Chapter 387: 7.00.2 the glass slab.
I was only away for a few months and since coming back, my first destination obviously became Vegal’s laboratory, considering how many of my old friends were being given a new life here.
I had hoped they would grow and accompany me on this boring journey. But what do I find?
A failure.
"Don’t you care about those pitiful souls? How much they are suffering due to your incompetence?"
"Master, it’s not like I am doing it purposefully. Accidents happen..."
"Then let those accidents happen with the other ones, the ones whose lives hold no value."
"That’s the other issue I was wanting to speak to you about." It was then that I learned a sad reality. "All of them broke down after 2nd incarnation?"
"Only MK04T and MK07M remained among the living... obviously the former of the two just did that to himself."
Both of them were people I liked and both of them ended up surviving while the other test subjects failed to.
This I found a tad bit odd. But due to my ignorance of this subject, I didn’t comment much on it. "I will seal his soul in a dream space, let Soros Recuperate till you culture a new body/"
"Of course master."
"As for the notes I sent you before. Did you have any inspiration after reading those? Can I expect something new from you?"
The notes I was speaking of were written by Amir. It was his creation that had intrigued me enough to visit him. And it was those notes that made me realize that the world can be a lot less depending on magic.
As a non-friction motor would also make for a good generator, whose efficiency might be better than magic-based items.
So I was looking forward to Vegal if he had learned something new from them.
But he just shook his head. "I am too distracted these days, so I hadn’t had the time to focus on those notes as much... but I have given it to another department for research, I heard that some of the engines on the notes are already in functioning form. But nothing more than that. They still suffer from similar issues as in those research notes.’
"It’s good to build an engine on those notes in a month at most. So give those people a bonus if you could..." I left the library from the very path I walked in. A small ventilation duct that only I was aware of. Made purposefully into the system so that my eyes can easily keep a watch on these curious researchers.
And now in a small monkey form, I was walking the same path as my minions. Looking at what was going on in the facility before exiting it.

Walking out of the musty tunnels where Vegal’s laboratory hid, I took a breath of fresh air, while cursing the ventilation of the underground laboratory.
After leaving the ship and saying my goodbyes to Sheva and Selene who disappeared after the ship landed, I had only one thing in my mind. And it was to see what was the reason why Soros’ soul entered the dream world in such a broken state.
And with that answer given, my priority changed in that very instant. But first, you might be wondering what happened to those unlucky Slavers. Well, their end was something you might have expected.
The slavers who were kind enough to steer our ship were sent to the gallows. And it was not because they had seen and heard too much, but it did play into it.
What mattered was that it was funny to see their face as they cried in terror as their hope had been dashed to pieces.
Well, they tried at least, as all of their tongues were sliced off so that they could never utter a single word about what they witnessed on this trip. And soon, they will be silenced forever, never to utter a word ever in their remaining life.
Not to mention, I watched on the side as the kids I brought me seemed to enjoy the misery to some extent.
Though still of feeble mind, as they cringed and hid behind Sheva when they saw their tongue being cut, I can see the boy named Prithvi, he seemed to have kept one eye on the slavers as he enjoyed their misery to some extent.
No, from the mental fluctuations, it was closer to satisfaction and relief. Followed by a hint of wonder over where he might be going next.
Well, the next place he will be going to is an orphanage, a special place where special children like him get to grow up free from the influence of the outside world.
An orphanage of my own, where I personally teach these kids the virtues of the world. Or at least a part of me.
A part that is restricted inside the area surrounding the orphanage due to an oath by Selene’s mother.
But enough about that, I need to focus on my priority.
’The boy should come from the world of mortals, that I am sure of." His being from the other world didn’t automatically make him valuable. But what it did mean was that the boy was lucky.
Very lucky even. As even Lakyus was only able to enter this world again using a loophole that only he understood And the only thing he could bring back with himself was his soul. Nothing else.
While for most, their soul might not even survive.
So for a mortal to come to this other earth with a whole intact body. It can only be blamed on luck, or something more.
’Some higher purpose, that I am not aware of.’
The world travelers that have been noted down in history all had something special about them.
Although none of them possessed any talent for Magic. Some of them had tried their hands at other transcendent paths and succeeded. Some succeeded even through those things through their knowledge and wisdom.
And, some even ruined entire countries out of their curiosity over the concept of gods.
It’s impossible for these beings to stay silent for long, with time, people will become aware of their uniqueness.
So I wondered, what made Prithvi so special. He is just a child.
’His dream is worthless. But his memories aren’t.’
Now in my city, in my home. It was easier for me to enter his dream. And I did just that.
It was the regular scene from before, being chased by a big dog, which looked monstrous compared to the dream of before, a sign that the mental state of this boy was deteriorating, and I might need to help him soon.
But before that, I wish to see what the other side of this reality is like. What happened since I left that accursed place? A place with no gods besides the ones made up by humans.
And while the dog kept chasing Prithvi and the little girl whose dreams I have merged with Prithvi. I twisted my hand and a world unlike the current one appeared in front of my eyes.
’Hmm, what is this?’
The roads, the cars, the pollution, the population. There was so much of it.
I can smell the smells that Prithvi once smelled, I could see the world from his eyes.
A world that had advanced by leaps and bounds in the absence of gods.
It was a new world entirely, a world so disgusting yet so beautiful that I had the urge to go back to it and experience all the creations of the common man.
And I could if I were to dig deeper into Prithvi’s mind. But I don’t intend to do so, nor did I intend to see too much. I was only here for one purpose, and it was to learn what was the thing in Paradi’s bag.
’The humans here, all of them hold that item in their hand.’
I saw some of the humans speaking to the object and some seemed to be tapping on the object. Sadly, I couldn’t hear or see what it was, as this was just a hazy memory of Prithvi. The memory lacked clarity.
’I need to look at Prithvi using it.’ So I turned my hand again, accelerating the world as I saw an interesting scene from Prithvi’s eyes.
"Hmm?" The thing in Prithvi’s hand was shining with wonderful colors. Sometimes it would turn into text, and sometimes it would play a drama of drawn characters.
There were even times when Prithvi seemed to have received some messages, and he sent something back.
’What is this wonderful device?’
And as if to answer my question.
"Prithvi, get off the phone, it’s time for breakfast."
"A phone is it?"
I saw clearly, how the boy opened the device and how he closed it. Even the little fact that he seemed to have left this object called a phone after connecting it to something on his wall.
’What a wonderful surprise...’
I knew that object was special. That object might be the reason why Prithvi was brought into this world.
