The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 242: The Warmth of An Iceberg

Chapter 242: The Warmth of An Iceberg

Xu Feng remained caught in the intensity of Xuan Yang’s gaze, his eyes wholly focused on his husband, effectively disregarding the "cute" and "frightened" ger who had caused the earlier commotion.

The drama that had unfolded seemed to have subsided, or at least his attention had shifted away from it.

Xuan Yang’s cold exterior was not merely a front, unlike Xuan Jian’s. However, the affection he held for both Xuan Jian and now Xu Feng was undoubtedly genuine. The Xuan family’s young master possessed remarkable intelligence, which continually left Xu Feng in awe.

Xuan Yang was vigilant and seemed to grasp a deeper understanding of Xu Feng through this incident. Perhaps, they wouldn’t need to address the Central Bookstore incident after all?

Hope welled up within Xu Feng as he clung to the possibility. However, his thoughts were interrupted as another set of warm arms enveloped him from behind, pulling him into a comforting back hug.

(RIP Xuan Yang’s arm)

The soothing warmth of Xuan Jian’s embrace had an almost magical effect on Xu Feng, lulling him into a sense of peace and security. Surely, Xuan Jian couldn’t be upset either, right? Xu Feng contemplated the idea of apologizing as a way to preempt any further conflict.

Looking up, Xu Feng met Xuan Jian’s gaze. In that moment, Xuan Jian leaned down and tenderly kissed Xu Feng’s forehead at a perfect angle.

The remnants of anger were visible in the tense lines of Xuan Jian’s jaw, and it was clear that the icy fortress around his heart had been breached, revealing a volcano of emotions simmering beneath the surface.

"I’m sorry I didn’t say anything about the Central Bookstore," Xu Feng admitted with a sheepish tone, his graceful demeanor remaining intact even in moments of apology.

"Hmm," Xuan Jian responded with a nod, understanding why Xu Feng often kept his thoughts and experiences hidden. His beloved Feng Feng had always strived for independence and self reliance, willing to protect others but rarely seeking protection for himself unless absolutely necessary.

Xuan Jian sighed, releasing the tension in his shoulders. This situation was far from over for him; he planned to confront this Kang Han later. However, as he glanced into Xu Feng’s eyes, he couldn’t bear to see his beloved retreat into his shell once more. They had recently shared a moment of honesty in the carriage, and he didn’t want to shatter that fragile trust.

Ignoring any onlookers and Sun Ming Hua, Xuan Jian began to gently rub his chin against their shared lover’s cheek, soothing the skittish fox within Xu Feng.

"We’ll need to send word to main house in Jinghua," he suggested, opening his intense brown eyes to meet Xuan Yang’s gaze. It was clear that changes were necessary. Overdue even.

Xuan Yang readily agreed, "A courier letter will be quicker."

Both husbands were in sync regarding their next course of action, leaving Xu Feng a bit perplexed but unwilling to interrupt. After all, he had done enough today, and the specifics of what Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang needed to report to the Xuan family were not his concern at the moment.

While his two husbands had momentarily forgotten or intentionally disregarded the presence of the smaller ger, Xu Feng couldn’t help but tilt his head and peer into Sun Ming Hua’s wide eyed gaze.

A faint but mischievous smile played on his lips.

"Let’s not repeat this."

That was all. A simple warning.

Whether Sun Ming Hua took this to heart or not, Xu Feng didn’t care. He wouldn’t be kind next time. Whether he understood or not, Xu Feng was done with this play.

Xu Feng’s words were not empty threats; he meant every word.

This public humiliation was just a small taste of what awaited Sun Ming Hua if he continued to be stubborn and also if the ger acted on the desire Xu Feng saw in his eyes.

Yes, he had two husbands, but that didn’t mean they needed another ger in the mix. Maybe Xu Feng would be open to that, but not to Sun Ming Hua—that was a drama and backyard politic he wasn’t ready for. Ever.

In this ancient time, the damage to Sun Ming Hua reputation would be severe, possibly, and it would take a monumental effort to salvage it. If the stubborn ger still failed to grasp the gravity of the situation, things would only get worse.

Fatigue washed over Xu Feng like a heavy wave, and he couldn’t help but feel utterly drained. He had never enjoyed public spectacles, and this entire debacle had pushed his body beyond its limits.

Languidness settled into his limbs, making them feel as heavy as lead. He swayed slightly, and white spots danced at the edges of his vision.

Without uttering a word, Xu Feng allowed himself to appear even more pampered than ever before. He curled up against Xuan Jian, seeking the comfort and warmth of his husband’s embrace. His normally poised and dignified behavior was momentarily replaced by an uncharacteristic public vulnerability.

Xuan Yang, sensing Xu Feng’s need for rest, released his hold and moved toward the waiting carriage. "Let’s make a stop at the Yilin Courier Station before we return," he suggested, taking charge of family matters with a practiced confidence that brought a sense of pride to Xu Feng.

He really had married a young master, and a capable one. He understood Sun Ming Hua’s desire in that moment, but he wouldn’t share with such a trouble maker.

Honestly, he didn’t want to share with anyone other than Xuan Jian.

Meanwhile, Xuan Jian assumed a different role as he effortlessly scooped up Xu Feng into his arms. A blush crept up Xu Feng’s cheeks as he found himself being carried like a precious treasure.

Though he could still move, his body ached, and he welcomed the unexpected gesture of care and affection from his husband. It was a tender moment amidst the chaos, and Xu Feng couldn’t help but feel grateful for the support of his two husbands.
