The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 238: Two Can Play

Chapter 238: Two Can Play

Xu Feng had donned his pampered young miss persona many times before, but this time, it was different. It wasn’t like the previous incidents in the cloth shop or with the Xuan family, where he had been either having a fit or in full defense mode.

Something inside him had broken, or perhaps something had been unleashed. The past few days had been too much of a whirlwind. He should have been joyously entering a new stage in his relationship, preparing to break his marriage contract, and securing his family’s future.

Yet here he was, dealing with a fifteen year old ger who seemed determined to steal his man, or rather, two young gers attempting to encroach upon the territory of his blossoming relationships with both his husbands.

And publicly shame him. This piece couldn’t be ignored. Grudges could be nursed in silence, but Sun Ming Hua liked to do things publicly.

Was this a little voyeur?

The air around Xu Feng seemed to shift, an imperceptible change that, before anyone could fully grasp, was already affecting those closest to him. Xuan Jian, with his seemingly icy and aloof front, suddenly found his features softening, his eyes locking onto Xu Feng’s transformed expression with a mixture of confusion and indulgence.

Xu Hu Zhe, who had been in the midst of moving to detach the loudmouthed ger from Xuan Yang, froze in his steps. His eyes were no longer focused on the task at hand; they were fixated on Xu Feng. A strange and magnetic compulsion washed over him, and words couldn’t capture the complex emotions swirling within him.

There were no words. He’d never heard them before.

Xu Feng’s changed expression exuded an aura that was undeniable. It was as though the entire street had come under his sway, and the onlookers couldn’t help but be drawn into the unfolding scene.

In a voice that was quiet but carried a weight that resonated up and down the street, Xu Feng called out, "Sun Ming Hua." The murmurs of the crowd settled down in near instant silence as they became compelled to hear what the tall ger had to say.

Sun Ming Hua, sensing the intense change in the atmosphere, felt a shiver run down his spine, and he involuntarily curled his neck in response. In his momentary surprise, Xuan Yang’s delicate sidestep finally succeeded in distancing the unwelcome presence attempting to cling to his hem once more.

Xu Feng’s demeanor remained poised and mysterious as he addressed Sun Ming Hua, who had made numerous accusations throughout the unfolding drama. His cold smile, like an enchanting winter’s night, still graced his lips as he regarded the shorter ger without reservations.

"It’s almost hard to decide where to begin," Xu Feng mused, his fingers lightly tracing his chin, drawing even more attention to his ethereal appeal and otherworldly indifference. "I suppose starting from the beginning is the best way to go."

With a calculated air of drama, Xu Feng lifted one finger, signaling that he was ready to speak his piece. Sun Ming Hua attempted to interject, but the elegant ger silenced him with a glance. It was Xu Feng’s turn to speak, and he intended to take his time.

And Xu Feng did as he said, he wanted to keep Bai Mo clean, and minimize the situation as much as possible, but where had that gotten him? He could be dramatic too, at most he would have to apologize to anyone if he happened to offend them with his honesty.

"We’ve met a total of three times," Xu Feng began, his voice steady and unhurried, "and each time, there is always some sort of disagreement between you and me. That ends today." His words carried an air of finality.

He probed into the first meeting, their encounter at the Central Bookstore during the start of winter. "I recall one of the men in your group, a..." Xu Feng said, momentarily at a loss for words. He turned his gaze to Xu Hu Zhe, as if seeking assistance in recalling the man’s name.

Without hesitation, Xu Hu Zhe stepped forward, taking charge of the situation with confidence. "Kang Han," he answered definitively. "Kang Han was the rude man who tried to make advances on you when we visited the Central Bookstore."

Xu Feng’s expression feigned surprise, but beneath the act, he was genuinely impressed. Xu Hu Zhe was proving to be a quick learner, capable of navigating the complexities of this situation. Even in the middle of this confrontation, he knew how to deliver a well placed verbal strike.

Xu Feng wouldn’t let his efforts go to waste.

Xu Feng’s lips seemed to savor the words "Kang Han," rolling them around as he moved his head from side to side.

While he might not possess the same level of dramatic flair as the smaller ger, he knew how to captivate an audience. The crowd remained entranced by his performance, hanging on to his every word.

After a moment, Xu Feng continued, ignoring Sun Ming Hua’s attempts to interrupt. This was his stage, and he intended to make the most of it.

Fair is fair. And even if he was being unfair, that was up to him. He had the right after all the abuse that had been hurled his way.

"If I remember correctly, Kang Han is my good friend Bai Mo’s former fiancé," Xu Feng declared. His words sent ripples of murmurs through the crowd, as Bai Mo’s name was like a local legend in Yilin Town. He was known as a bearer of bad luck, but still held a certain fascination, from the tale of his father’s death to his ill fated engagement.

Bai Mo was a camel among tiny horses.

In the brief pause that followed, the bolder ger who had accompanied Sun Ming Hua couldn’t contain his disdain. His face twisted in disgust as he muttered, "Of course you’re friends with that death bringer."

The reaction was immediate, not only on Xu Feng’s face but also on the faces of the Nanshan Estate residents. While they didn’t always see eye to eye with Bai Mo, he was unquestionably one of their own, and the insult had clearly struck a nerve.
