The Gentleman at the End -
Chapter 613 - 611 Declaration of War
Chapter 613: Chapter 611 Declaration of War
"William, you bastard!"
The moment Greedy Greed’s head was chopped off, even the usually composed Yellow Skin became tense.
This was one of the ’Seven Marquis,’ a symbol of the highest combat power among the Silver Circle Patients, and William had actually killed him.
Originally, Yellow Skin merely appreciated William’s courage and ability,
but as William accomplished the Abyss Path, Yellow Skin began to trust that this young man might indeed be capable of overthrowing and restructuring the Skin Factory,
yet it still required a long accumulation of time. After all, stepping into the Silver Circle was only the start of becoming an old patient, and there was a long way to go after that.
Who would have imagined that William had just set foot on this path and already killed one of the ’Seven Marquis’ who had almost completed the journey?
Although there were several side reasons for this, including a complete fusion with Moon Trace Lorrian, the fact that Greed was the weakest among the Seven Marquis and just so happened to be vulnerable to William, as well as falling prey to illusions due to carelessness, and so forth,
but the beheading of a Seven Marquis is an undeniable fact, and looking through the entire history of the Old World, there had never been such an exaggerated event.
In Yellow Skin’s eyes, the contract he signed with William seemed to be coming true.
"William, he was nearly incapacitated at the last moment, didn’t you choose to educate him? Educating one of the ’Seven Marquis’ would have been a great help for our subsequent invasion of the Skin Factory."
"Facing such an opponent, if I still thought about education and held back, how would I be any different from Greed... Being able to kill him was already quite good, and his body is also useful.
Yellow Skin, can you perform the role of ’First Gentleman’ and temporarily open the channel to the Skin Factory? It only needs to be open for one second."
"I can, after all, the channel was just closed not long ago and still retains some ’warmth.’ I can barely manage it... What are you going to do? This is very risky, the guys on the other side might take advantage of the gap to come through.
If another Seven Marquis comes through, you will truly die."
"The channel was already closed just now; whatever happened here, those Blood Citizens on the other side know nothing. As for those high-ranking Seven Marquis, they naturally won’t always guard a closed channel entrance.
Just an instant of opening won’t pose any danger.
And what I want to do is to send them an important gift."
"All right!"
Yellow Skin immediately understood William’s intentions. He phased out in the form of an individual suit, arriving at the position where the First Gentleman used to be.
Whoosh~ Strands of yellow threads shot out from the suit, connecting with the ground,
Hum!
A faint pulse visible to the naked eye shot along the threads, travelling down the ground seemingly reaching another world.
The ground began to tremble faintly, and pebbles scattered... The [Channel] that had just been closed minutes ago was once again widened, albeit opening only slightly, not even large enough for a person to crawl through.
William was already prepared; in his hands, he held Greedy Greed’s head, which through a special sort of invasive education kept the already dead brain, devoid of consciousness, stocked with pure activity, letting it serve one last purpose.
Letting go, he allowed the head to fall into it.
...
[Old World - Mysterious Skin Factory]
In the upper layer of the Skin Factory, now normalized for Blood Citizens’ habitation, deep within the manor,
In this temporarily established estate, built to Blood Citizens’ aesthetic, four marquises sat around the hall’s firepit.
Each bore a distinctly different atmosphere and appearance, but their personalities complemented each other so well that they normally stayed together, whether making crucial decisions or indulging in their desires.
One man, with ferocious eyes and a huge hooked nose, said:
"After Greed went over, the situation not only failed to improve but also resulted in the channel’s closure... Can the indigenous humans on the other side do this much?
Or is there an Old World organization secretly assisting those humans?"
Sitting not far away, a Duchess licking a girl’s spine whispered, "Unlikely? Silver Circle Patients are restricted when they go there, let alone assist those humans against us.
Not to mention Greed,"
Glatoni was quite renowned in the Old World, normally organizations wouldn’t dare to provoke him.
Stop overthinking it, anyway, the channel has already been closed, and there’s nothing we can do.
With Glatoni in charge over there, nothing too serious should go wrong. Though Greed is a bit weaker, with his assistance, those native humans won’t be able to stir up much trouble."
Just then, a visibly panicked Blood Messenger, whose job was to report to the ’Seven Marquis’, flew in as a bat and landed in front of everyone.
In his hands he held something wrapped in a skin pouch.
It was a high-quality skin pouch, and the Marquis couldn’t tell what was inside at first glance.
"What’s the matter, why the rush?"
"Just... just now, the channel to the human city briefly opened, and then something was thrown from the other side that was picked up by a passing Skin Slave.
After a brief discussion, they decided to hand this thing over to us."
"What is it?"
"It’s..."
The Blood Messenger trembled all over, not daring to say it outright, and could only slowly undo the skin bag.
Upon seeing the contents, the four people present suddenly stood up,
inside was Greed’s head.
Strangely enough, Greed was obviously dead, his consciousness completely dissipated, but his head did not turn into blood and instead remained intact.
Although the Marquis didn’t particularly like Greed, the kind who would kill his own kind, they all treated him quite well in light of the fact that he often collected some good things and contributed them to the manor’s treasure.
Even though Greed’s strength was the lowest among the Seven Marquis, currently, no one at the Earl level could be found to replace him.
All of a sudden, the head held in the Messenger’s hands began to twitch,
streams of pitch-black blood flowed from its seven orifices, and its eyeballs melted along with it, falling to the floor like sludge.
The already dead brain was forcibly activated, uttering a string of words imprinted onto it,
"Greetings to the Marquis, how are you all~ I hope I’m not disturbing you? Taking this opportunity, I’d like to tell you something.
You vermin actually dared to invade my city, even killing my friends, imprisoning my teacher... Marquis Greed is just the first,
before long, I myself will head to the Skin Factory to execute you all.
You’d better enjoy your last moments.
Oh, by the way, my name is William Y. Behrens~ on behalf of all members of the Fear Circus, I send you my regards.
Ha ha ha... Ha ha ha!"
With that, the head began to laugh maniacally, and it seemed as if something inside the skull was continuously pressuring the brain, inflating it like a balloon.
Right when it appeared about to explode, it was enveloped by a blood-colored square created by one of the Marquis.
Pop!
A large amount of dark substance burst out, held back within the square.
However, the blood-colored square that had just been created was eroded away in a short time, with even a few drops of black liquid falling onto the floor, forming a pitch-black hole straight to the basement.
This situation greatly alarmed the four Marquis, leaving them with no mood for entertainment.
"The humans managed to get involved with the Circus... Could it be the First Abyss backing them from behind?
Glatoni should be able to return, we’ll ask him what’s actually happening with the humans when he comes back... This dark substance is not the Death Plague, but a kind of death not belonging to our world.
Things have gotten complicated."
