Chapter 207: 3.16.4 Epilogue 4: I am here for justice.
"And besides, you know this as well as I do, they didn’t dare to touch their own people for this experiment of theirs."
"Grandma Po, you are protecting those inhumans?... Where did their pride go? Where is all that honor?"
"These actions of theirs have sullied the legacy of our people if the word of it were to get out. Our future will be in jeopardy. I don’t even understand how they even thought of doing that."
"It’s the fault of that bastard... I should have killed him before he poisoned the minds of my people with his theories and knowledge."
"Raman has been dead for decades, even he might not have thought that something like this might happen."
"Hmph! He sowed the seed with his very hands. Giving his followers a delusion of grandeur, the very followers who have corrupted the minds of my people."
"Seems like your mind is set." The old Grandma sighed.
Her allegiance was to the dwarves of Pulgasari, it didn’t matter what they did, she would protect them. This meant as long as these Dwarves’ actions bring good to the progress of dwarven society, she didn’t mind letting them do whatever they wanted.
Meaning that in her mind, all these cruel experiments were for the good and would be advantageous to Pulgasiri in the long run.
But someone much younger than her didn’t see it that way. He was still lost in his golden glory, unable to fathom that honor and chivalry were long dead in this world. It was a world of cold calculation and benefits.
Charts and profit margins were the reason for war and not ideologies like in the past.
Even the churches have calmed down and it’s been decades since the last religious war in any part of the world.
Because all of them understood one with. This was the age of information. The ignorant masses were not led by fear of god anymore, nor spiritual security. All they cared about were the benefits they could gain from the church.
What kind of protection they can provide?
Only then most would choose to donate.
A world that "Wolf" was completely unaware of.
"Before you go, let me ask you this... did you take that parasite’s life?"
"What? Is he someone you care about?"
"No, not at all... he was a fascinating being, I conversed with him a few times."
"..."
"Impossible."
With those words, his body disappeared once again, before he came across an alley in which multiple rats were dead not too far from Grandma Po’s shop.
"Truce?" Words are written in ancient Dwarven. Words formed by multiple rat corpses.
"How is this possible?" Next to him, the body of Grandma Po appeared. She deeply looked at the words, before saying. "As I said, he was fascinating... able to fracture his mind across thousands of bodies while maintaining his sanity. He is not like those wild animals from the past."
"This is dangerous."
"Yes... he is dangerous. So dangerous that I am not even sure I can completely destroy him."
"So you let it run rampant?"
"Not me, your people. Out of their fear of me, they used the old contract and added a few new rules to it."
*****
It hurts.
With a single hit of the light, all my bodies died at once.
Such horrific power, a lot more different than the records that were given to me by that old dwarf.
"Master... I felt some tremor in the dreamscape, did something happen?" Carp asked me, appearing in his ethereal form while his body was going through the operation.
And in this form, with my help, he was able to maintain some sanity.
"A relic from the old woke up... and knowing his personality, a bloodbath will happen soon enough."
"Bloodbath? Can I go and watch it?"
"No little fish... just focus on reading your notes and recall who you are... You are needed elsewhere."
While I ordered Carp to focus on recalling his true memories. His body in the real world was undergoing a harsh surgery. Done by none other than his own companions.
"70th eye." Like pimples, countless small eyes grew on Carp’s body, caused by the backlash of his curses.
Each of these new mutated organs contained a hint of volatile curse energy and directly popping these eyes would be nothing more than blasting oneself with corruption.
The only way to safely take them off Carp’s body would be to either rip it out from his dead corpse or to ask for some professional help.
"This is the 72nd one... how many do we have at this point?" A kind-looking girl Squire asked while her hands were covered in Carp’s blood. But after doing this a dozen times, she had developed some immunity.
"In total? Around 72... here, and adding to the ones at home, it would make it 634."
"Just short on a few more... we are so close."
It was at this time that Bardal, the vice-captain of the group walked in.
But unlike his earlier self, his body seemed to smell a bit ’cooked.’
"Squire, put your magic hands to work again... I fell into some lava." As his body walked out from the darkness, one could see how his whole skin had dried chunks of lava rocks stuck to his burnt skin.
How he was alive was already a miracle.
"Did you burn the blueprints?"
"Of course not... that old dwarf will directly give it to our master... But there is something I was able to bring from him." Then as if it was natural, Bardal stuck his hand inside his gaping mouth, dragging a small box from his stomach. "Some more tools, most of them magic-powered this time."
Squire didn’t mind the blood and saliva on the box, she just opened it and took a bone chisel out of it, while making a drunk face. "Ooh, I wanted this so much."
She was as mentally disturbed as the rest of the members of this team.

To the common people, the raid on the government facility, along with void events on the hill mattered not.
Most of it was hidden by the government anyway, so many were completely ignorant of the disaster their city had faced during these few days.
But what they did care about was something entirely different.
The earthquakes have shaken the populace. Some of the normal humans who were not used to living in such an environment opted to leave the city en masse. Fearing their death.
Or so was the excuse used by humans when asked by dwarves.
But the truth was much worse. And the higher-ups were well aware of it.
"Sir... is this true?" Although blind at the moment. When Red heard about the details of why so many humans were leaving. His face had turned ugly.
Many things started to make sense all of a sudden. Many things including the accident Salvarez had, along with why the government had tried to suppress all the details of this harrowing event at every turn.
Although this whole experiment was done and funded by a few radicals, it didn’t mean the government was completely unaware of it.
They knew what was going on. But have chosen to remain silent in order to wait for proper results.
"Just ask me straight Regskald, you are wondering if I was involved?" The chief of the CBI inspectors was an old Dwarf who went by the surname of Maw, full name, Thrain Maw.
A dwarf who had achieved countless legendary feats., but barely anyone remembers him outside of the higher brass of the government.
And also, Red or Regskald’s father.
So when Red heard his father use the name Regskald, he also directly spoke. "Yes... I wish to know if you were aware of it?"
Thrain had known this day would come, but he never expected it to come so soon.
Even then, there was not a hint of panic on Thrain’s face. He told the answer he had readied to tell his son since the start.
"I knew of the happenings, but I had no hand in it. But we both know that this is not the answer you are looking for."
"Don’t turn this into a teaching moment. I just want to know your answer before throwing you into jail."
"..."
"You are still a fool." Thrain showed some disappointment, before getting up from his seat and pacing his hand towards his son. "Just take me in... I have put in my resignation this morning already."
This was enough, this is what Red wanted to know.
After learning the truth, it hurt.
He had hoped his suspicions were false. He had hoped his father hadn’t acted ignorant of the happening out of some kind of fear.
But the tone of his father was enough to tell already. As he was blind, it was hard for him to see his father’s expression at all. The most he could do was learn from his father’s voice, how he was feeling.
And what he got from it was disappointment, mixed with some pride.

It was rare to see a tall dwarf in Bothal.
Most of them were usually the same size and build, blaming it on their bizarre genetics.
It was for this reason, this dwarf stood out among the rest.
Causing one of the officers, who was on edge due to events of the recent days to single him out at an instant and approach him with his baton. "You... your name and purpose for visiting this place."
The man donned an old dwarven garb that barely anyone used these days besides the old. While on his back he carried some kind of tall weapon bound in cloth.
A weapon that was double the size of the dwarf, making him appear a bit bizarre.
"Name is Virfin Bearpaw and as for my purpose?"
The cloth on the weapon unfolded, exposing a giant hammer as the body of the dwarf started to increase in size in the middle of the plaza, causing panic and fear among the masses.
"I am here to seek justice for my dead family."
