Chapter 734: Chapter 682: What Counts

Facing the cold ridicule of everyone, Liu Hun was unmoved, while Chu Mengyao, seeing everyone’s gaze filled with mockery, felt somewhat indignant.

“Is that him?” As the crowd sneered and mocked, Han Xin’er, wearing a white dress, looked at Liu Hun in surprise from a corner not far away.

“Cousin, do you know that fool?” A young man beside Han Xin’er asked her curiously.

“He’s the one who saved my life before, Cousin, why don’t you go and help him?” Han Xin’er looked at Liu Hun worriedly.

“Cousin, there’s nothing I can do about this situation, even though our Han Family isn’t afraid of the Xu Family. It’s better not to offend them if we can avoid it,” the young man sighed bitterly, feeling helpless.

“But he is my lifesaver, am I just supposed to watch him being bullied by Xu Shimin?” Han Xin’er bit her red lips tightly and stood up, walking towards Liu Hun.

“Beauty, it’s really not worth it to follow such a fool. If you agree to dance this dance with me, you can ask for anything you want—just not the stars in the sky. I, Xu Shimin, can agree to it. What do you say?” As soon as Xu Shimin spoke, the whole audience was astonished.

Just by dancing one dance, you could ask for anything? Even Qin Ya at the side felt envious.

“How my boyfriend is, is not for you to judge!” Chu Mengyao coldly retorted, “Even if I can’t even eat enough when I’m with him, I’m willing!”

Chu Mengyao’s ruthless rejection left the crowd wide-eyed in disbelief.

“Haha, beauty, whether you’re boyfriend and girlfriend or not, I, Xu Shimin, am not a fool; I can see that much, so you don’t have to pretend.” Everyone thought Xu Shimin would be embarrassed, but his words left Chu Mengyao speechless.

Chu Mengyao was indeed speaking out of anger, angry that they looked down on Liu Hun, but her words were unexpectedly revealed by Xu Shimin.

“Mengyao, you don’t have to…” Liu Hun looked at Chu Mengyao, who was fuming, and forced a smile. For him, such a scene wasn’t taken to heart; it wasn’t that he didn’t care about people’s opinions, but after experiencing many drastic changes, small matters like this no longer stirred any reaction in him.

“Fine, since you said we’re not boyfriend and girlfriend, I’ll prove it to you!” In a fit of anger, Chu Mengyao stretched out her arms, wrapped them around Liu Hun’s neck, and pressed her red lips against his.

The scene left everyone dumbfounded. Liu Hun wasn’t very handsome, more a rugged type, especially being at an event filled with officials’ children who could instantly tell Liu Hun dressed in street market clothes.

Chu Mengyao, the epitome of a favored daughter of heaven, kissing Liu Hun, a lowly chap, looked rather ludicrous.

“Can you tell now that I’m his girlfriend?” After kissing Liu Hun, Chu Mengyao’s face turned slightly red under the lights, making her even more charming.

“You! Fine, fine, fine!” Xu Shimin suppressed his anger and turned away.

Just as Han Xin’er was walking away, she stopped in her tracks upon seeing this scene, took a deep breath, and turned back.

“Mengyao, you really didn’t have to give up your first kiss just to speak out for me,” Liu Hun said after Xu Shimin left, feeling the lingering scent on his lips and smiling wryly.

“Don’t act like you’ve gained something and still play innocent. I, Chu Mengyao, look down on those who bully others with a bit of family power; and who told you that was my first kiss!” Chu Mengyao’s cheeks flushed, glaring fiercely at Liu Hun, annoyed.

“Hello, I’m Han Yun, dude, nice moves getting a beauty to kiss you willingly. This is the first time I’ve seen anything like it,” Han Yun slowly approached Liu Hun, reaching out and smiling.

Hearing that, Liu Hun glanced deeply at Han Yun before shaking his hand and said, laughing lightly, “Can’t help it, it’s not my fault being handsome.”

“Haha, you’re the most shameless person I’ve ever met, Han Yun. How about we become friends?” Han Yun laughed and looked at Liu Hun.

“Why?” Liu Hun didn’t believe it was because of his imposing aura that this guy approached him voluntarily.

“What if I told you my cousin sent me over, would you believe it?” Han Yun said, waving his hand, “You’ll find out about my cousin later, but I’m curious, now that you’ve offended Xu Shimin, what do you plan to do next?”

“Xu Shimin? Isn’t he just a son of a director of the Bureau of Industry and Commerce, what’s there to worry about?” Liu Hun said casually.

“Xu Shimin holds a grudge, and though his old man is just a small-time Bureau of Industry and Commerce director, what if his grandfather is someone from the Central?” Han Yun said with a slight smile, looking at Liu Hun with interest.

