple part of the ascension process where all parts of your beings will return and ascend to a higher real with you, something that happens a lot when you are entering the ranks of a Daemon or a totem.
Lord Emotion abused this to ensure that Jester had no way out.
Though it’s obvious he failed, as Jester Stile retained some backup.
A backup that can’t hide anymore. ’It’s desperate, meaning certain conditions might apply to its state of being. Or it knows what is going to happen to its true core, making it far more desperate.’
’But for it to take such a dangerous approach, exposing itself to me and many others... he might have found a way to save himself and needs support. Hence, this call to his close followers’
’Wonderful, truly wonderful. It won’t be fun if it’s all so simple.’ Emotion spoke, showing a bit of a sadistic streak on his face.
"Little Lotus is sending Kairut, and it would be unkind of me to not send him some help." Lord Emotion smiled further, as his hand twisted into the air fracturing the very reality itself. "Wrath, I believe you are awake... come now, I got a body for you." At those words, from the void, a mass of tentacles that were partially burned crawled out of the fracture in an illusory form, before entering the body of a small girl that had been kept by Lord Emotion’s side for a long time.
And not before long, the girl opened her eyes and then looked around the room for a bit before bowing down to Lord Emotion. "I greet the lord that gave me life, once again." The little girl spoke, as a mass of tentacles broke out of her back slowly forming an armor on her body.
"Wrath, this is no time for greetings, I have a certain job for you."

"~~What am I doing here... waiting for someone new... ~~" When alone at a job, it’s always better to sing a song as it helps one deal with the loneliness. Makes one mind more active while you do your job.
Which is what I did, making this job far easier for me.
"Now, we wait. Let’s see who comes first... whether it be my people that bring me closer to my goal... or my doom." Even if this is the end, I hope it won’t be a boring one.
