Chapter 428: 7.11.1 The new talent.

Amir was born mediocre, or so he had considered himself to be. But the reality was much different than what he believed.

Only those who truly saw his feats would understand the kind of monster Grand General Deimos has created, even then lesser ones would end up looking down on him due to his age and his interest in engineering.

To them, those interests of his were nothing but time wastes and eventually, Amir would be overtaken by his competitors in subjects that actually matter.

But there was one thing that many of these people never considered.

Amir was a monster through and through.

He was born for warfare. The sharp mind that gave him an edge during research also worked as good whenever he led his army as a mortal soldier while training in the Planc colony.

During the countless battles during training where he was barred from using his transcendental strength, Amir has always won against countless tactics his opponents have thrown at him, which was proof of his adaptability and planning.

And for this social gathering, Amir made a plan as well.

If you wonder why go so hard for a simple gathering? The answer would be this being Amir’s debut.

No matter what happens, he has to show a strong front so that he is never underestimated by others in the future. They need to know their place in his presence, and this is the way he can ensure that his opponents will think twice before acting on any of their plans to suppress him.

Which is why, Amir picked up Lucius as the perfect tool for this job. He is going to make a clown out of him. A joke among the public.

A man with no prestige left after he is done with him.

Originally, Amir’s plan was to subtly offend Lucius, which would obviously cause him to blow up considering his personality.

But who would have thought that he would choose to act like a disrespectful fool so early on? Giving Amir the edge that he had been aiming for since the start.

"Hemant, I am happy to see you are fine, but why don’t you stand aside for a moment, I am having a dialog with my cousin here," Amir spoke to Hemant who was making a Knight’s salute to him while exuding the aura of a Grade three master level Knight.

And from the looks of it, his aura was stronger than Sarlen who followed Ludwig, which actually caused a small commotion among the Nobles as well as their entourages which was made up of young up-and-coming Knights, including the ones from Lucius’ side, who seemed surprised over the aura exuded by Hemant, which made his intentions obvious to everyone.

This was a warning for others to not speak anything offensive about their Lord, otherwise who knows what might happen.

"I apologize, master, I acted before thinking." Hemant bowed to Amir and gave a deep look at the opponent his master was messing with, feeling a hint of pity for this man.

As for the man in question, he started to laugh loudly. "Ah your arrogance, I love it. You deserve to come under me." After a certain level of disrespect, the tone of Lucius took a sudden turn. Now instead of looking like a useless enemy. He liked the arrogance of Amir.

Among all the five underlings of his, none has the spine to ever speak up to him. Like puppets with no mind of their own, they barely were interesting to interact with.

As for this cousin of his?

The foolish arrogance, Lucius loves people like this the most.

He loves to destroy the basis over which the arrogance of these people was built and then force them to grovel beneath his feet.

It’s the same thing he had done with his brother Ludwig, but sadly, his brother never understood and groveled beneath him, instead, even after countless beatings imparted by him onto this low-life brother of his. The defiance of Ludwig never disappeared.

But what of it? Not everyone can be like Ludwig and in his eyes, a man that would choose his brother over him was definitely not someone who had an actual spine.

Instead, in his eyes, he considered Amir to be a total fool who didn’t know his place and thought that being with Ludwig, gave him the right to speak with such a tone against him.

He was just like a stupid puppy that needed to be taught.

"Daring to bring me under you? I see you were either born blind or a total fool." This was the first time Ludwig had seen Amir talk in such a tone, so he didn’t know where all this confidence of Amir was coming from, or what he intended to do.

"Unaware of your position. You want to fight, right? How about we bring forward the sparring session? Let’s see if you have the strength to back it all up?" Lucius said, as bits of blood flowed out of his left eye, which soon turned into a crow that perched on his shoulder.

Causing an overbearing atmosphere spread through the event.

Making many gasps and back off from him.

Of course, before things could escalate, a voice came from the side.

"The Knights are always so hotheaded." This was Sehra Talhisi, daughter of Cynark Viscount and one of the lead figures of the younger generation of Tower of Arcane.

Considering how the gathering was done under the jurisdiction of the Tower of Arcana, the job of managing disputes in the event fell on her shoulders, as one of the hosts.

Of course, with her coming to stop this, there was a much woeful voice that said in a sarcastic tone. "These are not just any Knights, but Prince Ludwig and Prince Amir. There is no need to disturb their exchanges, instead, we should provide a venue for them to come to an understanding." The Water line mage Qubair Pulwas, had gone unnoticed through the gathering, and it was only now that people noticed him.

Which was odd considering how hard it was for mages to hide themselves due to the radiation they exuded all the time. Making some of the mage attendees a bit wary of him.

As for his words?

"Brother Pulwas, I thank you for your help." Even if Lucius was known for his arrogance and disrespectful attitude he had against others. But when confronting the mage named Qubair Pulwas, he appears more welcoming and shows genuine care for this individual.

Even going so far as to ignore Sehra who had tried to stop the situation was escalating. Which in a way showed that things were not as simple as the reports had notified him.

’Should have expected, the Tower of Arcana to have their own politics, it would be bizarre for the two tower mages to work together in order to suppress Ludwig. At least Sehra hasn’t completely turned against Ludwig, but this other one.’ Amir can’t say for certain what was going on in the minds of the old folks leading the current tower.

Were they aware that their two most outstanding Mages had already dipped their feet into politics?

’Well, they shouldn’t.’

Sehra on the other hand didn’t seem to budge. "I would deny this, the sparring is to be held on the third day." there was an obvious reason for the sparring event to be conducted at the very last.

There were countless events held during the event, which included simple horse riding to auctions and some exchanges.

There were even some festivities divided by gender due to certain unspeakable reasons.

But whatever the event was, no matter how hard the nobles played or enjoyed, they wouldn’t get tired easily.

This was one of the perks of being a Transcendent.

But sparring was different. After sparring, ignoring the accidents that happen in there regularly. The energy drain from sparring would make you inactive for two days at least, so people prefer to keep it to the very last day.

And besides, sparring is also considered the most fun event during the whole gathering, so of course, the best is left for the last.

Week three after the discovery and gaining back my freedom.

I walked on the battlefield while turning into a small monkey again.

With my brown fur, I easily melded with the trenches and turned almost invisible to most of the sentries. Even if someone were to discover me, they wouldn’t just treat me as some random animal that walked away from its pack and nothing more.

It was this way, I enjoyed my calm while learning more about my new state of being.

I was a totem now, and as more time went by, the more I started to understand what this new state of being brought to me.

’I see only glimpses.’

I can see the faded faces of my believers, those that worshiped me.

I could even see the faces of those who hated me with passion. Their chains were tinged with a hint of darkness.

While I could even feel more people who were aware of my existence, but didn’t have any strong emotion against me.

I can already imagine the horror this kind of ability brings me. With enough focus and if the faith of my follower is strong enough, I can even see their face completely and some things even more.

That was my current limit, and in general, this talent of mine was pretty useless when compared to the talents I had before.

For Example, I could see through the eyes of Hemant what was happening around him. I could see the drama and the disaster a fool was bringing to himself, and I couldn’t help but laugh.

’Ho, I need to bring this boy to my side... otherwise I can only kill him.’
