Chapter 776: 724th Chapter: Emotions

Walking out of Old Master Chen’s study, Liu Hun felt no significant turmoil in his heart. Having once faced death, he could remain calm and composed, even in the face of significant events.

Liu Hun also understood that the person whom even Old Master Chen feared was no ordinary figure; furthermore, this matter could very well drag the entire Chen Family into it.

Within the Chen Family, whether it was Old Master Chen, Chen Rongrong, or Sun Mengmeng, they all treated him well. Liu Hun certainly didn’t want to involve them, but his foundations were not stable now, and without a solid backer, he would find it difficult to move forward.

So, even in the end, Liu Hun still did not reject the offer. If Old Master Chen had clarified the relationship between them from the start, Liu Hun would not have said anything more.

He could no longer stay in the country, but he could still go abroad; it would just take a bit more time.

“Mengmeng, did my uncle say something to you?” No sooner had he descended the stairs than Liu Hun saw Sun Mengmeng standing in the hall, her face still streaked with tears, her somewhat reddened eyes fixed on him.

“Mengmeng, it’s not what you think. I’ve always seen you as a sister, so…” Liu Hun sighed inwardly and shook his head.

“I don’t believe it!” Sun Mengmeng bit her teeth hard, unmoved.

“Mengmeng, matters of the heart can’t be one-sided, and besides, you two really aren’t suitable,” Chen Wen said with a complex look, trying to persuade Sun Mengmeng.

No matter what Chen Wen said, Sun Mengmeng did not respond to him, her eyes remaining on Liu Hun.

After a moment, Sun Mengmeng’s face turned somewhat pale, and she said with a bitter smile, “Hun, can you accompany me out for a walk tonight? I promise I’ll go abroad to study tomorrow, as Grandpa instructed, and I won’t bother you again.”

Faced with Sun Mengmeng’s persistence, Liu Hun glanced at Chen Wen. Seeing that Chen Wen said no more, he nodded.

Old Master Chen’s decision to send Mengmeng to school abroad clearly indicated that the situation had exceeded the Chen Family’s capacity.

Having driven Sun Mengmeng away from the Chen villa, Liu Hun followed her directed route and soon the two arrived at the entrance of a bar.

“I’ve never been to such a place before; today is quite an experience.” After saying this, Sun Mengmeng took Liu Hun’s hand and headed towards the bar.

In the bar, Sun Mengmeng ordered two drinks. After each had a drink, she tried to pull Liu Hun toward the dance floor, but he shook his head with a wry smile, “I don’t know how.”

Sun Mengmeng simply laughed, undeterred, and headed to the dance floor alone. She took off her cape and tied it around her waist, revealing a sexy tank top underneath, as she wildly swayed her body.

Sitting alone at the bar, Liu Hun watched Sun Mengmeng in the dance floor, poured another glass of alcohol, and finished it in one gulp, his expression turning bitter.

“Mengmeng, I’m sorry. Whether in a past life or this one, anyone related to me, Liu Hun, never ends up with anything good. I hope in the future you’ll find someone who loves you and be happy together.” Liu Hun’s eyes grew hazy, perhaps from the alcohol or something else, as he murmured softly.

Dingling, dingling.

The piercing sound of a phone ringing. Liu Hun took out his mobile to find it was Cheng Feng calling, and after a moment’s pause, he went to the restroom to answer.

“Boss, regarding the planning and construction in Shanghe Village, there are basically no issues with the early stages, and the factory construction is almost complete and ready to begin production soon. However, in a couple of days, Zhang Fan and I will have to return to the Provincial City…” Cheng Feng stopped there.

Originally, both he and Zhang Fan had decided to follow Liu Hun of their own accord, but now, it was them deciding to leave, which left Cheng Feng and Zhang Fan feeling somewhat guilty.

Without question, it must have been the individual mentioned by Old Master Chen that made both the Cheng and Zhang Families wary, prompting them to call the two back to the Provincial City.

Liu Hun didn’t blame them. People have their own aspirations, and since they had made up their minds, Liu Hun had nothing more to say.

“Then I’ll come back tomorrow to treat you to a meal before you go,” Liu Hun said without asking for the reasons.

On the other end of the call, Cheng Feng, Zhang Fan, and Xu Shimin were all visibly moved by Liu Hun’s words.

They had even prepared themselves for a scolding from Liu Hun, ending things on a sour note, but Liu Hun, upon hearing this, said nothing and asked nothing…

“Boss, you don’t need to come back. If those two want to leave, it’s their choice, at least I, old Xu, am still here. As for the matters concerning Shanghe Village, you can leave them to me,” Xu Shimin said, pausing Liu Hun for a moment.

Before Liu Hun could speak, Xu Shimin continued, “I’ve heard some things from these two guys. Their families are afraid of that person, but ours isn’t. After all, my old man is just a county city bureau director, and as for my grandfather’s side, we don’t have much of a connection with them.”

Xu Shimin’s words moved Liu Hun.

“You’ve been with me for such a time, and since they are leaving, a farewell meal is essential. I’ll come back tomorrow morning.” After saying that, Liu Hun hung up the phone.

