Chapter 506: 8.04.3 You made a mistake.

Among the teachings of this creator, the most detailed lesson that Rosso had learned was about cruelty.

"You are not to enjoy it, you are to use it to your advantage." Were the words of his creator, and Rosso had followed to the point without giving in to his desires.

Even now while he tortured the girl in order to force the Knight to speak, there was little to no change in Rosso’s emotion. He barely understood what he should be feeling at this moment anyway.

"Stop it, STOP!"

"Speak words that might satisfy me, then I just might." Rosso didn’t stop, not under any kind of reasoning that were thrown his way. He didn’t believe one bit that the Knight was ignorant about this whole operation. As from the words these two have spoken out of arrogance, Rosso knew that there was a woman at least, who had helped them find his location.

’If she can do it once, she can do it again.’

Though he still didn’t question a word about her, he just waited over what Rain might deem important enough to save his life.

"I will speak, I will speak under contract, but let her go."

"I am not rich enough to afford something so precious. So speak of all the truths you know, and I will pick and choose which one I like."

There was not much option left for Rain, due to the force behind him, he never had to struggle of face the consequences of his actions, which led to him cultivating an arrogant personality.

Just this instance for example. Currently, the Hamza family was well aware of what might be happening here, but they dare not come here fearing any chance of getting implicated. They had already made a mistake in hiding a criminal within their midst, so this much sacrifice is necessary to pardon their crimes.

Or so they believed.

’If they had come here... I might have survived’ Rain hasn’t forgotten when the whole situation turned for the worst. It was when he had exposed the fact that no one will be coming to this place.

The Current Rosso, although having an upper hand, was still considered weak in Rain’s eyes, if he had the even ten percent of his strength left, rain was sure that dealing with his enemy wouldn’t have been an issue.

The nerves once cut will take time to regenerate, and the overflowing blood had also weakened his body to a certain extent, but he didn’t complain much about it, such an injury would have killed an adept level knight.

Though at the end of it all, Rain understood that if he wishes to survive with the mage, he had to open his mouth. "We, we found you through your blood."

At those words, the little torture of Rosso came to an halt, before he turned to look at the fallen Rain. "I can understand where you obtained traces of it, but I still find it hard to believe it." Even if he understood that there were no absolutes in the world, but Rosso still believes that his eye of Melancholy was not so weak.

The creator has spoken why it was special, why it was harder to detect and why only beings above the Grand level can ever hope to detect it. Which doesn’t mean that those among the Legendary Rank can detect it, but it was only the bare minimum rank one needs before they can hope to find him.

So he found it absurd that the reason he was exposed was due to his blood, which was under the protection of his eye since the start.

"Why do you find it hard to believe, we are Cynark, the greatest in this continent and soon this world." With Arrogance, Rain spoke. "And in your particular case, the payment to find your location still stung our handler it seems."

There were no absolutes and now with the sting of a harsh price, Rosso can somewhat find it believable to some extent. "Speak the rest, how did you find it, what is the compass is about."

"Yes..."

******

It took an hour before Rosso felt satisfied with the answer, along with a small ring in his finger. "A wonderful Mage weapon, a space of three cubic meters in such a small ring." Inside it, Rosso found a couple of more scrolls along with the Compass he had heard about it before.

"Its you." Taking it out the first thing Rosso did was activate both of his eyes at once, the eye of melancholy to burn away any further hidden formation in this compass, while the eye of insight to understand how this thing operated. As from what he heard from Rain. The man didn’t know how it worked at all, he just followed up on his orders and used the tool that was given to him without ever wondering how this tool worked.

"Wonderful, this much capital, I can live like a king from this point on." Rosso spoke, giving Rain a deep look.

"I did as you asked, so spare her. I am ready to face..."

"That I will do, so don’t worry, I am a man that stand up to his promises." With those words, Rosso hunched down and put a finger into what seemed like two meaty flaps, that once used to be lips and then dropped an antidote that was secreted from his finger.

"This much should do." With those words, he turned to look at Rain, who seemed content after watching that the state of the mage was stabilizing, before he said. "Thank you." And following those words, countless water swords from the ground rose up, stabbing into Rosso’s body.

Which he dodged at first, but before long, more and more swords started to rise into the air and fall to stab into Rosso, turning him into a porcupine. "You bastard!!" Rosso looked at the smiling Rain, who seemed pretty satisfied that his plan worked.

Belonging to the family where the legendary beast Kappa was worshiped. A playful spirit that is said to drag the living into the lake, killing them out of its playful ignorance. Rain was born with the talent to control water with his fingertips.

But sadly, due to the Totem of their family only being a Legendary being itself, the highest that the members of his family could ever hope to achieve was Grandmaster, as none can’t break through the bloodline limitations that existed on them.

Until that is, when Rain came.

The Aura is the new path in itself, unlocking it before Grandmaster shows the potential an individual had in creating a path of their own.

And that’s what Rain did. "The Seven Sword Water Formation." Even when being unable to move his body, through his sheer talent alone, Rain had a breakthrough in his understanding and control over the water particles.

Which when added with the fact that most of the earth was still wet under the prior multilayer spell of Waterfall. This whole area was infected with Rain’s aura.

Now all he needed to do was control it and launch a perfect attack against an enemy that had the life of his lover at risk. So he needed to lie, he needed to give away some truth to hide his lie.

While he told the story, he strengthened his control over the area, and when the opponent in his greed took the ring and even healed his girl, he understood that no time was better than this one.

And he was correct.

"Hoo, I, I won." He said, looking at what remained of his enemy. Just some pieces of butchered flesh.

"Sara, we lived..." He spoke with relief, while he used his Aura to call for the Ring that held a communicated, causing Rosso’s broken finger to float up from the carnage and flew toward Rain..

Though what was odd was the speed. "??" And Rain noticed it too late.

"You, killing me like this." Came the sound again as the finger that was wearing the ring stabbed directly into Rain’s shoulder, while a body materialized behind that finger, a body of Rosso still covered i mud that had dired up compared to before.

"Things were going so good, why ruin it?" Rosso asked the astounded Knight who seemed to suddenly have a Realization. "NO!,.. NOOOO! NOOOOO!"

"You might be blind, but your mind is sharp... how did it feel too cut your lover... what was her name?... Yes Sara. How did it feel to cut her into pieces?"

If the Eye of Melancholy was for Defense, then the Eye of Insight was capable of looking into the truth of things, and Rosso had long noticed the odd movements of some mystical energies that were flowing in an unnatural way for a bit.

Some of which had already taken the form of what can be easily identified as swords.

"You monster... YOu fucking promised, you promised to let her live."

"You are making a mistake, I am not the monster here, I didn’t kill her.... But you, your are far too gone, incapable of speech, now a mere animal. Your life has lost its meaning." With those words, without even batting an eye, Rosso stabbed the forehead of Rain, killing him instantly.

"Hopefully, you live a kinder life the next time you incarnate back into this world."
