Chapter 194: 3.14.4 Its easy to take him out.

A roar escaped from Salveraz’s mouth, along with his sanity. While the spies around the house appeared confused.

But those in the know had some other thought in their mind. "That woman." Max thought to himself.

The roar came not too long after the woman went back to her house along with her kid. Making it easy to conclude that she had something to do with all of this. But considering her baffled and scared appearance she opened her door and looked toward Salvarez’s house.

The chance of it happening was low. That or she was a superb actor.

"Hmm."

That roar not only woke up some sleeping spies but also dragged some of them out of their hiding places as they rushed toward the houses of civilians.

But the problem was, that exposing themselves was an issue.

The walls of the house were broken, causing tremors throughout the hills, and making many wonder. "What is happening?"

But ignorant as they were, they did know all of this tremor had something to do with the giant bear-like dwarf that broke out of the house, making the spies panic while the families hid back into their house in confusion.

As for the officers that were planning to evacuate the families?

They became the first victim.

Bullets rained towards Salvarez’s body like rain, but none were able to puncture his thick hide, but the same can’t be said about the officers.

Before they can find a place to hide under the cover of the bullets, Salveraz bulldozes his way toward one of the officers, slapping him with his paw and turning him into a blood mist.

Berserk bear, a bloodline that can jump ranks easily in return for their sanity. The more insane they become, the stronger they are and the current Salvarez is a lot stronger than before.

"I have to protect that thing?" Max thought, looking at the police that were butchered without much effort. Among these were many adept-level officers who didn’t fare much better than normal officers.

"Meatbags are kept there to gain sympathy when the incident is taken care of by them... their death is exchanged for sympathy by the public. It was their purpose and they fulfilled it perfectly."

"Wha... What do you mean."

"Oh you know who we are fighting, Salvarez’s identity is too sensitive. Although a distant cousin to the main family, he is still of the Bastard bear’s blood and a celebrated one at that. His death might cause a lot of problems in public if the main family starts to push for justice..."

"...Unless they choose to suppress it on their own, which is only possible if Salvarez did something bad that there was no other choice than killing him." Max continued my words without an issue.

"Correct," I said to him, feeling a bit proud of how smart Max has become.

But then again, he was not a fool like Remira. Being an assassin gives one a good insight into things.

He can even see the next target on the collateral, as from the direction the police were running and their target, it can be seen the family who just sent him the bad news were next.,

And the dying police were leading him to them.

But before he could finally reach that place, something struck the body of the bear, causing a small hole to open up, through which a smoking bullet fell down.

A bullet that was finally able to enter Salvarez’s flesh.

"Shit!" Max said, knowing full well who fired this bullet. The only thing that he can be happy about is that the insanity made it harder for the berserker like Salvarez to barely recognize where he was even hit, he just looked around before focusing on his prey, his direction obviously changed than last time.

Now, he was not going toward the family. Instead, his direction was the very tree Max was hiding in.

It was something that Max couldn’t be furious over. But he was going to speak about this to Sheva after all of this is over, otherwise, they can’t work together no matter how much the two cover for each other’s weaknesses.

On the other hand, Salvarez, drenched in the blood of the people he once called acquaintances, rammed into the body of the tree that Max was hiding in, causing the stump of the tree as well as Max to fall toward the ground.

But Max didn’t move, he kept sticking to the tree while it lay there broken, while Salvarez had already found some new targets.

"Salvarez, I knew you would go mad one day," Gaitoynde said while his body turned silver-like metal as he collided with the maddened bear, slowing him down for a little before Salvarez picked Gaitoynde with his hand and tried to bite off his head.

There were a few sparks, as dents appeared on the metallic body of Gaityonde, dents that were getting deeper and deeper. "Don’t get arrogant. An animal should have its place."

With the sound of a ~swuuk, his two hands turned into cleavers, striking the nose of Salvarez. Stunning him, which gave Gaitoynde an opportunity to escape his clutches.

A noble act on the surface, but he only joined in knowing that he wouldn’t be killed for there were people who would just in to protect him if things got serious. And although his act would save some of the collateral that was taken into account by the Blue while building up his plan.

Gaityonde did this for himself, acting like a caring officer who came to the rescue of his understudies.

But it would seem he bit off more than he can chew.

As under the annoyance of someone striking its nose, the Bastard Bear Salvarez turned angrier than before, increasing his size and muscle mass. And before Gaityonde could react, a panic strike from the beast struck him down. Flattening him on the ground.

If not for him hurriedly deploying a guard by turning his hands into a shield, his head would have been crushed.

But this was not over yet.

Salvarez was like a mad child, striking a toy that hurt him again and again, crushing Gaityonde deeper and deeper into the ground.

Like a toy, he couldn’t fight back against the cruelty of a child. There was not even a time for him to cry nor even time to think about regrets.

There was nothing in his mind as he had long lost consciousness.

And before the final strike of the child crushes this toy, Salvarez’s body stumbles, before stepping back a bit and then falling. Before several stones crashed down on him.

"You fool," Red said, looking at the bleeding Gaityonde, whose metallic transformation was coming off. Then he turned to look at the monster that was ignoring the weight on his body and getting back up.

Red knew that the whole plan was messed up. As for how it happened, he didn’t know.

He had chosen to remain far from the hill in an attempt to not startle Salvarez due to the radiation his body gives off as a mage. But who knew, that this choice would lead to the death of so many officers?

He didn’t regret it though. It’s rare for their plans to go smoothly. Originally, they were going to send a small delegation who were meant to ask for Salvarez’s surrender. An odd choice of words considering he was not a criminal.

But when CBI was involved, everyone was treated like one even if they just wished to ask some harmless questions. Not to mention, it would seem that Salvarez had a lead on the suspects they were following, but had chosen to remain in hiding, obviously fearing some repercussions by the parties involved.

And considering what happened to him, Red understood why he acted the way he did. But by keeping all that information to himself, didn’t Salvarez consider he was just acting as an obstacle to the investigations?

Didn’t he know that he was on his side as well?

Blue’s priority might be capturing the assassins targeting the citizens with a sensitive background. But Red was to find out the third party involved in this case. People were probably backed by powerful people who were responsible for the recent chaos in the city.

Chaos that would either be ignored by the police or suppressed before it reaches the ears of the ruling party of the city.

But it didn’t make them blind, and Red had hoped to talk with Salvarez and learn from him what actually happened or any clue of who these people might be.

Sadly, it would seem that either Salvarez had truly gone mad, or those enemies got to him first.

"Salvarez, I don’t know if you can hear me or not... but I am not to harm you here. Just relax." Throwing the body of Gaityonde into the distance, Red Danced his hand in the air, as more stones started to cover Salvarez’s body. Even the tombstones from the nearby cemetery flew over and covered Salvarez’s body, causing him to drop down lower and lower.

An odd scene in the eyes of many, considering that Salvarez can turn these stones into dust with a single strike. But after being enhanced by Red’s magic, they were far heavier and stronger than one might expect.

"Blue, seal him."

"You came here earlier than me," Blue said before his hand danced in the air and a cool breeze flew from his hand, turning the small hill that Red created into an icy mountain.

A mountain that suppressed a monster under it.

"This has turned problematic," Red said, still hearing the roars and grunts of the beast under all that snow.

"Problematic?... He killed so many. All that arrogance of being able to control himself. Now see what happened just because his leash was loosened."
