The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 106: I Dream of Seed
Chapter 106: I Dream of Seed
"Hmm," Xuan Yang’s chest rumbled softly, the low sound reverberating in Xu Feng’s ears and sending a slow shiver down his spine.
In that moment, he felt like he could stay like this forever. He would stay like this forever; the snake had no say in the matter.
Xu Feng didn’t know how long they lingered in that warm embrace, connected in a more innocent way. He had no consciousness of how many viewers might have seen them, nor did he particularly care.
If they sought entertainment, they should look elsewhere, for this was not a spectacle. At least it wasn’t a very scandalous one...or it might be in an ancient society...
It was only when Xuan Jian spoke that the ger, who had played the role of a languid paper towel, detached himself from the snake young master.
"We’re ready. The materials will be sent to the house," Xuan Jian stated, his voice laced with an intentional coldness that Xu Feng immediately detected. However, Xuan Jian’s underlying emotions seemed anything but upset; he appeared rather forgiving like a laughing Buddha with a metal exterior.
Xu Feng nodded as he moved further away from Xuan Yang. He met Xuan Jian’s eyes, his own gaze half-lidded. After confirming that Xuan Jian was neither irritated or dissatisfied, a sense of sluggishness once again washed over him.
To regain his senses, he shook his head several times, allowing strands of silver hair to cascade and frame his face, dispelling the dreamy haze. It was clearly this ger’s nap time.
"We’ll see you at the..." Xu Feng began, glancing at Xuan Yang, momentarily blanking on the name of the bookstore that had been mentioned not too long ago.
"Central bookstore," Xuan Yang replied, his tone tinged with evident frustration and judgment. However, there was a hint of laughter that he was clearly restraining.
Xu Feng could sense it, having seen through his facade. Xuan Yang had been momentarily frightened, though he would never openly admit it. Xu Feng had felt the rapid heartbeat when he had pressed against the young master’s chest.
The man was a tsundere, even a somewhat depraved one, but when it truly mattered, he displayed honest emotions.
Still, Xu Feng was not ready to admit this to himself. It was far too early for him to believe that Xuan Yang, or even Xuan Jian, harbored any real concern for him.
Maybe there was a trace of pity for a poor village ger, or maybe some worry about the unborn child and the newfound freedom it had brought and would continue to bring them in the future.
Sometimes, a bit of pessimism was a good thing. It meant he would be prepared when bad news came.
Xu Feng felt a bit pathetic for needing to give himself this pep talk already. With all the novels he had read, dramas he had watched, and gossip he had absorbed from his mother and her friends, he should have known better.
Interlopers rarely won in the end. He was merely setting himself up to be the antagonist who accidentally brought the couple closer together when they discovered he was just a lazy fox from another world.
Yet, it wasn’t his fault that Xuan Yang was both firm and comfy. "Be less comfortable," Xu Feng retorted randomly, his tone somewhat cranky.
Without caring whether Xuan Yang understood his complicated train of thought, Xu Feng waved to Xuan Jian, and glanced at the still-confused young master one last time.
A faint smile tugged at his lips as he caught up with Erlang. He didn’t know where they were going, but he hoped Erlang would lead them somewhere, anywhere.
Xuan Jian couldn’t help but chuckle as he watched Xu Feng and Erlang leave. The ger’s puzzling yet endearing personality amused him.
Xu Feng appeared to be a sly little fox, managing to double-cross everyone with a single move. Instead, he was a silly little fox cub who looked like he’d stolen cream from a cat, but the cat was actually full. Double crossing only himself in one strike.
Despite the confusion and randomness, he found Xu Feng cute.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng and Erlang had walked some distance from the crowd before coming to a halt in a more empty spot. "Where is the nearest grain store?" Xu Feng inquired, realizing that Erlang had only brought one basket.
Erlang promptly offered an explanation, "I left a basket and Master Jian’s basket with the cloth store." This way, they could move quickly and shop more efficiently.
When their current basket was full, they could retrieve the other two on their way back to the carriage. The cloth store was conveniently situated near where they had left the carriage.
This is what a normal person would most likely think, however, Xu Feng wasn’t one to do things the normal way. He enjoyed adding a touch of drama paired with a healthy dose of lazy, which tended to keep him out of trouble.
Either way, he knew both traits (drama-loving and laziness) like the back of his hand..
"Why did you leave them?" he asked, his voice maintaining an air of neutrality with just a hint of underlying interest.
Erlang answered honestly in a hushed tone, "Young... Master stayed at the seed shop the longest last time, so I..."
He didn’t need to finish the sentence, as Xu Feng understood the implication. A wide grin stretched across Xu Feng’s face, revealing his dimples and brightening his handsome features.
Even though most of the onlookers were now following the two snake young masters, a few lucky people witnessed this charming, dimpled ger with the blood red mole and attractive aura.
Erlang hoped that he was growing accustomed to his master’s charismatic ways, but he was wrong. The sight of that beaming smile sent his face flushing with heat, and he quickly averted his gaze, as though he were a bandit caught off guard.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng was set on efficiently purchasing their necessities at the grain store so that he could move on to the more enjoyable activities and, of course, indulge in his spending spree.
With a nod, they headed towards the nearest grain store. Xu Feng’s intention was clear: quick shopping, and then a visit to the seed store. He was eager to explore the latter alone, as that was where his true interests lay.
Well one of them.
