Chapter 355: 6.05.2 Night light.
Amir looked at the faces and understood that something really wrong was going on, something he barely understood. As for what? He was actually curious about it.
But before he could ask what all of this was about, a light shot up in the sky. "What?" Before the people at the scene could understand, a figure flew into the air, breaking the sound barriers as he tried to meet up with the weird tube-like object that was falling from the heavens.
"What is that?" Even the two Archmage didn’t dare to waste any time, while Twilight Flower covered the soldiers in the area, including Amir in a shield, Black Sun rose into the sky in an attempt to support Musa.
But before he could do anything, the figure of the Musa and the object met causing a flower to blossom in the sky.
"What is this?" Black sun roared in horror as his figure hurled into the skies due to the shockwaves, while the magic shield he was always covered in trembled, veering on the edge of collapse, causing the fear in his eyes to increase by a tremendous amount.
While on the ground, Amir who had maintained a cold expression till now had fallen to the ground while his ears buzzed and the plant-like dome that covered him burned and dropped to the surrounding ground. "War..."
"War has changed." Jester, now donning the uniform of a soldier said while looking at the beautiful flower in the sky.
"One General dead." He smiled, and I smiled at the result of this test.
Of course, it was as one might have expected. He was the one that destroyed the assembling facility, and then another missile to the same location was just for dramatics with the added benefit of eliminating one or stronger powerhouses who might have gone there too And I was correct, as I felt a great life just got snuffed out in the distance, including some little ones who were too close and not under the protection of that plant like umbrella.
"What is going on Rithveer?" A soldier asked me from the side, just a random soldier who seemed to be a friend of the face I currently carry. "What are you staying here and gawking at it, deal with the commoners, if they panic then shoot at their feet, and if they still don’t understand, shoot at their head." It was a fun time, it was time for barbarity, and it was time for me to enjoy the things I hadn’t done till now.
It’s why I went back to my job, helping around the chaos and confusion that had spread, while making fun of the figure that walked to his death on his own, thinking he could punch it away like other Knights have been used to.
Following that missile, a few more fell soon after, and with no one to protect them, all the leaders of the colony did was look in horror as explosion after explosion appeared over the walls of their colony.
The houses clattered, the walls crumbled, and the children cried as more and more lights appeared on the horizon, turning the night brighter than day and then a big one.
A big explosion blinded those who saw it directly, the explosion in the gunpowder factory finally forced the city to deploy a magic barrier to defend against the explosion.

By the time the explosions ended, it was day already and I had one entertaining night, to say the least.
"Get in your house, now," I say, hitting the head of a commoner with the butt of my rifle, causing him to fall down and bleed.
But neither he nor his children said much and just ran away after getting up.
"Don’t these bastards know the situation?" Another soldier made a comment, looking at the trio leaving the scene.
"All they care for is earning a living, nothing else matters to them... " I spoke to the young man, who just scoffed and moved on. But I just stayed there, looking at the silent streets filled with marching soldiers and the fear some of these people had on their faces.
Yes, I understood why they were looking like that.
Never in their dreams have they ever considered a weapon like this to exist. And even if it did exist, why so deep into Cynark territory, how did it evade all the mage towers established at the borders to detect any aerial objects and reach Luthanza?
Questions after questions filled the minds of those thoughtful, while the fools remained ignorant, hiding in their houses and wondering when it would be their turn.
But for the soldiers, who were meant only ever follow the orders, their face was filled with dread. They understood what this signified.
"A war is coming." They knew in their heart that things wouldn’t stop there, this might just be the beginning.
But why does it have to them, the fight should be on borders, not here.
With such thoughts, the soldiers patrolled the colony streets along with me, with some weird mages who would appear from time to time. And when it was around 12 in the morning, I saw it.
"It’s here." A giant metal ship with four Wizard Towers as its sails.
"The legendary Mehmet’s War Fortress, the ultimate weapon of Cynark." As those words left my mouth, a total of two bizarre waves of energy passed through my body, but it was not like I was any special, as the whole city was under the gaze of these two figures that held control of the floating ship.
’Two Legendary’s, as the rumors spoke.’
And although it said just two, I believe that there should be more than just two on that ship. At least one more, one that is stronger than the two and might be close to the level of Duke Wortham who holds the Yethel border on his own.

Amir looked toward the surrounding devastation along with the dead.
’Is it my mistake?’ He wondered for a bit, but it felt absurd. If he was really that valuable, then one of the weird weapons wouldn’t have exploded over his head, charring half of his body.
And he survived because he was at the center of the protection circle that Twilight Flower created, what of the soldiers that were farther away or even outside the circle?
Of course, they were cooked.
The smell of their burning flesh easily overpowered the smell of gunpowder in the air.
"At least tell us now... where did you meet her?" Asked an injured Black Sun, whose voice lacked any awe he should hold for the royal bloodline.
And Amir also knew that this was not the time to act stubbornly. He was foolish to believe he could have any control on a bigger stage. No, he was just a frog at the bottom of the well. Just due to his identity and the self-importance he felt after his work was appreciated by an assassin, he becomes arrogant.
"Arrogance is not me>" He knew at this point that none of the childish emotions he held before mattered, he needed to change his mind with time. Well, it was already changed after watching this carnage.
"The mirror in my room, she used to talk me through the mirror." Black Sun didn’t seem that surprised by the answer, he just nodded and asked Amir to carry on. "She came to kill me as I said before, but didn’t after she found the engine I had been working on a tad bit interesting."
"Just for that, she would abandon a chance to kill a royal?"
At such words, Amir’s pride was hit a bit. "That’s not just a small project, it could change the world." He spoke with some pride and looked at the determinant look of Amir, Black Sun. He bowed down in apology. "I apologize for my offense, but please carry on."
Amir nodded and then told him the rest of the details, including how he really didn’t consider her to be someone who would be capable of something like this.
"I don’t think the organization she is working for is capable of such destruction, they are assassins, correct?" Amir asked, but Black Sun refused to say for a bit until his wife came and just sighed while saying. "Prince Amir, you should understand that matters of such nature are protected through contracts, we can’t say even if we wish to. But you might gain some answers if you were to look for it."
"Look for who?"
"Didn’t we say before?"
"The Rat King, Jester, or the wraith?"
"One and the same."
As those words ended, a droning sound reached Amir’s ears before he walked out of the tent and saw something majestic.
"The War Fortress is here... meaning my grandfather is here as well?" He said looking at the giant ship which was considered the strongest weapon in the continent.
Or it was considered at a time.
’It’s not anymore, not after what I saw yesterday.’
Those things that flew in the sky like a burning bird had left him with immense confusion.
There was no magical radiation in them, there was virtually no way to trace them unless you used some erudite means that were hard for a Knight like him to use.
Even if he did detect them, he doesn’t know how he could counter it with his mortal body. The only thought in his mind while looking at it was to run away. That was all he could do for his survival.
