The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 95: To Yilin Town

Chapter 95: To Yilin Town

The carriage continued its steady journey towards Yilin town, providing a luxurious level of comfort that Xu Feng, nestled within its plush, upholstered seats, couldn’t fully appreciate.

The blush that still tinged his cheeks was like a lingering note of seduction for all those present. It had begun to fade but remained an eye-catching backdrop to his striking silver hair.

Xu Feng had chosen a change in clothing, aiming to blend in better during his visit to town. However, he couldn’t escape the fact that he was now a newlywed ger with an ear pierced, not to mention the conspicuous red mole on his head.

His past vows of discretion (in the crowds in Yilin town) seemed difficult to support, and even if he were not accompanied by the two eye catching men seated in front of him, the task would still be an impossible one.

While the personally crafted padded jacket he wore was more affordable than the luxurious furs he had received from a certain grey-eyed man, it still had the potential to draw attention from the townsfolk. Xu Feng hadn’t predicted this when selecting his outfit for the outing.

Although he appeared outwardly relaxed, his eyes fixed on the carriage floor or the stark winter landscape passing by, was trying his patience.

It seemed that being around Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian had transformed him into a chatterbox, even though all three of them were generally more silent. He was often the one breaking silences.

It was an odd realization. Since entering the carriage, both men had maintained silence, and only the sound of Xu Feng’s racing heart broke the hush. This silent companionship was comfortable for Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian. However, it made Xu Feng feel an urge to speak, as if the stillness was oppressive.

*SIGH

The notion startled Xu Feng, raising a question: why? Because it was true.

Whatever had happened was in the distant past—not so distant, not distant at all, but no one could convince him otherwise—he needed to regain his self-control when dealing with these two playboys and stop dwelling on his past moments of embarrassment.

His reputation as a master of seduction remained undamaged—in his heart at least—and he was not yet defeated by the sly and cunning snakes.

"You sigh quite frequently," A joyful voice shot at Xu Feng.

The urge to respond with a glare to the grey-eyed man who was having fun at his expense was strong. But Xu Feng knew better; he was the master of seduction, and he needed to get a grip on the situation.

Yet, despite his intentions, he couldn’t resist the temptation. He turned his gaze into a glare, although it was tinged with a hint of appraisal.

He lifted his eyes to meet the alluring and cheeky smile on Xuan Jian’s face. The man’s sexy features and lean physique were hard to ignore. He seemed thinner and less muscular than Xu Feng had previously thought.

That was the difference between a clothed Xuan Jian and a naked one, and with that thought, Xu Feng’s face felt like it would never go back its original color.

As the heat of embarrassment flushed his face once more, he didn’t avert his eyes this time. Instead, he openly assessed his newest husband. Slowly, his eyes traveled up and down, appraising Xuan Jian before shifting his gaze to the other man.

Xuan Yang was seated right beside Xuan Jian, sporting a broad smile that was larger than any Xu Feng had ever seen on his face. He looked absolutely enchanting, embodying a "boy next door" or "scholar next door" charm, if there ever was such a thing, with his beaming expression.

Xuan Yang’s handsomeness was not overshadowed by Xuan Jian’s charms. In fact, he had a unique and delicate beauty that was often hidden within the Xuan residence, where he typically wore a scowl or maintained an indifferent demeanor. It was rather interesting that strangers had more opportunities to witness Xuan Yang’s full glory.

Xu Feng shook his head, as if trying to clear the bewitching influence of the two snakes—although, only slightly. "You look so beautiful when you smile," he remarked, addressing Xuan Yang.

The smile on Xuan Yang’s face deepened and became even more relaxed. Xu Feng had a habit of speaking his mind without much filtering when these men were around.

Xu Feng truly had loose lips. How many ships would he sink?

How many ships had he already sunk?

But it was all worth it, just to witness that expression on Xuan Yang’s face.

"And you are a beauty as well," Xuan Jian chimed in with a laugh.

Xu Feng couldn’t help but smile. He still felt a little embarrassed, but the overall atmosphere was pleasant, and he loved seeing the two men in such high spirits.

"The ride to town is taking longer than I remember," Xu Feng commented, a hint of surprise in his voice. Carriages were supposed to be faster than bullock carts.

Xuan Jian responded with a tinge of guilt, "Your servant is new to driving a carriage. It’ll take him some time to get used to handling horses."

This response prompted a laugh from Xuan Yang. "Hahaha, and whose fault is that?" he said with a teasing grin. It was as if he had discovered the Achilles’ heel of his lover.

Xuan Jian gestured for him to hush, but Xuan Yang continued, relentless in his playful jabs. "You were the one so insistent on riding in the carriage. If you had driven, we would have reached the nearby town by now."

Xuan Jian didn’t let this go easily. "Well, why couldn’t you drive, then? Your family is nowhere to be seen. Is it not because you also wanted to enjoy the comforts of the carriage?"

Now the two men began to engage in playful bickering, both of them intentionally avoiding eye contact with Xu Feng, who watched their exchange with an amused smile.

Xu Feng blinked slowly as the pieces of the puzzle started to fit together. Why would the two men be so committed to riding in the carriage? They had no doubt ridden in many more luxurious carriages before. This was the country estate’s carriage used by Steward Wu, not the young master’s carriage.

While he was still blushing fiercely, a realization dawned on Xu Feng—the tables had turned. Why else would Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang be so eager to secure a place in the carriage if they weren’t trying to be near him?
