Chapter 381: 6.13.1 You lie Remira.
A disgusting game was being played in front of her, and Remira knew that she was not an unwilling participant in this disgusting game.
"This meeting is not a coincidence."
"No... I don’t think it is anymore." What was her boss’s purpose in forcing such a meeting? Sheva didn’t know. But considering there were no directives given to her, she could at least act on her own. Meaning, that what happens from now will depend on how to manage this situation.
Manages a headstrong woman like Remira. "But there is no need to make this meeting tragic, there is no need for our two parties to fight."
"No, there is none such reason," Farhad spoke up, showing that he really didn’t wish to fight when there were strong gazes locked on to him.
Each of them is Adept level existence at least. Meaning, with a sniper above their head and being surrounded by powerful gazes, it was easy to see that their chances of success were not high.
Not to mention that weird Monkey man he met before. That dwarf seemed a bit weird. He seemed angry toward Remira. As for the reason, Farhad could only concur that it had something to do with what he spoke about before.
The dwarf got shot, and the reason might be Remira’s companion. Which is going to be an issue.
’That man is dangerous.’ Farhad could feel it. Although the vitality in the boy was not dangerous, he could tell that he was dangerous. And it’s better to leave here early before that dwarf arrives here. "So we will leave... just give us passage."
"Farhad, not now... I have to know why she is working for him after all she went through."
"Just listen to the boy, captain. This is no time to ask such questions... just go." Sheva was not in the mood for a conflict, not with Remira who she could see was not like her usual self. She was weak and lethargic, lacking the fire in her eyes.
But as this was the first time she saw her bloodline awakened, Remira appeared clear to her, one of the rare people with a white silhouette-like shadow covering her body. Which was juxtaposed with the boy next to her. Who appeared as dirty as the current Crow was.
While the mortal behind her?
She was, how should one say it?
She was blank. Which was the first for Sheva.
"Ho... are you leaving without saying your goodbyes?" It was then, that a monkey-like figure ran on all four and reached them. Standing right behind the Farhad.
"You..., back off," Farhad warned, as his body mutated and turned a bit taller.
"I am not going anywhere until she tells me the name of those two bitches... they fucking shot me." Vulgar language came out of my mouth, carrying a tone that Sheva was too unfamiliar with.
"Crow, back off. They are part of Master’s plan.... Otherwise, there is no way we would meet..."
"Of course, it’s his plan, he obviously wants me to find the woman who shot me. The very same woman who this knight handed me to...." My hopes were dashed to pieces, planting the seed of hatred in me. But a life of peace and quiet was not the only thing that was taken away from me.
But even my heart. She shot me in the head. So how could I let that woman’s companions go so easily?
Or so a person in my situation should act.
"And you people... don’t think me being here, you guys don’t have to fight for your life. There are others who are eyes off you. Leaving the four I have chosen, the rest come down from the ship and fight. Let’s see who is more worth it." I shouted to the ones on the ship, who were sighing in relief that a fight might break out between the two groups.
Two antagonistic groups whose fall would only mean that their chances of survival would increase.
But I had my mind on them, and as if to prove my threat, a shitty bullet from a flintlock lit from the corner of this cave where appeared a man who had purple flames floating around him. "He alone can take you all out. So don’t you dare?"
I warned.
Then turned my attention back to the trio, specifically Remira.
But then our hero came to the rescue. Proudly standing between me and the two ladies. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Just let us go..." The thought of killing the pirates was no longer in his mind. Farhad’s current concern was leaving this place before something bad happened.
Which will happen as long as Remira doesn’t open her mouth. "Oye liar Radiant Knight, aren’t you ashamed of hiding behind your undead puppy?" My words were made to be hurtful, I wished hurt on her, I wanted to rile her up.
But Sheva was in no mood for my antics. She warned me. "Crow, just back off. We will find the two who tried to kill you. But for now, you have to focus on escape from this place."
"Boy, that day when I promised you a better life, I never lied. Nor would those two fall to a level to do something so heinous... this is Jester’s work, he is putting false ideas in your mind." Remira said, blaming me for her friend’s crimes. So shameless, so stupid.
"Would you hear the bullshit she is spouting? She thinks that boss messed with our heads." I won’t deny it, I have messed with minds, but only for those who I deem to be enemies. But I am still limited by the fact that my victims need to be normal monsters, not Knights. But who would want to explain this to Remira?
"She is not thinking straight. And she is not the kind of person you think she is. She might just have been fooled by those mages, you can’t blame her for that." Sheva defended Remira, there was no reason for her not to.
Remira came when she was lost, she came to protect her in Pulgasiri when she was under security for working with Max to assassinate some powerful figures in the government as well as their relatives.
She knows how much Remira has done to save her. All for what? Just to learn the location of Jester’s Orphanages where Jester nurtures his men?
No, she knew the other truth, the real reason why Remira had protected her till now. ’She did all of that to keep her promise with Jara... who was not even dead.’ Remira might be many things. But she was not a bad woman.
She is not the kind to lie, nor the kind to break her promises.
And in case it did happen, then it would be out of Remira’s control. Like it happened with Crow before.
But who is to tell all the context to Crow at this point? There was no time for it. She could only hope he backed down.
Which was not in my mind from the start. "Miss Sheva, don’t be fooled by her. Do you think she would stay silent if we let her go? She would obviously inform the Cynark military about our ship and then we both know what will happen."
When I said these words, everyone went mute.
This was a threat that couldn’t be easily ignored.
Farhad was the son of a Military Marshall, and Remira was part of an organization that had high-level cooperation with the Cynark military, even if she was kicked out of Radiant Order officially. Remira still was part of it, due to the blood she carried.
And with the level of cooperation between Radiant Order and Cynark, it wouldn’t be odd if she were to use them to deal with us.
Us who were obviously working for her enemy.
"We won’t do such a thin..."
"You stay silent," I warned Selene, who was acting as a mere mortal among us transcendent. "The creed of Radiant Order... do whatever it is to deal with evil. I have heard stories of what your kind has done before, so I won’t put it past you to do the same."
"She won’t do such a thing Crow... We just need to escape, just like her... otherwise, she wouldn’t be on a Slaver’s ship."
There were similarities between their situation, both were forced to borrow help from these slavers and there was a level of understanding between Remira and Sheva as well.
But where it all differed was the perspective.
"And she is off that ship now... but the same is not the case for us... As long as she leaves the cave, she is free to do whatever she wants, while we will still be on the ship for weeks. I can’t a week till we leave the sea under Cynark’s jurisdiction... and who is to say if that they don’t overstep their boundaries in order to trace us?"
"She is dangerous, I am telling you," I warned her again and again, but Sheva was in no mood to do such a thing. Not to mention, Farhad, who seemed ready to lunge at me at any time.
"If you don’t believe me, then ask her yourself, will she or will she not expose our location?" If she was the kind to only speak the truth, then she should be able to answer this question truthfully as well.
Or so was my reasoning which I conveyed to Sheva.
Who after some thought, asked. "Are his words true?"
