The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 184: Wild Animals?

Chapter 184: Wild Animals?

The scenery was still beautiful, the host of the scenic estate was still radiant, the day was not too cool or too hot, and the temperature was just right. Everything was right with the world. The birds were singing in the air, and the sun was shining just bright enough.

Yet...Something was wrong. Very wrong.

Bai Mo tried again and again to focus on the words coming from the taller ger’s mouth. Xu Feng was about half a head taller than him.

(Bai Mo is about 5’7" and would be considered tall for a ger after his last growth spurt. More acceptable than Xu Feng who is like a giant, Godz*lla type of creature to those in Donghua.)

He would purposefully look up and try to pay attention to the movement of his friend’s lips. Open and close. The full red lips moved slowly as usual; their excitement barely contained.

Xu Feng was clearly excitedly telling him something, but all Bai Mo could focus on was the glaring wrongness of the whole situation.

Even if everything was like a Disn*y move, bright and cheery, he felt like eyes could be watching him from any corner. Why was this?

Because the eyes that should have been watching him were nowhere in sight.

It was like knowing you were in a wild animal’s territory, but not being able to target the wild animal at all. Normally the wild animal would keep a safe distance and trail him, but today, the wild animal was playing hide and seek.

Bai Mo covertly swept their path from side to side. As he and Xu Feng moved around the grounds of the estate, he would peep in every corner looking for said wild animal...well, it was several wild animals, but some were worse than others.

The first wild animal was the first man Bai Mo had seen around Xu Feng, his servant, Erlang. This wild animal was fairly mild mannered, for the most part.

He was very cautious of his master, and could usually be found hovering around Xu Feng when he had guests, or when they visited the Bai Mansion. Only occasionally when in the Nanshan estate would he leave the other wild animals to watch over Xu Feng.

Honestly, Bai Mo couldn’t blame Erlang. Xu Feng was very good at getting himself in trouble without doing anything...at all. He could curl up in a corner and maybe still trip some great county magistrate or something similar.

Even their first meeting was Xu Feng being targeted unfairly in the Central Bookstore. It was unfair to the taller ger, but it was the beginning of their friendship.

The second wild animal was Xu Feng’s "second husband," Xuan Jian. The man seemed calm and collected on the outside, but the level of protectiveness he felt from this "husband" was something fierce. He didn’t seem to be the jealous type on the surface, but Xuan Jian was very protective.

As soon as Bai Mo would get into a certain range of Xu Feng, the other man’s laser sharp eyes would focus on him. They would stare holes into his back, side, forehead, anywhere indiscriminately until Bai Mo created distance between himself and the "lovely, innocent wife" also known as Xu Feng.

The third and final wild animal was the nominal and "first husband," Xuan Yang, the legitimate heir of the Xuan family. A powerful noble bloodline carrier, the golden child of the snake bloodline.

Bai Mo felt that even with all those titles, and praise under his feet, Xuan Yang was barely worthy of the ger beside him. This was another reason why the third wild animal seemed to have such a big reaction in Bai Mo’s presence.

At first, Xuan Yang seemed exactly like the rumors said, quiet and scholarly merit. He was well mannered and cultured, the perfect scion of the Xuan clan with a bit of haughty disdain for the world, rightfully so.

It wasn’t until his second or third visit that Bai Mo realized this man was a wild animal. It didn’t even take him coming too close to Xu Feng to set the Xuan young master off. If he talked too long, smiled too big, or even ate too much of Xu Feng’s cooking, Bai Mo would feel Xuan Yang’s gaze on his body.

Xuan Yang never verbalized his feelings or showed little looks of frustration like Xuan Jian. The snake young master was just that, a shrewd snake. He would simply stare, coldly.

To Xu Feng or anyone else, it was simply a stare from a lofty young master, but Bai Mo felt the pins and needles, no the swords and machetes being sent his way with the young master’s gaze.

And after three months of this treatment from three wild animals, and two small animals—Si and San weren’t vicious or very threatening at all, but they did follow Bai Mo around with their eyes, the five worked together to keep track of Xu Feng at all times—Bai Mo was used to the feeling when he visited.

He didn’t blame anyone.

Xu Feng was too trusting when he liked someone, and at the same time, too attractive and aloof, some people liked to have what was hard to conquer. Xu Feng was just very good at attracting trouble.

"Momo!" The raised voice brought Bai Mo’s eye line back to the other ger. "What are you looking for? You keep looking around..."

Xu Feng trailed off, but the confused look on his face was still present as Bai Mo flushed, a bit embarrassed.

"Did something happen? You said you would visit days ago."

"Ah," Bai Mo couldn’t help but look around him one more time. There were servants occasionally bustling around them. They started in the front of the property, and were now in the back with a perfect view of the mountainside.

"No. Yes." He looked down then up again, embarrassed. "Someone isn’t here that should be here..."

Xu Feng raised his brow in question. ’Someone that should be here...’

As if he was a shark that smelled blood, Xu Feng’s face bloomed, and Bai Mo knew he needed to put a stop to ’that’ look immediately.

"Yes Feng’er, I’m madly in love with all the wild animals you keep in your estate!"
