Chapter 759: Chapter 707 Mercenary
However, as soon as the two stepped out of the room and saw the scene in front of them, their faces turned pale.
Outside the room, there was a small stool with a necklace and a piece of paper on it. Liu Hun remembered clearly that this necklace was always worn around Chu Mengyao’s neck.
Slowly approaching the stool, Liu Hun picked up the note and glanced at it, a cold killing intent flashing through his eyes.
Even Old Hu, standing beside him, was startled by the murderous aura emanating from Liu Hun’s eyes.
He had killed people before, so he was familiar with the intent to kill, but he had never seen anyone emit such intense murderous aura; he was almost certain that Liu Hun must have killed people before, and not just a few!
“What kind of person is he exactly?” Old Hu was somewhat horrified in his heart.
After reading the note, Liu Hun immediately pulled out his phone and called Zhang Fan, “How is the security arrangement going?”
“What’s wrong, Boss? Did something happen? According to your instructions, I’ve only found a few ex-special forces soldiers so far…” Zhang Fan, sensing something unusual over the phone, hurriedly asked.
“Send two of them to protect my sister at school, right now!” Liu Hun said, and hung up the phone, then turned to Old Hu and instructed, “Grandpa Hu, I need you to go to Shanghe Village and gather all the villagers. I think this way, no matter who it is, they should not dare to attack ordinary villagers.”
“Be careful,” Old Hu nodded, his expression complicated.
With that, Liu Hun dashed towards the edge of Lower River Village.
Liu Hun could discern from the residual scent in the air that the direction in which Chu Mengyao and the others had disappeared was this way.
However, Liu Hun was not familiar with the terrain of Lower River Village; given the urgency of the situation, he couldn’t afford to think it through.
Arriving at the edge of Lower River Village, Liu Hun looked at the river ahead, his brow furrowing slightly. This river connected Shanghe Village and Lower River Village, and it was a long distance to where it flowed into the sea.
“The footsteps are light, but they leave prints. Mengyao and Hu Hansan were probably just knocked unconscious, temporarily not in danger; but I want to see who is stirring up trouble behind the scenes!” Liu Hun said, took a few deep breaths, and continued to follow the footprints quickly.
Even among the mountains, Liu Hun moved as swiftly as a monkey, quickly reaching a large mountain.
As soon as he entered this mountain, the scent completely dispersed and Liu Hun’s brow furrowed. In such an environment, if the scent dissipated, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack to locate someone next.
Moreover, the longer it took, the more dangerous it was for Chu Mengyao and Hu Hansan because Liu Hun still wasn’t sure who had taken them.
The note merely informed Liu Hun that they had temporarily taken the people, and that they would contact them if needed.
You, not you all, this made Liu Hun suddenly realize a problem—the other party must know about his existence, so they did not disturb him. But this was in Lower River Village; who could possibly be so familiar with everything in the village?
“Damn! It’s a trap!” A flash of anger crossed Liu Hun’s eyes, his expression turning ugly.
However, just as he was about to leave this mountain, Liu Hun suddenly stopped, scanned the eerily silent forest, and muttered with a sneer, “Since you’re all here, how come you don’t dare show yourselves to a young man?”
“Clap, clap, clap…” Following Liu Hun’s words, three middle-aged men in gray clothes slowly emerged from behind several large trees, with the one in the lead who had a scarred face clapping and laughing, “The boss said earlier that there was a master here, I didn’t believe it, but now I finally understand what he meant; indeed, heroes emerge from youth.”
“Where are they?” Liu Hun’s eyes narrowed slightly, he asked sternly.
“If it was an ordinary farm child who saw us fully armed, they probably would have been terrified by now. But you were able to track us here and realized you were being trapped; I’m curious, how did you manage it?” The scarred middle-aged man did not answer Liu Hun’s question, his eyes gleaming fiercely with curiosity.
“Who I am is not important, what matters are you.” A cold light flashed in Liu Hun’s eyes; if even a second were wasted, the chances of finding Chu Mengyao and Hu Hansan would diminish.
Seeing their appearance, Liu Hun knew they were mercenaries, and such people, even if caught, would still not disclose the whereabouts of their target; therefore, Liu Hun must quickly subdue the three to prevent them from committing suicide.
“We are mercenaries, do you know what a mercenary is?” The three men looked at each other and laughed.
