Chapter 473: 7.22.1 End of Amir.

Throughout his life, he had never felt so vulnerable before.

A single attack from a man he considered acquaintance had broken all defenses he could summon, bringing him to his knees and letting him understand how fleeting the life could be.

’This monster.’ Though barely floating in the air with his blood wings, he looked toward the fight that was taking place in front of him.

’He is a monster.’ General Vera, the known Martial God was adept at all kinds of fighting techniques, which were displayed by the floating arms made out of gold he summoned around him, which rivaled each and every tentacle that shot out of the burning meat goop that Farhad had turned into.

"Move... don’t think and keep moving." Amir considered it a stroke of good luck that the camp had already been cleared a while ago and most of the sleeping bodies were loaded onto the trucks. If not for that, the shockwaves from the fight alone would have caused a massive amount of damage to the people here.

Damage that he can’t afford. "Don’t touch the dark smoke, that’s spiritual flames, your body will be consumed with the slightest touch... " He warned the men under him, leading them out of the area of the camp while keeping an eye on the little dwarf who had just lost his arms not too long ago.

But suddenly his eyes lit up and he rushed toward the little dwarf and grabbed him by the helm of his clothes. "Sir, your arms."

"Focus on evacuation, leave this little one to me." Even with the high-class potion returning him from death, it would still take some time before his limbs are fully healed. So the simple act of dragging Crow’s body caused strain on his arm causing a slight fracture sound to escape.

But Amir didn’t care about it all, he just looked at the little kid who acted innocent in the face of Amir’s angered face and asked... "Wha.. What now?" Said Crow, acting oblivious to the surrounding happenings.

"You, you, or your master did something to Farhad, didn’t he?" No matter how he thinks, nothing makes sense unless he believes that this was the deed of the dwarf’s master, AKA the Jester. But he had heard Farhad’s words before including the scene of Crow’s hand which lacked a few fingers.

Jester was the user of sacrificial art, he used it to cast Hex in reality while he hid in the darkness on the other side.

It was such a perfect tactic that turned Farhad into his puppet. ’Or was he a puppet from the start?’ He also recalls the simple relationship Farhad and Amir shared, although as a third party, he had heard everything Farhad had spoken during his conversation with Jester as well as mockery of the little dwarf boy.

"I... I don’t know."

"Don’t treat me for a fool," Amir said punching Crow in the face breaking his nose as well as some teeth in the process. "Will you speak now, or do you want more?’

"Lord. Lord Ammir...ssss. I.. it hurts." The Dwarf started to cry again, annoying Amir to no end.

This little shit, he wanted to beat this thing to death so much, but he stayed his hand. Now, the only source of information was this man, he might be the only tool through which Jester could see into the field at the moment.

’Yes.’

"Jester... speak up, I know you are there." As such words escaped Amir’s lips, the floating golden arms that were holding back the fiery tentacles of Farhad erupted in an instant, causing random pieces of burning flesh to fall from the sky, scaring Amir, who dodged a few before his ears were filled with screams of the soldiers that were still busy loading up the soldiers into the truck.

"Drive!!" He shouted, ignoring the cries of his men as he understood that nothing could be done while he flew inside one of the trucks.

Right on cue, the truck started and left the area, leaving multiple soldiers behind, some among which were adept and one even being at the rank of a master.

"These deaths."

So many just died. So many because they were still trying to save lives.

All Amir could do at this point was abandon them and create some distance from the fight.

The only silver lining that Amir could think of is that none of the cinders of the black flames fell on the truck, otherwise, the deaths would have been tragic. "Hemant!" And then there was his Knight Hemant, who was given his own place in the corner of the truck.

A knight who slept soundly, unaware of the carnage that was taking place.

"Running with tail between your legs, I expected more from the Prince of Cynark." Said the fallen dwarf from the side, with his neck twisted in a bizarre way, which startled Amir who accidentally let Crow fall on the bodies of the soldiers who were forced into the truck. "Be a bit more gentle would you," I spoke, looking at the fool who still hadn’t caught onto the things yet.

"You, stop everything right now. Stop Farhad, otherwise, the lives of this little dwarf will be in your hands."

"Ho ho ho, so scary. All of this just shows you were not made for war. Just accept my offer, Amir. The world has enough warlords, what we need are bright minds that can turn this world for the better." Jester’s unusual kind voice fell on deaf ears as Amir was in no mood for such solicitations.

"He just grabbed the dwarf’s neck which was much thicker than a normal human and said while lifting him above his body. "Listen, these little lies of yours, I won’t fall for them. I am aware what you want is my blood more than my mind."

"And even if you are sincere, I would still not go with you. As I am far away from Farhad, he can’t touch me, nor can you harm me anymore... the most that will happen is this dwarf soul being searched till there is nothing left, his mind will be taken apart just like his body. And the same will happen to Farhad now that nothing is holding General Vera anymore."

"Without threat, your offer has no value, it can’t move me."

Hearing such a response Crow’s face twisted into that of a disappointed father, never expecting that Amir would say such hurtful words. "I never expected to use threat to change your mind, those things might work on weak willed individuals like your cousin, but not you."

"Flattery doesn’t work on me." Hearing such words, Amir couldn’t help but refute such a sentence that he had said multiple times in Planc Colony to the rest of his Knights.

But Jester was not the kind to use flattery. "Ho boy, these words of mine are true, you might be a bit of a fool, but you are definitely strong-willed. And I prefer such individuals to work for me."

"Can’t you see, this country of yours is broken? It’s barely sustaining itself using the fist over its people, and all it will take for such a fragile country to fall is breaking the only support it has." As for who or what that support was, no one needed to answer it.

"Duke Wortham?... Is this your plan?"

"Farhad said something about your changing him, that change, did you create him to kill Duke Wortham?"

"Do you really think of me as someone so stupid? Farhad is a good friend of mine, all I expect of him is to live a good life, but he keeps fighting back against me, saying I killed his father or something... Hah, he knows full well the kind of monster his father was." Jester appeared disappointed or so he made it appeared with his exaggerated expression.

As Amir was affected by heightened emotions, so he didn’t notice, but if a person were to look deeply at Jester’s mannerisms, they would notice that whenever he spoke, he always spoke and acted in an exaggerated manner.

But to most, they considered it his eccentricities.

"Big words for someone who just used this friend of his to attack me and killed so many of my men."

"Ho, who said it was I who did anything... this prince of mine, what Farhad is currently doing is his will alone, I have nothing to do with it."

"You!!"

Before Amir could respond though, a giant monster with bag wings fell on his truck causing it to crash into the corner of the road, which killed countless mortal soldiers in the truck, along with Crow how neck cracked under the impact while he was still held in Amir’s arms.

"No... this.." With barely any strength left, Amir slowly crawled out of the truck and the bodies of which some still slept through their death while others had a smile on their face even with bleeding bodies.

"This bastard." Getting out, Amir turned his body around and looked at the bat-like beast. "Farhad..." Before he could speak a word, he saw the body of General Vera stuck to the beast’s stomach, bound in tentacles, which slowly seemed to digest the General using the black flames that covered his golden body.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?"

Cried Amir, not knowing what was happening at this moment.

"DOING THIS WHY?..." The beast tilted its head, showing some confusion before looking at Amir again. "YOU WILL KNOW SOON!!" As he said these words again, fleshy wings turned into giant bony claws that directly stabbed Amir’s body without mistake.

"You..." This was the end of Amir.
