Chapter 169: Doctor Ping: No Child, Yet
He paused, considering the weight of his words. The revelation of celestial alignment and destiny entwined with bloodlines was both fascinating and overwhelming. It was a burden of fate that neither Xu Feng nor the Xuan family might have ever considered.
Doctor Ping’s role surpassed more than just medical expertise; it was about guiding Xu Feng through the complexities of destiny and bloodlines, which held a far reaching impact on a young ger’s life.
"Your bodies might have reacted to each other in a way that was beyond the ordinary. It’s the unpredictability of fate and two powerful bloodlines."
Xu Feng furrowed his brows but nodded as he listened. The information was reassuring to hear from someone else.
The books found in the bookstores were shallow when it came to the immortal bloodlines and Xuan Yang was keeping information from him too. Most likely information only Xuan family members were privy to.
Doctor Ping observed Xu Feng’s attentive attitude, recognizing the young ger’s attempt to process and make sense of the unusual circumstances surrounding him.
The knowledge imparted by books and Bai Mo’s insights aligned with the doctor’s explanation, offering a fragment of clarity in the fog of uncertainty.
For Xu Feng, the information was a lifeline among the shallowness of available literature. The shallow coverage in bookstores concerning immortal bloodlines left much to be desired. The books lent by Bai Mo, hinted at a compatibility similar to mated pairs but on a broader scale, spanning different species or demon beasts.
His mind traced the lines of cultivation worlds he’d encountered in stories and novels. They predominantly focused on human cultivators or demon beasts integrating with human cultivators.
The idea of demon beasts cultivating human forms was often relegated to the sidelines and side plots, rarely given due consideration in popular stories.
Despite all of Xu Feng’s initial thoughts, this wasn’t an ABO world, it really was just a cultivation world. He had the unique experience to live through the demon beast experience.
But he wasn’t a beast cultivating immortality, not yet. Instead, he descended from strong demon beasts who cultivated human forms and embraced human forms, intermingling with humans while cherishing the purity of their demon bloodline.
"After the initial time, your body should have begun to regulate to a more reasonable amount of desire," at this the old man coughed as Xu Feng furrowed his brows tighter.
"My libido hasn’t decreased. Its still strong. I have more control of my thoughts and my body, but it takes a lot of self control not to beg for it or..." the room went completely silent as Xu Feng trailed off into the void.
...
"Ahem," Doctor Ping coughed again, this time even his ears began to flush slightly. "And recently, has this urge grown?"
"Yes." Xu Feng admitted in a small voice. He still wanted to climb both men regularly, but his desire wasn’t driving him all the time.
"Wen would have more answers than I could possibly have," Doctor Ping shook his head before continuing on, "Your urges should have stabilized. They should be higher than average because of your bloodline purity, but they should not be so uncontrollable."
"Wen?" Xuan Yang was again the one who interrupted.
"Ah," Doctor Ping smiled a toothy smile, "Doctor Wen is a colleague from my days in the imperial court, before I retired and moved to the countryside. He was fascinated by the way immortal bloodline carriers react and how they differ from us without immortal bloodline. All I know about Master Feng’s reactions comes from my conversations with Doctor Wen and his observations over the decades."
The smile on Doctor Pings face was truly genuine. It made Xu Feng almost feel like he wanted to know Doctor Wen, and believe they would get along well.
"Is Feng Feng with child?" "Is Doctor Wen still in the capital?"
The two questions rang out at the same time, both Xuan Jian and Xu Feng pausing to look each other over. With that question and appraisal, Xu Feng’s eyes dropped. That was for the reason for the doctor’s visit, but it still left his chest stuffy and a bit ashamed.
Doctor Ping, if he could feel the undercurrent in the room, played it completely cool.
First, he addressed Xu Feng, "Doctor Wen, despite all his achievements, is much younger than me in age and vitality. He is still studying and treating patients in the imperial physician’s office and in his own small private clinic."
He again began fiddling with his mustache before continuing. "Doctor Wen would be excited to chat further with you. I’ll leave you his clinic address in Jinghua in case Master Feng is ever in the area, or would like to send a letter to Doctor Wen. I’ll also send you an introduction."
With this, the gloom on Xu Feng’s face lightened a bit as he nodded at Doctor Ping.
After the contract ended, he might need to look into ways to curb his sexual desires, self control could only go so far. And it wasn’t very far when it came to him.
It had fallen off his radar temporarily, but it couldn’t be forgotten.
"Master Feng is not with child at this time," Doctor Ping continued this time address both Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang.
If he’d caught that the pet name for Xu Feng came from a man that was clearly not the young master of the Xuan family, it was unknown. The man was clearly adept at navigating court politics. His years in Jinghua were not in vain.
"He is very healthy, and fertile. More fertile than I have ever seen in a ger or a woman. The red of his mole does not do his body justice. With the poison gone from his body, good news is on the horizon." Doctor Ping continued. "The child will most likely be blessed like its parents, the only unknown is which parent’s bloodline it will take after, fox or snake."
With this news, Xu Feng had gotten the answers to all the questions he was willing to ask in front of his husbands. He decided to interrupt the doctor before taking his leave.
The initial sad to excited expressions of the two men weren’t helping with his resolve to act like a mature adult.
It was best he left the situation.
"With my health recovered, we plan to try harder for a child," at this Doctor Ping nodded. It would be strange for a ger with such strong bloodline not to have children early and try for as many cubs as possible.
The more children, the more treasured he would be by his in laws. "We would appreciate if the esteemed doctor would keep this secret, and take care of my health until the child is conceived."
"Of course," Doctor Ping answered immediately his relaxed face tightening, "this one is discreet."
"Master Yang and Master Jian will set up weekly dates for checkups." With that, Xu Feng didn’t look to the two mentioned men. Instead, he bowed his head slightly to the doctor, who also rose to bid him farewell as he exited the room.
