Chapter 534: 8.11.2 Are you crazy.

The impact of multiple Grandmasters fighting in the church was different from that of the Master ranks fighting on the outside.

The court was fortified, capable of handling the impact of a full-frontal attack of Grandmasters, while on the outside, a sneeze from those people could break a wall.

So what of a fight between a bunch of them?

Well, that didn’t actually happen, as the enemies that came out of the foray were mostly low-level. At most, their strength reached the level of Adept.

But that alone was causing enough damage to even Master Rank who had endured some of the weirdest enemies known to man.

They appeared and disappeared on their own, attacking from all directions, always attempting to infect with their blood disease. Though they did leave the mortals alone, the spread was not as dangerous as many might have expected from an attack of this scale.

But there were still countless mortal casualties. With experts using their strength in the middle of the streets to save themselves, some buildings collapsed, taking out the unconscious mortals along with them.

The worst part, it all happened in a couple of minutes. The virus or whatever it was caused instant infection and revived the dead Knights. And ignoring the mortals, this bizarre infected undead harmed virtually everyone that had ignited even little bits of their blood.

Including the young Knights who had only turned twelve at most.

"Horrible," Remira spoke, looking at the child who dragged his body to her before disappearing in front of her eyes again. But with her inhuman senses and the innate ability of Radiant Knight to suppress the curses. She could feel the child’s existence and with a swipe of her arm, he was burned to death in an instant.

"Shamblers." That’s the name she came up with for these things. As for most, these things teleport to attack and disappear. But in her eyes, their movements were slow and predictable. These creatures still walked on their two feet and needed to approach their enemy manually.

This reminded her of a certain memory in part of her mind, but she remained silent, as many confusing things had happened recently, so she wasn’t sure what to believe or not.

But focusing on the current matters, it’s important to know who caused this disaster. She needed to know why this attack happened at such an inopportune time. This is why she turned her head toward the Gray Halls of the Church of Truthful Deceit, whose steps had now filled with corpses, and the Shamblers, who were spreading their disease at a greater level.

Causing their curse energy to rise to greater heights.

And this was this odd rise that put Remira in worry, she didn’t hesitate to expose her strength, bridging her silver hair and white flames to the battlefield, smelling and tracking the Shamblers she came across in the city.

Why not support the Church of Truthful Deceit? Why would a Church with Multiple Grand Master’s need her help? They can handle the matters themselves, some of which were already doing it by easily gaining the ability to see these Shamblers with their Lies.

So although she wanted to look for Heroth in all this chaos, she still prioritized the safety of the citizens and weaker noble families that might not have any defense against such a massive attack.

Though, even with her Grand Master level of strength and the advantage of being a Chosen of the Radiant Knights, she was at the end of the day, still a singular person, incapable of causing any real impact unless she was to directly annihilate an entire block to deal with these Shamblers, never caring for the mortal lives involved.

Such an odd attack in her eyes, the goal she couldn’t ascertain no matter what.

Of course, this all came to a pause when her eyes turned wide for a tad bit, finding a familiar smell in the air again, and this time fainter than the one she had felt not too while ago. A smell that she previously smelled in passing, but it had stayed with her for a while for some odd reason.

And this smell was virtually everywhere. And if one were to focus hard enough, even the Shamblers carried this specific smell. ’The perpetrator, I have met them somewhere.’ Whether this was an attack done by a group or just a single individual was to be investigated. But for now, dealing with this group took priority even dealing with the Shamblers.

By cutting the head of this group, this attack might be stopped. ’Direction, smell, location...’ Her eyes darted around the area while she jumped from rooftop to rooftop while her hands fired concentrated balls of fire toward any Shambler she came across.

And then she found it at the five-minute mark.

But not before the sky fractured an armless small figure walked out of the void, carrying with him an illusory body of what appeared to be a young man using what appeared to be Aura.

Transparent tentacles materialized of Aura. This was far from the simple application of amplification and range that Amir was capable of. This was directly using Aura as Extra limbs, and in Remira’s eyes, this was the first time she had seen Aura this concentrated on a person.

But more than the Aura, she was more interested in the person that was caught in this web of Aura, a man that would virtually not exist in the eyes of even Grand Master Ranked Knights.

’Someone so young?’ The figure had a beautiful face without a blemish. Appearing innocent to the eyes with a sunny smile that made this boy appear as the kindest being in the whole world.

But Remira knew, this thing was not a simple being, it might not even be a boy.

With the flames materialized on her body, she flew into the air with a single leap and approached the Legendary Being named Dearma and Rosso, who found the situation a tad bit fascinating.

And in truth, he was in trouble if one were to consider that he possessed no ability to divide the souls. Or use his soul to possess a new body.

That was not something in his ability, nor was he dead like his Creator. He had a form to return to and his soul was to fall here, then his body would die as well with no chance of revival, as his creator again was not here to drag his soul to the dream world.

This was a stupid move on his end, but he still made it out of arrogance. ’Is this what my creator felt?’ He thought, finding this whole out-of-boy experience a tad bit fascinating.

It’s such an odd feeling, although limited in scope, he could go anywhere and see anything. Instilling in him an omniscient feeling where he thought he could see and hear anything he desired.

’Such a perverted ability this is.’ His body was currently undergoing reconstruction under the huge feedback of curse power, and in turn, his soul had evolved again into a certain direction that was inscribed into his body, bringing him to evolve into a unique being at the soul level as well.

’This power... creator spoke the truth.’ Even while being caught, he had no fear in his eyes. Even when he noticed a familiar face and smiled, there was no fear in his eyes.

"Stop it right this instant..." She spoke aiming her sword directly at Rosso’s floating soul. But before she could strike, the Legendary Being Dearma looked at her, fascinated by her lustrous appearance before saying. "This is my prey girl from the Radiant Order, go down and get your own." With those words, a slap sounded out, causing Remira’s body to crash to the ground again, but before her body’s impact decimated an entire block, she used the boost from her flames to slow her descent before aiming to a street next to the houses.

"Are you crazy?" She asked, after her crash caused a small crater on the ground, rupturing the walls of the houses next to her.

"Crazy you say? Heh, look at this chick. She calls me crazy." Dearma said, looking at the bounded Rosso, before turning back to her. "You wanna see something crazy?" Dearma asked, crashing his neck a bit. But the result of that crack was a rupture around Remira to expand in size, in an instant, collapsing; no, crushing the houses around.

Remira, even after knowing what this Legendary being was doing, couldn’t do a thing under the suppression of his might. "This can be considered crazy."

"You..." And this left, her completely flabbergasted.

What just happened?

The smell of blood in the air was stronger than before, and so was the face smile on the armless man’s face. "Why kill innocents?" She asked.

Even this monster caught in the Dearma’s arm spared the mortals in a way. Though still not innocent, he only ever harmed the Knights, never the mortals.

But this Legendary being, albeit lacking arms, showed no remorse for harming the innocent lives around him. The lives of the weak, the harmless.

Just because she called him crazy?

This monster is an inhuman monster. She picked up on his smell noting it down in her head, but she didn’t dare to fight back at this moment. The opponent was too far from her reach, and if the perpetrator of this attack was captured, it wouldn’t be too long before this whole matter is forced to an end.