They say adversity reveals true character, and Liu Hun had always understood this. Therefore, the departure of Cheng Feng and Zhang Fan and the staying of Xu Shimin were all things Liu Hun would keep in mind. Who was good and who was bad was just a matter of perspective, and Liu Hun had no interest in passing judgment.

After leaving the restroom, Liu Hun saw from afar several young men harassing Sun Mengmeng in the dance floor.

Liu Hun frowned and walked directly to the center of the dance floor, kicking the few men and sending them flying away.

“Scram! If there’s a next time, you’ll lose your hands.” Liu Hun’s kick suddenly alerted everyone in the bar.

As the music in the bar ceased, other dancers slowly retreated from the dance floor, leaving only Liu Hun, Sun Mengmeng, and the few young men.

“Fucking hell, little bastard Sun, do you know who I am? Daring to hit me, are you tired of living?” One of the young men with dyed red hair, clutching his aching stomach, stood up and glared at Liu Hun with gritted teeth.

“I don’t care who you are. I told you, my boyfriend is very formidable, and you didn’t believe me. Now you know, right?” Sun Mengmeng hid behind Liu Hun, excitedly shouting at the men, as if she relished the chaos.

“Damn it, you little slut. After I beat your boyfriend to the ground, I want to see if you’re as fierce in bed as you are with your mouth!” The young man finished speaking and turned to the surrounding security guards, yelling, “Kill him!”

As his words fell, all the security guards in the venue, holding stun batons, slowly advanced towards Liu Hun.

Seeing this, Liu Hun’s brow furrowed slightly. If Sun Mengmeng wasn’t there, it might have been a different story, but with her present, Liu Hun had to be mindful of her safety.

“Hold on to me tight.” Liu Hun reached out and grabbed Sun Mengmeng firmly, a cold light flickering in his eyes. Facing the two guards who charged at him first, Liu Hun swept his foot out, flinging both guards into the air and crashing heavily onto several tables.

In less than three minutes, Liu Hun had laid more than ten security guards flat on the ground. The few onlookers that remained were few and far between.

“Ha ha, little red-head, now you know how formidable my boyfriend is, huh? Apologize to your mistress quickly, or else my boyfriend will beat you up again!” Sun Mengmeng, far from frightened by the scene, was actually exhilarated.

Hearing Sun Mengmeng’s words, the red-haired young man’s face turned sour, and he was powerless to retort; he had seen Liu Hun’s ruthless methods, knowing that more than half of the security guards wouldn’t be able to get out of bed for a month. He didn’t want to end up like them.

“Clap, clap, clap… What excellent skills, taking down all my expensive security guards in two to three minutes. I have to say, you are indeed a strong man.” Just as the red-headed young man hesitated whether to apologize to Sun Mengmeng, a middle-aged man walked down from the stairway, clapping and smiling at Liu Hun.

Liu Hun glanced at the middle-aged man, who had a typical square face and a crew cut that made him look particularly sharp.

The prominence of his temples indicated that he was also a trained fighter.

“Uncle Zhong, please help me get revenge, kill this little runt!” The red-haired young man, seeing the arrival of this person, seemed to have found a savior and hurriedly approached him, excitedly saying.

“Such nonsense, guests should be treated as such, apologize to him right now!” The middle-aged man harshly rebuked upon hearing the redhead’s words.

“Uncle Zhong, I…” To this point, the red-haired young man was still struggling to believe what he had heard.

Seeing the stern look on the middle-aged man’s face, the redhead knew he wasn’t joking. Thinking of Uncle Zhong’s ruthless methods, he shivered and turned to begrudgingly say to Liu Hun, “I’m sorry.”

“If there’s nothing else, we’ll be leaving now.” Liu Hun took a deep look at the man known as Uncle Zhong and said indifferently.

“This is a card for our bar’s VIP. If you wish to come again, all expenses will be waived, and such incidents will not happen again.” Uncle Zhong handed a card to Liu Hun, who, however, did not take it.

Turning around, he left the bar with Sun Mengmeng.

“Uncle Zhong, why?” As soon as Liu Hun left, the redhead asked with a mixture of reluctance and dissatisfaction.

“Do you know who that girl with him is? She’s Mr. Chen’s precious granddaughter. To be Mr. Chen’s grandson-in-law and possess such skills, do you think he’s someone we can afford to provoke? Even putting that relationship aside, I couldn’t match his skills.” Uncle Zhong took a deep breath, looking at the redhead with some emotion.

“Just be more careful in the future and don’t offend people lightly. Take this as a lesson. I’m going to report the situation to your father.” Uncle Zhong said and went upstairs without paying any further attention to the stupefied redhead.

“Brother Hun, I’m going to drive you to a place next!” As soon as they stepped out of the bar, Sun Mengmeng’s excitement hadn’t faded, and she asked Liu Hun with expectation.

Knowing that Sun Mengmeng shouldn’t drive after drinking, yet facing her hopeful gaze, Liu Hun still didn’t refuse and nodded in agreement.
