The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 552: ...Second Nap!

Chapter 552: ...Second Nap!

Xu Feng turned toward the sound of the voices and was greeted by two small faces he hadn’t seen in a long time. Lee Mo and Lee An, Lee Hua’s children, stood there with big grins, holding little baskets in their hands.

Whether they knew they were seeing the once thought to be dead or not, was unknown. Maybe they just thought he’d gone on a small trip...

"What’s this?" Xu Feng asked, crouching down to meet their height.

"Dad said to bring these for you!" Lee An exclaimed, her hands extending the small basket toward Xu Feng.

Lee Mo added, "It’s for you and the dragons!"

Their excitement was contagious, and for a brief moment, Xu Feng forgot his worries. He accepted the baskets with a warm smile.

"Thank you," he said, patting their heads. The light but distinct smell of the dried flowers the two children had picked for him was hard to ignore or dislike. "Have you had breakfast yet?"

Both children shook their heads enthusiastically, their cheeks pink with excitement.

"Good. Breakfast will be served soon."

Before the two children sprang into action, Lee An had a few words to share as if she were completing a mission with her employer. "We took good care of them."

With that, the two children scurried off, making a bee line for the two babies. Their chief targets had now been unlocked! They clearly weren’t looking for any praise either.

Lee Mo pounced on the seating area with relish, his laughter echoing.

"Da Long, Xiao Long, this brother missed you so much!" He sang in a sing-song voice.

No one had explained who the babies were, but the little ger knew somehow. He even picked the right baby for each name, turning his head at the right times.

Xu Feng lifted a brow at this skill. Was it just dumb luck? Maybe. He had asked them to be playmates and watch over his children...

Still, he couldn’t help but smile as the four children seemed like long lost friends. The two babies seemed to recognize Lee An and Lee Mo too.

Both Lee An and Lee Mo HAD taken good care of his children.

Back at the stove, the buns were finally ready.

Xu Feng carefully arranged them in a steamer while Xu Si and Xu San prepared the dining area. The aroma of freshly cooked meat wafted through the air, mingling with the scent of congee and stir-fried vegetables.

It was Lee An and Lee Mo who helped with the final touches, helping the two girls carry the futons and blanket over to the dining area. The two young masters had already eaten, but they couldn’t or shouldn’t be too far from the adults.

Xu Feng didn’t know just how much mischief Da Long and Xiao Long could get up to when they were just eggs, but the others did. And no one knew exactly how far they could get in their current forms.

There were two different reasons for wanting to keep the children close, but either way, everyone was in agreement—both cubs needed to be in eyesight at all times.

In the end, Lee An and Lee Mo ate on the futon with the two cubs. They were both excited for the yummy food and seeing their friends again. There was no way they would agree to eat at the table with the adults when their companions were so close by.

... and of course there were some new toys to play with... children will always be children, even ones that were previously so serious.

Xu Feng couldn’t help but smile, seeing how healthy and lively both Xiao Momo and Xiao A looked. It was another success! Children were now acting—more or less—their age with fewer cares and worries bogging them down.

No matter what had happened with the adults, the children were sheltered well.

...

Before breakfast could begin in earnest, Min accompanied by Lee Hua joined and rejoined their group. Xu Feng wasn’t sure if the ger would avoid his courtyard until breakfast was over, but he was glad that wasn’t the case.

Lee Hua looked a bit bashful, but he couldn’t just leave his children to run wild. He now understood how much his children had changed recently and didn’t seem like he was going to let this change blindside the master of their estate.

There was much to talk about, but Xu Feng wasn’t going to skip breakfast over it.

He was hungry, and Min didn’t seem to have had breakfast either. They would all eat together, and he could listen to the man brief him on what else was going on in his absence.

With himself, Xu Si, Xu San, Lee Hua, and Min sitting at the table, it didn’t seem so empty anymore. The children giggling and sharing food in the background added to the warmth of the space.

His family wasn’t completely reunited, but at least they were all on the same continent once again.... Or maybe it was for the first time in this lifetime?

Xu Feng’s face lit up like there was a small flame burning at his core. He had been emotionally scattered recently. More often than not, he tried to stay optimistic, but it was hard.

He wanted to chock it all up to his over thinking nature, but it was obvious it had something to do with the children and his lovers... and maybe his family too. While he was away, Xu Feng had felt so restless.

Now he was back and reunited with a few of his closest people, the anxiety that had been wreaking havoc on his emotions and hormones had cooled.

It felt as though he could calmly deal with everything and anything... well as calmly as he might have 2 years ago—which probably wasn’t too calm, but was at least tactful.

He was one for moving in the shadows—a petty one, if you will.

In modern days, he was part of the potato queen’s army. (If you know, you know lol).

Even with all of his patience slowly returning, Min’s abridged version of what happened in and around Nanshan Estate made everything in Xu Feng’s body run cold.

Luckily, after listening for so long, the children all seemed tired. A nap was in order!