He really wanted to see Liu Hun regretful and afraid, but he was wrong; even when he revealed the identity of Xu Shimin’s grandfather, Liu Hun’s expression remained unchanged.

“There’s a car race coming up. If you win, maybe this matter can be settled, but if you lose, he probably won’t let you off easily.” Han Yun looked at Liu Hun’s calm face, paused for a moment, and then continued.

“Then thanks in advance.” Liu Hun slightly smiled and nodded to Han Yun.

Seeing that Liu Hun didn’t say much, Han Yun made some small talk and then left. The party ended in less than an hour because of Liu Hun’s arrival.

“Hun, are you really planning to race with Xu Shimin and the others?” At this moment, on a deserted highway, Lu Chuan looked at Liu Hun with concern.

He had gone to receive the other rich heirs earlier, so he only found out about the conflict between Liu Hun and Xu Shimin later.

“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” Liu Hun patted Lu Chuan’s shoulder and smiled.

“Kid, since you want to play, let me make the rules clear to you. Other than having someone in the passenger seat, if you lose, the car will be ours. I hope you won’t cry too much when the time comes.” Xu Shimin coldly said to Liu Hun from a distance.

“Liu Hun, although I don’t know where your car came from, as an old classmate, I still advise you to get lost now while you can.” Qin Ya, standing beside Xu Shimin, shouted at Liu Hun disdainfully.

“Which one of you two is getting in the car?” Liu Hun ignored them and asked Chu Mengyao and Lu Chuan standing beside him.

“Me.”

“Me.”

Both answered at once; Chu Mengyao then said directly, “As your girlfriend, it should obviously be me. Besides, I want to see just how many secrets you’re still hiding from me!”

Chu Mengyao snorted coldly and opened the passenger door of the BMW X5 and sat down.

“Cousin, who do you think will win this race?” Inside a Ferrari, Han Yun curiously asked Han Xin’er, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

“How would I know about these things you spoiled heirs play with?” Han Xin’er glanced at Han Yun before saying seriously, “In terms of car performance, Liu Hun’s is the worst, but this road has many curves, and the main competition is driving skill. Plus, it’s Liu Hun’s first time on this road. It seems like he doesn’t stand much chance, not even a bit, but my instinct tells me he’s trustworthy,” Han Xin’er elaborated.

“Cousin, you wouldn’t happen to have taken an interest in that guy, right? I’m telling you, when a girl becomes curious about a man, it’s the beginning of something, and she’ll eventually fall deep into it without realizing it!” Han Yun warned Han Xin’er with some concern.

“Just drive your car!” Han Xin’er glared at Han Yun and snapped.

“Holy shit, how is that possible… This kid doesn’t even slow down on the turns and perfectly drifts through them!” Inside a Porsche, Xu Shimin watched the BMW swiftly overtake him, unable to contain his curse.

“Holy shit, cousin, I take back what I said, go chase after that guy. Damn, this kid is really something else!” In the Ferrari behind Xu Shimin’s Porsche, Han Yun’s eyes widened as he watched the BMW X5 disappear ahead, he couldn’t help but exclaim.

Twenty minutes later, Liu Hun reached the finish line, got out of the car, leaned on the hood, and grinned as he watched Xu Shimin and the others approach.

But as soon as Xu Shimin got out of his car, he grabbed Liu Hun’s collar and roared loudly, “Kid, you fucking cheated!”

Facing Xu Shimin’s rage, Liu Hun kicked out swiftly, sending Xu Shimin’s body flying backward, crashing to the ground heavily.

“I really dislike being grabbed by the collar, so consider this a warning. I know your family has big connections, but no matter if you want to settle this through words or fists, I, Liu Hun, will see it through to the end; of course, if you can’t accept losing, then forget I said anything.” Liu Hun shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, looking down at Xu Shimin on the ground.

“Holy shit, I’m going to fight you!”

Xu Shimin had trained with his grandfather according to military standards from a young age and, in terms of combat power, there were few in the city who could match him.

But with Xu Shimin utterly enraged and not holding back in his attacks, no matter what he did, he still ended up on the ground.

“If it wasn’t for that slight power your family holds, you would be nothing.” Liu Hun looked down at Xu Shimin sprawled on the ground disdainfully.

“Before, I might have been a fool and a poor man’s son, but at least I worked hard with my own hands, unlike you who only knows how to indulge in food and fun, good for nothing; you can’t beat me in driving or fighting; other than your status, what do you have that compares to me?” Liu Hun looked down at the unmoved Xu Shimin on the ground, unapologetically speaking.
