Chapter 542: 8.13.1 An arm for an arm.

The devastation was something to behold, high up in the air, the battle had reached a boiling point between the Two Legendaries.

Dearma was born of lightening, the only reason he remained alive was due to the grogginess of his opponent which led to him facing simpler attacks, but that was it, the most Dearma could do was survive against the absurd onslaught of his opponent might not know how to use his domain, but he still overpowered Dearma with broken attacks that completely overwhelmed him.

"Dragon is it?" Dearma shouted while turning into lightning and teleporting in the area using his domain. "I always wanted to hunt a dragon." Even without arms, there was no impact on Dearma’s strength, for in a battle of their level, weapons, tools artifacts, and even limbs turn redundant. It’s the personal strength that matters. The powers one can muster, and Dearma could muster all the power that he could in the past and some more.

With time, he might not have grown as he should have if he was free, but the time still helped him hone his skills and turned him more lethal as time went by.

Just like now.

"Hunt a dragon? Many have tried." Spoke the figure possessing Heroth’s body, before the lightning in the area arced together to form even more lightning spears and attacked Dearma.

Who just dodged for a bit before suddenly aiming downside? This caused some old vehicles and rebars from a broken building to float up and face the tribulation of lightning, which caused the metal to melt and form orbs of molten metal.

This was an aspect of lightning, magnetism depending on how you circulate the thunder, and using that aspect, Dearma obtained control of the metal. Something that the man named Dragon couldn’t mimic or steal.

Which made Dearma happy. ’Found weakness.’ He had noticed it long ago, for one reason or another, even if he was limited by some force, this figure in front of him was incapable of using his strength with creativity.

So why could he steal Dearma’s remnant lighting in the clouds and use it? The answer is easy. The bloodline of Dragon had the talent to control lightning.

’Dragons were known to control the weather.’ With age came wisdom, and although he understood that the compatibility between him and his opponent was bad on his end, he didn’t stop this battle, instead he chose a different approach.

The drive to defeat an overpowering opponent drove him further. He had been defeated by that monster named Wortham once, and such a mistake wouldn’t be repeated ever again, not in front of this beast that couldn’t even use his brain to its full extent.

Being defeated by such an opponent would be a stain on Dearma’s record, so he won’t accept any defeat.

Which started a new round of battle, turning the very sky red with fire and lightening with the aftermath of the battle falling like rain from the skies, devastating the city even further.

It was at this junction that another Legendary appeared in the foray, a new figure who didn’t intend to join the battle at all, with a wipe of her arms, she covered the very city under an illusory dome that protected the South district from the battle in the heavens, while her remaining eyes fell onto Remira.

"That child is here?" A bit surprised before her eyes fell on Rosso, who didn’t appear in her sight normally, but it was only due to her domain that she could look at his figure. "Such fascinating enemies these days." And she pointed her finger in Rosso’s direction, intending to end him from the distance.

But before she could, a creepy feeling crawled on her back, which she easily shook off, but it also made her wary of this opponent of hers. ’If I kill him, I am dead.’ Was her thought?

She didn’t understand why and how this would happen, but considering the opponent was a curse wilder, she had some inkling.

Killing him would probably cause a powerful curse to jump on her, something she wouldn’t be able to fight off. And she was not wrong in the slightest.

Before a Legendary could have killed Rosso without an issue and then fought off any reactionary curse that might come their way. But with Rosso entering the ranks of Grandmaster, that is not the case anymore.

Even legendary will fall if they dare to treat Rosso lightly.

Of course, none of that meant a thing to this woman, who easily understood the dangers of killing her opponent, so she did the second-best thing.

With a Boom, Rosso’s wings were separated from his body, causing him to crash right into the building and sustain some injuries due to the momentum with which he flew earlier.

However that was not even the worst part, as Remira came wilding her flaming sword and attacked Rosso, who timely used the needle-like proboscis to counter her sword, but failed to do it completely as one of them easily broke under her might, and when the second swing came, Rosso kicked the ground and made some distance again. "Another one came." Rosso cursed at his fate.

Legendary beings were always too annoying to deal with. If he had more strength, he might have had a chance to fight off their influence, but since a while ago the growth he was experiencing had turned into a trickle, a sign that either he had consumed all he could, or that most of his little puppets have already been dealt with.

And considering the figure of a Legendary who just attacked him before, Rosso believed it was the latter. But there was no panic on his face, he had expected such a level of retaliation from his enemies.

He was in the capital and to cause thirty minutes of chaos non-stop was already enough, any more than this would have been a luxury to begin with.

On the other hand, Remira still hasn’t come to terms with the reality of the situation. The boy she saw half a decade ago had turned into a monster of unfathomable proportions.

He was the cause of all this misery. The dead must far exceed the numbers in Durum and this time, there were huge casualties among the Knights as well, with some Noble families entirely annihilated.

All of this was accomplished in just half an hour.

This boy, this creation of Jester was the worst she had ever seen in her whole life. And no matter what happens, this thing can’t be let go. He can’t remain alive, so unlike Rosso who created some distance and intended to leave this area once again, Remira didn’t give him any chance.

"Beast of the eclipse." She spoke the name, causing the dual bloodlines in her body to awaken all at once, starting a transformation, where fur made of flames covered her body, while her sword started to grow along with her own size, turning the area around her cold.

This was unlike Durum where she had turned into a mindless mutant beast. This time, she had complete control over her bloodline and her transformation was much human as well.

With three eyes that could see into eternity, she wielded her sword that had turned as giant as a car and slashed it at the escaping Rosso who was much further than her. And in normal circumstances, this wouldn’t have hit Rosso at all.

But Remira was not the old her anymore, with the gentle swing of her giant sword, a giant fan of flames spread through the air, which suddenly solidified into the air, turning into icicles stabbing directly into Rosso.

And no matter how fast he was, he couldn’t dodge this attack at all. Causing his back to be stabbed with countless ice spears.

However, it was still not the end of the attack. With the slowdown caused by the attack, Remira bolted into the streets, decimating the ground as well as buildings around her through her momentum alone, while her other swung the sword to divide Rosso in half.

This was the end.

This would be Rosso’s end. "You are annoying," Rosso said, directly grabbing Remira’s sword without even looking back.

And the scene happened as one might have expected, his hand met the sword and couldn’t do a thing against it.

Remira can clearly see how the hand was sliced from between and frozen under the flaming ice that purified all the curses.

This was the end of this monster, the end of this disaster.

Or so Remira thought. "An arm for an arm," Rosso spoke, causing the curse of isolation to take effect, which ate away at his broken arms, before the curse flowed into Remira’s sword and then to her arm, causing her immense pain for the first time trough this battle.

Even her bloodline couldn’t do a thing against such an attack.

"What is going on?" It was her thoughts as her arms were entirely sealed under the might of the curse.
