Chapter 292: Haunting a Ghost

Chapter 292: Haunting a Ghost

’A snake cultivator should most definitely be able to do that much!’ Xu Feng thought with assurance.

He was not asking for too much from a strange ghost he had only known for "three weeks" in a parallel world where time moved differently, and the specter looked strangely like his nominal husband, and only spoke to him in his mind...

...and initially looked like he was guilty of high treason, and wanted nothing more than for him to leave his magic cave and his space in general...

...and also, the specter seemed to make his body react in the same way his husbands made him react after a few weeks of no "hanky panky." All that was completely normal, and the snake meat was going to be delicious...

Xu Feng’s obliviousness had reached a new level, and even he was aware he felt strangely too comfortable around the Xuan Ancestor.

But...

It wasn’t like this snake cultivator was a baby like Xuan Yang or Xuan Jian. This was likely and old, old, oldie with centuries of experience. Much more experience than his book loving Xuan Yang or the martial arts loving Xuan Jian.

And food...

Xu Feng’s grin perked up once again before he added, "You promised to make sure Xu Hu Zhe and I won’t die from poisoning! If I die in your realm because of your people, I’m going to haunt you for all of time."

By "your people," he was clearly referring to the likely poisonous snake chucks he had presented to Dong Yang as an offering but more of a joke. The "joke" was making him salivate, and he was going to get said joke in his belly even if it killed him.

Raw meat had never made Xu Feng feel so hungry before. Meat was yummy, but he had never reacted like this even to the highest quality meat in his modern world of Dongmen. Even if his body was dying to gobble up the bloody meat, he still had standards!

The meat would be cooked first!

The air the space was charged and crackling, but a certain ger was left unsuspecting as he dreamed of a snake feast. This was the Xuan Ancestor, some strange stranger. He wasn’t concerned about offending the strange and powerful specter by eating a snake in front of a snake cultivator, but he was hesitating about eating snake in front of Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian.

It was either he was completely unbothered by the "stranger" he was so comfortable around, or he felt too comfortable with being pampered by this ghostly stranger.

...

It was all up to the beholder, and whatever their eyes picked up.

...

In the middle of the lush and vibrant surroundings of the ethereal realm, Xu Feng’s mood was nothing short of ecstatic, his spirits soaring high as if he had entered a paradise of his own creation. The world around him was a tapestry of colors, from the vivid shades of indigo and crimson flowers to the verdant greenery that stretched as far as the eye could see.

The entire space seemed to welcome him like the entrance to the pocket dimension. The foliage reflecting his glee and dancing in the nonexistent wind. It was an eerie sight for the more observant interloper—Xu Hu Zhe.

Xu Feng was completely oblivious to the emotions that swirled around him, his attention fixated solely on one thing—the prospect of a delectable feast. His smile was radiant, like the sun breaking through the morning mist, casting a warm, golden glow across his face.

"Ah, a yummy snake feast!" he exclaimed with undisguised delight, his voice filled with anticipation and eagerness. The promise he had made previously was, in truth, solely for his own benefit, and he couldn’t contain his excitement.

The aroma of food wafted through the air, tantalizing and mouthwatering. For Xu Feng, it was as if the very scent of the cooking camouflaged all else, blurring the edges of the mysterious realm. His entire being resonated with happiness, and his infectious enthusiasm seemed to embrace everyone around him.

He was glad he came prepared. With pots, seasonings, and other small conveniences burdened on Xu Hu Zhe. He had clearly planned to come to the pocket dimension, and he didn’t plan on solely eat fruits this time.

The fruits were good, but...

The person left out of the loop was Xu Hu Zhe. How do explain about a secret dimension, and cultivation to a person who just realized they had immortal blood running through their veins?

...He skipped the step entirely.

Xu Feng flitted from one task to another with the energy of a young lover, his graceful movements brimming with enthusiasm. Every action he took was infused with a single minded focus on the upcoming meal, and he was in his own world of culinary delight.

Beside him "stood" the spectral figure, Dong Yang, a ghostly presence eerily resembling Xuan Yang. His demeanor had undergone a transformation since their last meeting. His once cold and threatening gaze had softened into a warm and adoring expression, one that was entirely devoted to the beautiful silver haired ger.

As the idyllic scene played out, Xu Feng and Dong Yang interacted seamlessly, like old friends who had been reunited after a long separation. Xu Feng, the embodiment of shamelessness and brimming with boundless energy, seemed to have little concern for the ancient cultivator’s presence.

Food was his sole focus, and his happiness radiated for all to see.

However, for Xu Hu Zhe, this surreal experience was nothing short of terrifying. He had been thrust into a strange, grey world where he had been subjected to the cold and disdainful glare of a threatening ghost.

But now, everything had transformed. The world had burst into a kaleidoscope of colors and beauty, with Dong Yang’s smile directed solely at the silver haired ger.

The young giant was relegated to the background, overshadowed by the ethereal specter’s affection for Xu Feng. He couldn’t help but feel like a mere spectator in this strange and bewildering spectacle.

Dong Yang’s gaze, once filled with animosity, still sent shivers down his spine with secret, sinister intent.
