The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 99: Lunch with the Boys
Chapter 99: Lunch with the Boys
Xuan Jian was a charismatic sight in the bustling wonton stall, with his furrowed brows and polished appearance. His long brown hair, in a simple bun, and striking grey eyes added to his overall appeal.
His usual icy demeanor, especially when playing the role of Xuan Yang’s servant, seemed to have melted away today. Instead, he exuded a confident and charismatic aura, making him look even more handsome and attractive.
Wearing a finely tailored robe that complemented his features, Xuan Jian appeared second to none, rivaled only by the man sitting beside him, Xuan Yang.
Xuan Yang’s bookish look provided an interesting contrast to Xuan Jian’s more rugged charm.
Despite the furrowed brows on his handsome features, Xuan Jian’s presence was undeniably attractive.
"Dogs?" Xuan Jian seemed a bit disdainful.
The look on his face made Xu Feng want to laugh. The usually more relaxed Xuan Jian was showing so much disdain for common dogs.
What was wrong with dogs?
Did snakes have a feud with dogs Xu Feng didn’t know about?
"What’s the matter with guard dogs?" Xu Feng asked with a hint of amusement in his voice, his lips curving into a mischievous grin.
"If they were for your amusement, it would be alright," Xuan Jian made the clear distinction, "but for guards, wolves are a better choice. I’ll catch a few wolf pups for you in the spring."
The ease with which Xuan Jian mentioned such an idea left Xu Feng in awe. Where wolves so easy to be messed with...
Xuan Yang simply nodded in approval, as if the idea of hunting wolves was simple enough.
It was clear that these two men were not ordinary, and they possessed abilities and knowledge beyond the norm by Xu Feng’s standards.
While wolves seemed like a bad-ass choice for guarding the estate, it was only further confirmation that the two men seated with him were unlike anyone Xu Feng had ever known in either life.
Xu Feng found himself caught between amazement and disbelief, but he had learned to adapt to this new world and the unique qualities of the people he now considered his people. He couldn’t help but chuckle as he responded stiffly, "Well, if you can handle wolves, then I’ll trust your judgment..."
If Xuan Jian wanted to hunt wolves, and his lover thought it was a good idea, it must not be a big deal to them. Xu Feng acting surprised and alarmed would just be weird and uncalled for.
Xu Feng’s initial surprise faded quickly, realizing that in this world, maybe hunting wolves was likely a more common and manageable task for those with immortal blood.
He didn’t want to appear too ignorant in front of his two companions. Instead, he nodded in agreement, showing his trust in Xuan Jian’s judgment.
Xu Feng covertly looked around at the silent enclosure, those left in the interior of the wonton stall were clearly listening in on their conversation.
He’d almost called Xuan Jian, second husband in public. That could be their inside joke, but he planned to live here after the divorce and still wanted to keep a clean reputation if possible.
"Hmmm," Xuan Jian nodded approvingly, conscious of Xu Feng’s assessment of their surroundings. He would add the wolf hunt to his own list of things to do while in Nanshan estate.
"What else do you have planned for this trip?" Xuan Yang probed this time.
Just as he spoke, the hesitant auntie mustered the courage to approach their table. Her service was a tad unsteady. "What would the young masters like to eat from this humble stall?" she asked timidly.
"Auntie," Xu Feng began, his tone warm and charming, "the wontons were so delicious last time that I brought my...friends here to enjoy them. We’d like to have the same as last time."
As the auntie looked up at him, recognition flashed in her eyes, remembering the silver-haired beauty she had served a few weeks ago.
The ger was just as captivating as she remembered. Full lips and enticing eyes adorned with a new pair of earrings in his ears. The auntie couldn’t determine which of the men was the ger’s husband. "Welcome back, young master, and thank you for patronizing this humble stall."
She took furtive glances at the two handsome men, both of whom were good-looking enough to marry such an attractive ger. "Congratulations on your marriage."
The woman stuttered, her gaze wavering between both men, awaiting one to assert himself as the ger’s spouse. Yet neither spoke up, and Xu Feng held back from introducing either of them.
Instead, he presented a charming smile and was ready to place his order. "Thank you, auntie. We’ll have three extra-large bowls of wonton and one large bowl. The large bowl is for me."
Xu Feng then pointed out Erlang who was sitting outside, "Please give the rest to my companions."
The woman seemed a bit blindsided; her curiosity was piqued, and she wanted to know which man the ger had married. Or perhaps he had wed a wealthy older man, and now he was out with young handsome men so soon after getting married.
The woman’s thoughts weren’t entirely transparent, but Xu Feng couldn’t help the twitch in his lips. It was clear what kind of assumptions the auntie was making about them. He also had a bit of a gossip heart when it suited him.
He had two husbands who were actually lovers, okay. He wasn’t out and about with unrelated men. He was a respectable married ger, at least until his contract was null and void.
The woman collected herself after a few heartbeats and said, "Your order will be ready shortly, masters."
Xu Feng glanced around at the curious onlookers, noting the mix of interest and confusion among the patrons in the small stall.
As soon as the woman was gone, and stopped making not so sly backward glances at their group, Xuan Yang was the one to break the silence with a low almost inaudible laugh, followed by a fake cough from Xuan Jian.
Xu Feng looked at the two men feigning ignorance before smiling a deep dimpled smile. He couldn’t take these two anywhere. They were already ruining his good name; he would need to come to town less.
