The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 96: Turning Tables

Chapter 96: Turning Tables

Xu Feng blinked slowly as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. Although he was still blushing fiercely, it became clear that the tables had turned. There was no other reason for them to fight over a seat in the back of the carriage if it wasn’t because they wanted to be near him.

With an air of mock haughtiness, Xu Feng declared, "I know my beauty is too great to be missed for even a moment."

At his words, all three men paused before laughter filled the small space. The laughter was infectious, and Xu Feng began to feel better.

The embarrassment was fading. After all, they were all around the same age, and they all had their own experiences or lack of experience, even if they were quite different. It was perfectly acceptable to not always be calm and composed.

They may not be entirely human, considering their lineages were descended from demon beasts, but they were still considered human, and humans were allowed to have their moments of imperfection.

The laughter in the carriage had subsided, and Xu Feng looked at his two husbands. It was time to make an honest declaration wrapped in a bit of nonsense.

Until the contract was up, these two would be his husbands in every sense of the word. Whether it was in name or in bed, he was going to maintain his high standards, which had served him well thus far.

It had gotten him pretty far already.

With a confident tone, he proclaimed, "I agree to have two husbands. But remember, you both need to work harder to spoil me!" His rich young miss persona was in full effect, and it seemed like his birthright to be pampered by both the Main Lead and the Main Character.

This might not be his Cinderella story, but he was determined to ensure he had a happy ending throughout his time in their story.

Once his role was complete, they could live happily together without him. But for now, he would be the third wheel in their story.

"We don’t need to share money, but we cannot be a divided house," Xu Feng continued, his tone serious now. "I don’t think the Xuan family can stand me, but as long as we’re in partnership, the three of us need to stand united."

*SIGH

Xuan Jian sighed, acknowledging the truth in Xu Feng’s words. The Xuan family had revealed their true colors without any pretense.

Xuan Yang nodded and spoke, "Two more trusted servants are coming from the main house in the next few days. They’ll bring a few more of Xuan Jian’s and my things."

Xuan Jian added with a smile, "We trust them both as much as Jie and Bo. They are like an extended family to me."

Xu Feng nodded, glad to hear that more people would be joining them.

At the moment, Bo was left at home with Si and San. The official reason was that they were helping to clean up the Flowering Courtyard vacated by the Xuans, but the real reason was Xu Feng’s unwillingness to share a seat with the two girls and his two husbands, having already caused enough embarrassment for one day.

He had scarred them enough for one lifetime!

Jie had gone...Xu Feng wasn’t exactly where the man had gone. He set off on a horse, and Xu Feng was uncertain about his destination or time of return. The man had left before Xu Feng returned from changing his clothes.

The Nanshan estate didn’t have many inhabitants, but now it boasted five horses. Xu Feng was unaware, but horses were rare and expensive creatures in Donghua and were closely controlled by the court. The fact that he had five stabled at his home was noteworthy gossip in a smaller town like Yilin.

Erlang, the last remaining resident of Nanshan estate, was courageously driving the horse-drawn carriage to Yilin town.

Xuan Yang shared some information with a sly look in his eyes, "Jie is headed to Beiyin town for the night. He’ll buy a few servants for the estate at first light. He’s quite skilled at judging characters."

Xuan Jian added an important piece of information, saying, "There are no official slave markets in Yilin town, and during the winter, many who are unprepared for the harsh season decide to sell themselves or family members to ensure their survival."

Xu Feng looked at both men, trying to decipher their expressions. Xuan Yang appeared as if he might be seeking a compliment, but it wasn’t entirely clear. On the other hand, Xuan Jian seemed to be sharing the information earnestly, unaware of his companion’s intentions.

A small smile crossed Xu Feng’s face. These two men were invaluable to have around. He didn’t have experience picking and choosing servants, as it wasn’t something he’d encountered in his modern life.

He was grateful to have someone else manage this for him.

Their willingness to support him in areas where he lacked experience was more than he could ask for.

He planned to reimburse Xuan Yang when the necessary deeds were transferred. Though he wasn’t wealthy, he had enough resources to get through the winter and stock his home.

There was no need for him to be greedy. Even with a young master.

Xu Feng rose from his seat in the carriage, though he had to hunch over due to his height—the curses of being a "manly" ger. The swaying motion of the vehicle was disorienting at first, but it didn’t deter him from approaching the confused men.

Xuan Jian extended his hands as if to catch Xu Feng, who responded with a mischievous grin. He pushed Xuan Jian’s hands aside and settled onto Xuan Yang’s lap, taking a seat that looked tempting on the man’s thighs.

Xuan Yang’s mind raced with questions. What was Xu Feng doing in broad daylight, outside the privacy of a bed chamber?

Ignoring the panic that flickered in Xuan Yang’s eyes, Xu Feng leaned in and pecked him on the cheek, saying, "Thank you." He then shifted to Xuan Jian, planting a chaste kiss on his cheek as well, and thanked him too from his perch in Xuan Yang’s lap.

Afterward, Xu Feng returned to his own side of the carriage, offering a reassuring smile to the two red-faced and confused men. He turned his attention to the window, ready to spend the remainder of the ride making calculations for the supplies he needed to purchase.

It was going to be a long winter.
