Chapter 273: So Far, So Good?
Chapter 273: So Far, So Good?
*This Chapter will be flashbacks, R18 in the next one!*
The new room in which Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang found themselves was a departure from the richness of Xu Feng’s chambers. This was one of the auxiliary rooms that they rarely frequented, typically reserved for occasional nights of rest.
It was technically one of the rooms Xu Feng had delegated to them, to keep them out of his room, when they weren’t fulfilling the terms of the contract. But honestly, the rooms were rarely used.
The auxiliary rooms of Blooming courtyard were used more than Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang’s original rooms in Budding courtyard, but still, that wasn’t saying much.
Its décor exuded a distinctly ancient Donghua charm, a reflection of the era, though it still retained a sense of modern charm and sophistication.
The walls were adorned with intricately carved wooden panels, their deep mahogany finish reflecting the warm, ambient light that gently bathed the room. These panels depicted scenes from classical Donghua tales, each carving telling a story of ancient heroes, mythical beasts, and revered cultivators. The craftsmanship was exquisite, but absolutely ignored.
As they stood together in that quiet moment, a mysterious shift in the air hung between Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang, charged with an undeniable sense of urgency and intentionality.
Slow but fast. Urgent but still savoring.
Their lips met, and time seemed to slow as they kissed slowly and deliberately.
Something deep had changed in their relationship, and the catalyst for this transformation lay sleeping peacefully in the other room: Xu Feng, the mysterious silver haired ger.
Everything seemed to involve him now, and his presence had ignited a series of shifts that had left both Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang in a state of emotional flux.
The previous day had been marked by an unshakable feeling that something was amiss, even with Xu Feng’s physical presence.
It seemed like the world was wrong, and the anxious feeling wasn’t Xuan Jian’s alone. He felt the sharper stares coming from Xuan Yang toward Xu Feng.
Although neither of them expressly said too much, they orbited around their other lover distantly the day before. Giving him the space he seemed to need, but ready to take action if necessary.
Xu Feng had been more distant and reserved than they had ever seen him, a complete contrast to his usual demeanor. It was a difference that weighed heavily on their hearts, leaving Xuan Jian with a sense of longing and uncertainty.
But he was there in Nanshan estate the entire day. He had seen him with his own two eyes...
Xuan Jian tried to push the uncertainty from his mind. There were many unanswered questions he wouldn’t even know where to begin to tackle. At the very least everything felt right again. Right?
Xu Feng’s change was different from anything Xuan Jian or Xuan Yang had previously experienced in their relationship, and it left them with a sense of vulnerability they couldn’t quite define.
Their connection had deepened, and yet, it felt like something had been misplaced, like an incomplete puzzle yearning for resolution.
Even their initial meeting had been unconventional, as Xuan Jian recalled the fateful day when they arrived at the Nanshan estate and meet the strange, yet cute ger for the first time.
It wasn’t a meeting where Xuan Yang welcomed their soon to be lover with open arms, but it was eventful at the very least.
A small smile played at Xuan Jian’s face as snippets from their first meeting nearly six months earlier played out in his head. How must the scene have felt for Xuan Yang? Was it as life changing for him?
How had it felt for Xu Feng? Was he truly as relaxed as he seemed?
Xu Feng often seemed distant but welcoming to strange situations, but now Xuan Jian knew that the ger had a lot going on in his inner world that he never fully expressed.
A lot like Xuan Yang.

The First Meeting:
The servants quickly scrambled to present themselves in their best form and straighten their attire, while Si and San, the two curious girls, attempted to appear more presentable.
Two magnificent black horses, their coats glistening with a well maintained sheen and their powerful legs carrying them with undeniable grace, had charged into the scene.
The first rider, a man with long brown hair and piercing cold gray eyes, had gracefully dismounted. Standing at least 6’2" tall, his muscular form spoke of rigorous training and disciplined strength.
He moved toward the second rider, who had alighted from his horse slightly earlier.
This man was marginally taller, with thick, lustrous black hair and an unmistakable aura of nobility. His face exuded warmth and friendliness, a stark contrast to the coldness of his companion.
While his face seemed the kind that was warm and friendly, his disposition didn’t seem to match in the least. His coldness and detachment, matched his companions. His eyes spoke nothing of warmth.
Yet, despite the grand arrival and the mingling of servants and masters, Xu Feng’s eyes remained transfixed on the magnetic iceberg, Xuan Jian. There was an undeniable heat beneath that icy exterior, a magnetic attraction that surpassed the confines of their complicated reality.