In their eyes, Liu Hun was indeed clever, but at the end of the day, he was just a frail village boy, nothing to be afraid of.
“I haven’t had a good fight in a long time, I hope you won’t disappoint me,” Liu Hun said, ignoring the three men. As soon as he finished speaking, he lightly tapped his feet on the ground, moving swiftly and sharply towards them like an eagle in flight.
The scar-faced middle-aged man in the front was the first to react. He had just reached for the pistol at his waist when a gust of wind struck his face.
He knew that if he tried to reach for his gun now, Liu Hun would undoubtedly land a punch on him. To stir up such gusts with a swing of his fist was not something an ordinary person could achieve; hence, he dared not take that risk.
Shocked to find such an expert in a small mountain village, the man didn’t have time to think further. With one hand formed into a palm, he tried to grab Liu Hun’s fist.
Unfortunately, having reached the First Layer of the Divine Doctor Technique, Liu Hun found it easy to handle these ordinary mercenaries.
“Crack!” A punch landed in the palm of the man’s hand, the powerful force breaking his arm completely.
Bone shards from his shoulder protruded grotesquely from the flesh.
“Pathetic!” Liu Hun sneered. His right hand shot out like a venomous snake, grabbing and dislocating the man’s jaw, while his left hand pulled out the pistol from the man’s waist and fired several shots at the two mercenaries behind him.
After hitting the legs of the two mercenaries, Liu Hun aimed the pistol at the thigh of the scar-faced middle-aged man and fired two more shots.
Then, Liu Hun swiftly moved to the two mercenaries, dislocating their jaws as well and extracting venom sacs from their mouths.
“Who exactly are you?” Liu Hun approached the scar-faced man, restored his jaw, and the man, with a pale face, bearing the intense pain, stared hard at Liu Hun and asked.
In just a blink of an eye, these mercenaries, who had been through countless life-and-death situations, had now been defeated by a villager. It was an unbelievable ordeal.
And worse, they were now unable to commit suicide.
“I told you, who I am is not important. What matters are you! If you tell me now who hired you and where the kidnapped people are, I might let you die a little easier,” Liu Hun stated, looking down at the three mercenaries collapsed on the ground like mud.
“It seems we really underestimated the difficulty of this mission. Now that we’ve fallen into your hands, you probably know the rules of our line of work. Even in death, it’s impossible to reveal that information to you,” the scar-faced middle-aged man, propping himself against a tree, took out a cigar from his pocket, lit it, and coldly responded while watching Liu Hun.
A devilish smile appeared on Liu Hun’s lips as he approached one of the mercenaries, dislocating all the bones in his body, filling the mountain forest with continuous wails of agony. It was a terrifying scene.
“If that’s all you’ve got, I advise you not to waste your energy. It’s useless to us,” the scar-faced middle-aged man said, deeply looking at his brother lying motionless on the ground, suppressing the rage in his heart.
“Good, very good. Since you are not afraid to die, I want to see if your families are afraid to die,” Liu Hun remarked and took out his phone from his pocket, dialed a number, and put it on speaker.
“I’m Zero.” As soon as the call connected, Liu Hun said to the three mercenaries, “There’s a hound icon on their wrists. Get me details on this mercenary group.”
“Alright, Zero, one moment,” the cold voice on the other end replied.
Shortly after, the voice spoke again, “Zero, their mercenary group is named Hound, a third-rate unit with less than fifty people, and all their mercenaries are rookies. What are your instructions?”
“Do we have any difficulty erasing them?” Liu Hun asked sternly.
“With the development of Zero now, wiping out a third-rate mercenary group is very easy,” the person on the other side replied with a hint of pride.
“Kill everyone in their mercenary group, and their families as well,” Liu Hun coldly ordered.
“Yes, Zero,” the person said, then immediately hung up.
At that moment, the three mercenaries looked at Liu Hun with faces filled with abject terror.
“You… You are the legendary Zero from the Zero Mercenary Group?” the scar-faced middle-aged man asked Liu Hun despairingly, still somewhat in disbelief.
In the world of mercenaries, Zero was a mythic figure. Seven years ago, the Zero Mercenary Group had only three members. In one year, they reached third-rate status, in three more years, second-rate, and in the following three years, they had ascended into the top three first-rate mercenary groups in the world!
