He should be protecting them, not the other way around.

Between the bright yet soothing presence of Bai Mo and the strong, silent aura of Xu Hu Zhe, Xu Zeng found himself torn. He seriously pondered who he would rather have at his side in the face of danger, considering their strengths and reliability in the other world.

"Travel safe." Bai Mo called out slightly louder to ensure the man heard, but if there were any onlookers they wouldn’t overhear.

The two focused adults sat stiffly for a quarter of an incense stick before Bai Mo and Xu Hu Zhe gave each other an assessing look and approving nods.

It didn’t seem like anyone had followed them from the Bai Mansion. When they stopped watching Bai Mo’s home, they would be too far on their journey to be tracked.

The carriage switch was a success.

"Hah," Bai Mo let out a small breath he didn’t know he was holding. The politics of large families wasn’t uncommon to him, but because of his ’taboo’ title, even with his ’newfound’ immortal bloodline awakening, he wasn’t important enough for the Bai or Deng families of Yilin to track him.
