Chapter 470: 7.21.2 A simple end to the farce.

The truth was out, or so it seemed on the surface, the real game was something none were aware of at the moment.

"Give it to him." With the truth out, delaying any further might cause their opponent to act rashly, causing many here to die a pitiful death.

Deaths that Amir can’t afford, as these men belonged to his Cousin, a hateful cousin who tried to use him for his own selfish purpose. But it’s not like didn’t understand his cousin’s perspective.

Ludwig is not the kind to easily take a loss, nor does he look down on his opponents when writing the contracts. So although the little game he played on Crow early on was mischievous and filled with a sense of superiority over his triumph, he still did his best to leave certain conditions that would make it easier for him to fight in case Crow succeeds.

Which was impossible in his eyes, but who knows, miracles happen, and they did happen this time.

Faced with such a miracle, Ludwig had to depend on the little leeway he had left for himself and deal with this dangerous individual who now had dirt on him and could implicate him in the assassination of a Royal.

This is dangerous, so he needs to kill Crow as fast as possible.

It’s why in this game, knowing his cousin, he played this whole drama.

He believed that Amir was the kind of person who wouldn’t expose him for his offenses. He understood this from the moment that he met that Amir was someone like him to some extent. Early on, he even planned to give the talisman directly to Amir but chose to stop after thinking further and constructing a perfect scenario in his mind after a night of brainstorming.

He needs to end this farce perfectly, he can’t be implicated no matter what, and he needs someone who even after learning the truth won’t expose him.

So this whole game came to fruition.

"If you ask of it." Farhad was not well aware of what this item was, he just did as asked considering they had no way left.

So he got up and looked at Jester but chose to not say a word while he closed him.

"Ho old friend, no need to be so feisty and just ask away. Considering our fellow friend Prince Amir has given his consent to our little transaction. We don’t need to be enemies anymore."

But even then Farhad refused to say a word, knowing that whatever comes out of my mouth at the moment would have no real value at all. So he chose to remain silent.

Besides, he had learned of the current status of Number Two from the shape-shifter dwarf from before, and considering Jester was here, that dwarf wouldn’t dare to lie to him, Jester’s fav pet.

Or so was his reasoning at the moment. But I did lie. I have lied a lot.

No matter how good Farhad gets in his acting, I also knew that all those little gestures of his were just lies as well. Perfect lies to put my guard down, making it appear as if he really had lost. However, the one he is trying to fool would not be easily fooled.

The little tactics he was building up in his head were easy for me to see.

"Here you go." He said, handing me what appeared to be a small stone with a single runic word on it. And I didn’t shy away from it and took it from his hand. "Isn’t it easy?" I said, as I backed off from Farha’d attack which were a couple of tentacles that aimed right at my head.

"Hey... you sneaky little rat." My tone changed back to that of Crow, who seemed surprised by the attack but with changes of emotions, I made it appear as if I got a briefing from my master, meaning myself.

"You know, this is against the contract... you can’t harm me." The contract has stipulated that Party A can’t harm Party B in any way possible even after the transaction has concluded, which is to ensure there won’t be an ambush left after this transaction was done.

But it was then that Farrhad who had been taking it easy spoke. "The one who broke that rule is yourself.... These men that you just injured before, all of them are still Ludwig’s men." Farhad said as such. Causing my face to twist, which soon turned into a smile. "Ah, my bad I guess... But no worries, I got what I was here for, so I will meet you guys later..."

Though his words were not over, an attack came with the intent to kill, and this attack was a single crow that had turned into giant blood talons that eviscerated the very ground that I was standing on.

Taking out a bit of my flesh. "Ho, this is going to be troublesome."

I didn’t know when, but at the exit of this prison, there were two weird crows guarding it. One big and one small, with the bigger one completely shutting off the exit, while the small one aiming for the weak points from behind.

"Hey hey... This is cheating... I am younger than you guys, can’t you show some mercy?" I cried while dodging the strikes of the crow while Farhad just looked at me from a distance, without moving an inch.

His true job was just holding the fort, as the most he could do was small injuries, anymore the contract would take effect.

But it didn’t mean he can’t hold him back. "Amir, deal with this bastard." There was no mention of Title in Farhad’s words, he just acted passive in the current scenario, but Amir can be active.

Taking out a combat knife from his back, a layer of blood-red energy covered the blade as he aimed at his opponent. Which was me.

"Aura..." It was a thing that I wanted to obtain, but just can’t at the moment. My current Master rank was a fake one, forcefully brought up due to the ascension as a Totem. It would take me a while before I can stabilize, as for learning Aura, it can only be done at a very later date.

’Hah, having foolish thoughts again.’

The moment Amir closed in, my arm was cut in an instant.

"Fuck!!" I cursed, backing off a bit before brushing the little bird with my tail.

But all that resulted in was my tail being cut. "You guys are bullying me!" I cursed, transforming from a monkey man to my combat form which was a mixture of multiple beasts. This surprised the two, as this was the first time they saw this form.

"You think that form will save you?" In this close building, this was truly a foolish choice, the larger my body, the lesser the area for me to move. ’A trap.’

"This will be your tomb," Farhad spoke from behind.

"Ho, you think Jester will leave you alone if something happens to me?" I said, sacrificing my right arm against Amir’s Aura blade, which easily dug through my tough skin which before had handled the shot of multiple mana bullets. "Seriously... have some mercy on me... I am a kid in comparison to you guys."

I say as an aura blade suddenly hits me in the shoulder rendering my broken right arm completely useless. "Hoo.." As for my back, it was already riddled with the scars from the crow’s talons.

It would seem that my death was close, and it really was close at the moment. "You people. Inhuman." I cursed while falling to my knees on the floor.

And that was the end of the battle.

"Jester, make your move, I know this is not the end."

"What do you mean?" Amir on the side asked.

The battle just now, after making sure that Jester can’t escape was pretty easy.

This opponent of his had great strength, much greater than his brother Lucius, but there was a limit of such strength and with the aura blade on the side, this battle can be considered one-sided.

And why wouldn’t it be one-sided? That’s like a child fighting against an adult. And the only true advantage Crow had over them was using people as hostages, who he really can’t kill or do any serious harm.

So as long as he caught this little friend of theirs things would be much easier. And that’s what Amir did, using his summoned blood crows and Aura blade in conjunction to surround a monster like Crow and take him down in a single minute.

Which made Amir learn that his opponent might be a lot stronger than he previously assumed. ’But he still lost at the end.’ And it was when he was having such thoughts that Farhad made an odd comment.

"As long as Jester is here, we have not won yet."

"But even if he is here, what can he even do, isn’t he just a creature of the spiritual realm? Unable to ever interact with the real world unless there is this." As Amir said, he looked at the cut-apart arms of Crow. "Sacrificing the fingers of his men to cast such a bizarre hex."

"What will he do next? Kill his servant? Then who will bring that item to him?" Amir said, looking at the broken and crying Crow who really seemed to be crying in pain at the moment.

Making him really consider the words that Crow has spoken before. ’Is he really a kid?’

And as if to answer his question, Crow’s body suddenly shrinks down, even below the height of a human to turn into a bearless dwarf which still had some baby fat on his cheeks.
