Chapter 544: 8.13.3 I am evil like you.

A heart that never bled a single drop of blood, instead it turned into dark spots before returning to the body of the Amari the Fallen star. "You."

The higher one goes on the path of transcendence, the less of a human one would be, and this was the same for the mages as well. At the higher ranks, their flesh and blood are entirely replaced by magic, losing a real physical form and only existing as an energy-based organism.

Of course, as always, this was on a case-to-case basis and depended on the spells one mastered. However, arcanists are mostly built up of energy, and even with their heads removed, it’s much easier for them to recover it.

But that depends on if the attack they faced was a simple one.

"You." Amari’s eyes, as well as face, turned pale as the sparkling liquid flowed out of her nose as well as ears.

This was not a simple physical attack, there was something behind it that could harm Amari, which made her realization even worse. ’This man, he can kill me.’ No, in her head, he will definitely kill her.

So before that could happen, she expanded her domain, ignoring the safety of the citizens below, she cast her first spell in the spirit of survival. "Gravity Well." With those words, the space behind Dragon seemed to twist as if something was attracting all the lights in a singular place, which started to drag not only Dragon but the surrounding environment as well, including the part of the city as well as Rosso, who is the closest was the fastest one to feel the horror of this attack.

’I will be crushed.’ He thought, feeling pity that his perfect body would be rendered useless. As for death, as long as nothing happens to his soul, he can access the Dreamworld and turn into a parasite, just like his creator. However, it’s not a life he wishes to live. ’I won’t die.’ Which is where he played his cards.

The sudden attack did destabilize the footing of Dragon, who seemed to have lost control over the arms that bound Rosso. Which finally let Rosso use his strength, which in this specific case was his bloodline ability.

Like a tendril, his blood turned into rope, turning thinner and thinner the more distance it covered, until it reached what appeared to be a newly built chapel of a kind and bound itself to it, providing Rosso some leverage so that he didn’t get pushed into the vortex of death which has started to lift the corpses of mortals and devour them under their crushing force.

Such a devastating scene, Rosso didn’t know why, but he felt a level of horror from such a show of might. Something he hadn’t felt before. ’It’s almost familiar.’ he spoke, feeling that his blood rope might not be able to endure for long.

Of course, Dragon on the other hand seemed to have enjoyed this attack. Being the closest to the attack, like others he did fall towards it in a single line, seemingly collapsing in that small black dot.

Covered in corpses that were crushed under the pressure and the dust from the broken buildings. Dragon who had a habit of being annoyed at even little things, seemed to have smiled. "My back." No sound escaped out of that area, but Rosso could read his lips from what he could see.

And what he sees is the dot struggling to devour the monster that has collided with it. "This thing is wonderful... finally some value besides your beauty." Dragon, even under the suppression of the gravity in the area, easily turned his body around, and under the horrified look of the Legendary named Amari, he casually grabbed the dot and crushed it.

"You." And it was this time that the lady escaped the scene. This was no fight, but direct slaughter.

That single Dot might appear single to most. Just a bit of extra gravity in a small area, but only she understood the horrors of that small dot.

The closer one got to it, the higher the temperatures as the very atoms were being crushed and absorbed by the dot, releasing a huge amount of heat. So much heat that few Legends would claim to come out of it unscathed, and that is if they were able to ignore the gravity which turned worse the closer you got to the Dot.

But this monster, this man named Dragon directly crushed that Dot with his arm.

Monster, a true monster.

The only way out was to escape, which she did, abandoning the citizens who she came to protect.

Her only job was to decrease the casualties, no one ever spoke about fighting a monster that in her eyes might compare to Wortham.

"She ran... as I expected." Dragon, on the other hand, seeing all this transpire didn’t seem angry in the slightest, just a tad bit disappointed. However, his disappointment turned into amusement when he looked toward Rosso as well as the woman that Rosso had caught at some point in time.

"Aha! I knew I had chosen correctly. I like Greedy men the most." Dragon laughed, thinking that Rosso had saved this "woman" out of some sick desire for possession, but that’s not the case at all.

In truth, nothing would be better than this woman dying in Rosso’s eyes. But with the information he had received and understanding the backing of this woman, her death would cause some problems for his Creator.

She was one of the bigger pawns in a game he knew nothing about. He just did as was ordered by his Creator, even if it didn’t make much sense in Rosso’s mind.

And of course, you already know who this woman was. It was Remira that was barely able to stand up after Dragon’s initial burst and due to her weakness, she was also easily dragged into Amari’s spell and if not for Rosso’s timely rescue, she might have long died, or not, considering whose chosen she was.

But no matter what happens, Rosso has to lend a hand when it is needed. Remira noticed this all, though due to the "Dragon fear" on her body, she could barely speak at this moment, only showing some confusion over why Rosso would save her.

As for the line that Dragon said? If it was someone else other than Rosso, she might have believed Dragon’s words. She was a beautiful woman, and with her dual bloodlines, she was turning more and more like a perfect human specimen. Anyone would fall for her if not for her identity and strength.

So it won’t be bizarre if someone would have wrong intentions for her in case of her vulnerability.

But this was a pawn of Jester we are talking about, they were crazier than they appeared and don’t seem to be people that care for such mortal desires at all.

Which in truth was wrong for Rosso, as he had someone he liked, so there was little he cared about Remira’s look.

Of course, knowing how weird this man named Dragon is, he didn’t dare to speak out the truth, instead with his false smile, he bowed. "No, not yet... she is a prize I intend to capture myself. I don’t want someone else to hand her over to me."

The man who named himself Dragon might think was hard to understand, but if one were to simply consider his name, his words as well as actions, it was easy to see what kind of person he was.

’A prideful egocentric maniac that loves attention.’ In simpler words, he was a caricature of what is worse about men. Which felt somewhat odd as well as contrasting considering the kind of person Heroth used to be.

’He is completely opposite.’ If Heroth was a normal human in simpler terms, then this dragon is the corrupted version of a "manly" human. Filled with greed unlike Heroth’s who seemed to have a habit of giving away his riches without asking much in return.

"Good, good boy, I chose correct," Dragon spoke with a loud laugh, his eyes shining with intelligence. Before he turned to look at Remira. "But the girl you chose is a dangerous one, once she recovers, there won’t be a future where I see you winning. So are you still going to let her go?" This was a test, and Rosso understood that he didn’t need to back off.

However, he still put up a struggling look before answering. "Then I will do my best to kill her so that she won’t be someone else." At Rosso’s response, Dragon laughed for a bit, before his eyes turned red for a while, changing from Jolly to angry in an instant. "Now that I have your answer, it’s about time you die. Don’t think I have forgotten what kind of problem you pushed onto Poor Heroth."
