Chapter 533: 8.11.1 Escape.
The majority of the Church knights were never from any Noble families. They were either orphans or children of their most devout followers. Among them, those most talented were chosen to be gifted with the blood of their God’s Most beloved Angel, Tamagurd, who also held the Title of Deception. A being capable of changing the very laws of reality with his lies, but depending on the lies he spoke, the backlash would be greater.
Many have noted the debt that comes with using such a broken power.
In the Past, Tamagurd had sent his avatar countless times to the material planes to deal with war countless times. Among these, the last declension was noted around a thousand years ago when the Church of Red Sun and the Truthful Deceit fought for the faith of the Brihma Continent.
No one knows what the lie that Tamagurd told during that time was, for that lie had been turned into truth. But what history did know was the result, as well as the backlash, where the avatar of Tamagurd was burned to ash the moment he had spoken of the lie.
It’s a destructive ability. An ability capable of changing the very fates itself. This is why the Knights of Deception always limited their strength to not exceed what their body can handle.
But the situation has changed, the Grand Priestess, the woman who was akin to a mother to them just died in front of their eyes. And the Murderer was right in front of them, not running as she should but coming for the life of another one of their Knights.
Fool she was, they won’t let her get her way, they won’t let her die. From this moment on, she will rue the mistake she made for eternity.
Such were the thoughts of the majority of the Knights. Driven y insanity, they gave up the mental constraints that they were taught and started to use their talent to completely manipulate the reality of their own body.
Which caused some odd powers and attacks to materialize. The worst being Knight Bright Leaf himself, who with the Lie of Limitless, had broken the constraints of his body. Causing him to bulk up, but never slow. No, he was much faster, his fist sharp like a sword, directly breaking the unbreakable chains of Sheva. Though the backlash also ruptured his arm, he didn’t care. As the lie of "health" took effect, he recovered in an instant.
While Sheva got surrounded, ready to face the Might of many of these Knights at once.
None of their focus was on Heroth anymore, even after hearing some of the words Heroth and Sheva had exchanged before. In their eyes, none of what Heroth does can make a difference. He was not important at the moment. He was just a simple sheep ready to be slaughtered.
While Sheva, wanted to escape, they couldn’t allow that. They cannot let her leave no matter what.
The ground trembled, and the church made out of holy Bone started to show fractures as the fight continued. And it was not an easy fight on Sheva’s end.
Even while being chosen, that absurd gun had broken her arm, and although she had a higher healing factor due to being A Grand Master herself. It still couldn’t compare to the cheating that her opponents were capable of.
And it shows, as in the last 10 seconds since the fight began, most of the chains that protected her body had broken down, and it was getting harder and harder to regenerate new ones to defend and attack.
But Sheva knows that if she is to deal a fatal blow to Bright Leaf, then she needs to give up her defense a bit. ’I hate this.’
Sheva is a trained sniper and guerrilla fighter. Even if knowing some close combat techniques and the recent experiences and training she had gone through, at her heart, she was still someone who fought from a distance.
This whole close combat stance of hers was more applicable when fighting a small group. As it provided a level of stability. But this is not a fight fought between people with cooler heads.
The enemy was chaotic, their mind unstable and there was a level of degradation in their coordination.
And well, the Court had limited space, and she was one person, even if the enemy had around 11 Grand Masters, only around four of them at most could directly fight against her in mortal combat. And unless the rest possess some ranged attacks, and they don’t mind harming their fellow Knights, then they might have just used it.
Which is why Sheva got the Idea of what to do.
"Unfurl." She spoke, causing the Armor that bound her to be undone, exposing her to all kinds of attacks.
Well, that is if the knights had the luxury to attack her.
"What is this?" They asked with a horrified look as the Four chains they fought against turned into twenty-one. Each of them is like a living centipede, flying with a mind of their own and always aiming for the head of their enemy.
"Enjoy." She spoke while ignoring the struggle of the rest of the Knights and then aiming for Bright Leaf’s life.
Of course, he was ready. Even if he alone had to handle six of these chains on his own, one more Sheva was not much of an issue. "Monster." He spoke, appearing more monster-like than her.
With his limits gone, his body was inching toward destruction while also possessing immense strength. "Blame it on your weakness." She spoke while using her finger to stab into the bulged muscles of Bright Leaf with her only remaining arm.
And he could do nothing against her at this point but look deep into her eyes. "Don’t treat this injury lightly... the nail is made out of Adamantite, with a wonderful poisonous nail polish covering it." With those words, she backed off from Bright Leaf and then ignored the Knights that threw their attacks on her back. She focused the entirety of her chains towards the Wall of the Court and attacked it with all her might in a particular pattern that increased the wound on the wall at an extreme pace before a small big enough for her body to go through was formed.
Of course, although this action barely took a second, her back was already filled with injuries with some bones and organs exposed.
But Sheva didn’t care for it one bit. This was the Price she had to pay for her exit. Which she made.
"Follow her." Many shouted, using the very same hole Sheva had escaped to, but once they came out. A Horrific scene was waiting for them.

Curses are illnesses of the soul, they gain strength from sacrifices, they’re spread through fear and superstitions and they are born out of nothingness.
Their existence still confuses the masses, but for the Curse Wielders, why they were born never mattered to them, The Curses are something to master, tools that can be used for one’s own advantage. Which is why they had developed countless methods to grow it stronger in strength.
"Sacrifices are for the ignorant, it is the simplest, but also the most annoying due to the karma it creates, and well, there is no need for you to do this unless you are forced into it and have no time to prepare."
"But in case you can prepare properly, then there are few ways."
His creator was a being of Dreams, a failed nightmare that could never complete his transformation completely, hence retaining most of the weakness of being a Wraith.
But that partial leg into the Dreams allowed his Creator to master a high level of Dream Mastery as well as understand the sensitive relation the curses held with human consciousness.
’They gain strength through dreaming as well.’
This is where Rosso’s plan came into play.
The nobles never cared for the mortal lives in this Country. They never cared when the mortals spoke of an increase in mosquitoes this rainy season. Most were used to handling mosquitoes in the city of Rain, Rudrain to begin with. So even if they found some odd mosquitoes mixed in, which the mortals talked about themselves.
This was not a problem for the nobles.
This is where and how the seed of fear was first implanted in the Mortal’s body. A simple mental suggestion was injected into the minds of mortals through these mosquitoes each night. While the Sewers were still developing the "Combat" model of the mosquitoes for future use.
In a matter of days, Rosso had succeeded in planting the suggestion in the majority of Mortals that he could find, which did make the Nobles as well as Churches guarded due to their sixth sense, but they never would have expected it to be something so simple.
Of course, this was just one part of the whole plan, with Rosso gaining little bits of negligible Curse Energy through this method, it might turn into a loss if he failed to play his cards right.
He did, causing mass hysteria among the masses followed by a Legendary Being’s suppression that forced these foolish but horrified mortals into a deep sleep, causing their dreams to be even more chaotic and filled with scenes of carnage. Making it much easier for Rosso to accumulate the Curse Energy at a higher Rate.
Which in turn started to force his blood to evolve as well. From the simple Master Rank to the Peak of the Master, and then at the 2nd-minute mark when the first Blood Flower victims started to kill their colleagues, their fear and blood caused a greater boon to Rosso’s blood, elevating him directly to the leagues of Grand Masters.
"Forceful elevation, this strength doesn’t feel real." He thought before looking closing his eyes and then using his eye of melancholy to counter-target the Legendary that had helped him so much.
"Sir, are you looking for me?" Asked Rosso, as his body materialized right next to Dearma who was hiding in the Void on his own.