Xuan Jian couldn’t help but smile as he withdrew from the young master in front of him, a soft and affectionate expression gracing his features. Memories of that initial interaction between his two lovers flooded back, memories of a time when their connection had been far from obvious.

The silence in the room had been palpable, with only the three men present—the one ger and the two newcomers who had arrived on the backs of black stallions. It was clear from the outset that the two men were huddled together as though Xu Feng were some sort of undesirable presence to be avoided.
But on the other side of the table in the reception room, Xu Feng had been unable to tear his gaze away from the hottie with the misleading ice prince exterior.
It was as if he were a walking, breathing tree, a challenge that Xu Feng was eager to climb.
He had taken in the colder man’s features with a deliberate slowness, his eyes tracing the contours of his face, the tension in his body barely concealed by his loose robes. While the iceberg was impeccably dressed, his attire had a practicality that contrasted with the young master’s more extravagant outfit.
*Ahem.* The taller man had cleared his throat, his patience wearing thin as he urged Xu Feng to redirect his attention.
It had taken that warning cough for Xu Feng to finally redden with a hint of shame over his shameless gawking. The taller man’s words had cut through his reverie.
All a hint of shame though. Just a hint.
"My mother didn’t bring you here so you could ogle Jian," the taller man had said with disdain, his gaze locked onto Xu Feng, his hands clenched in an attempt to contain his emotions.
Emotions...
"Jian?" Xu Feng had repeated the name thoughtfully, momentarily drawn back to the iceberg’s handsome face and athletic physique. "Nice name."
The iceberg, who had been persistently ignoring Xu Feng until that point, couldn’t help but let out a small smile at the compliment. He was too thin, but he was undeniably a very handsome ger.
"Nice smile," Xu Feng had added, flashing a dimpled grin at Jian to show his appreciation for the newfound warmth in his expression.
*Ahem.* The taller man had huffed again, clearly annoyed with Xu Feng and his unabashed desires.
All the lust...
"The young master is handsome as well," Xu Feng had continued, his eyes briefly darting to the young lord beside Jian. It was an observation that held no falsehood, for both men were ridiculously handsome, sitting side by side in all their breathtaking glory.
It was as if they embodied some universal rule—transmigrated, reborn, or not—that stipulated one would always find themselves surrounded by nothing but stunning individuals, men and women who epitomized beauty in its most captivating form.

As he recalled that initial ’encounter,’ Xuan Jian couldn’t help but find humor in the situation. What had once been an awkward and uncertain beginning had evolved into something far more deep, a strong connection between the three of them that defied the odds.
He hadn’t understood what was going on in Xu Feng’s head at that moment, but looking back on it now, the situation seemed even funnier.
Both Xuan Yang and Xu Feng were his lovers, and he loved both of their flaws and shortcomings, just as much as their redeeming points.
The two hadn’t started out strong, but he wouldn’t change their relationship if he could.
"Focus," Xuan Yang remined Xuan Jian. It was obvious they both felt unsettled, but they needed this release, a release from all their thoughts, all the chains that bound them.
If they were going to stay chained in the past, present, or even the future, they might as well do it at Xu Feng’s bedside.
"Mmmh," Xuan Jian replied with a hint of apology, his hands gently cradling Xuan Yang’s face as he gazed into those captivating dark eyes. "Handsome," he murmured softly, unable to resist the magnetic pull of his lover’s charm.
He could be shameless too...maybe...
