Chapter 466: Chapter 9 Flying Snake

The land of Little Beiming was covered in snow, perennially cloaked in ice. Towering, ice-capped mountains stood under the Cangqiong, where the bitter cold made the survival of living creatures strenuous.

After returning to Little Beiming from Nuwa Palace, Taiyi led Kunpeng through the deep recesses of Little Beiming with an air of secrecy. They walked on snow, leaving not a single trace behind.

"Hm? We’re here!" Suddenly, Taiyi halted, pointing towards a seemingly cold, but unfrozen pond not far away, and said, "Fellow Daoist, accompany me!"

Without waiting for Kunpeng to react, Taiyi let out a long howl, transforming into a giant and blazing Golden Crow, plunging straight into the depths of the pond.

"Splash!"

With a loud noise, the Heaven and Earth Cracked, and the huge waves shrouded with a biting chill surged up into the void, instantly freezing into ice amidst dancing in the sky, while the Pure Gold flames tore through the frigid pond and penetrated into the depths of the icy sea.

"Splash!" Kunpeng immediately followed Taiyi and dived into the frigid pond.

In the vast ice field, another earth-shattering collapse ensued, this attack resulting in countless square miles of fractured ice, causing a tremendous avalanche.

In the icy black abyss of the seabed, devoid of any reference point, only an extremely limited number of water attribute sea creatures could survive in this harsh icy land.

As time passed, when the seabed that stretched for hundreds of thousands of miles appeared before their eyes, Taiyi finally stopped moving.

"Fellow Daoist, keep up!" Sensing the direction, Taiyi burst into a flash, speeding towards the south.

After approximately two hundred sea miles, a massive ocean trench appeared before their eyes, looking downward, it was unfathomably deep, eerie, and terrifying.

Immense and unmatched energy fluctuations pulsated incessantly, as if they could break free from the constraints of the seawater and soar straight into the sky at any moment.

"Fellow Daoist, follow me!" Two flames of dazzling gold flashed in Taiyi’s eyes, shooting straight into the seabed.

Kunpeng watched the ocean trench with uncertainty; although he was the one who created the land of Little Beiming, he did not expect such a miraculous place to exist.

Following Taiyi deep into tens of thousands of miles, gradually, a resplendent bluish glow flickered past.

In the center of the ocean trench ahead, a blue, spherical object about a few dozen meters in diameter floated above the seabed. Despite the immense water pressure, it still shone brilliantly, bobbing up and down.

"Is this, this the Eye of the Sea?" Kunpeng was utterly shocked. He should have realized it earlier.

Taiyi smiled lightly and said, "This is the work of Qingmingzi, whom I beseeched to set up a Seal Technique here! He placed a seal here to contain the Northern Abyss icy sea eye. Otherwise, how did Fellow Daoist think Little Beiming could have taken shape?"

"That’s inconceivable!" Kunpeng’s face was full of awe, although he knew his master possessed vast Divine Skills, he didn’t expect him to have the capability to seize control of a sea eye.

"Well then, Fellow Daoist, spare me your astonishment!" Taiyi chuckled, pointing to the center of the sphere and said, "Come with me!"

Following the direction of Taiyi’s finger, they saw a square, black portal about a few meters wide, wrapped in a layer of faint water-blue light.

"Let’s go." Taiyi changed the Seal Technique with his hands, retracting the light screen. Dragging Kunpeng with him, they passed through the water screen and entered the portal.

As soon as they stepped through the gate, they both felt a tremor, and the scenery before their eyes had completely changed.

Looking around, this place was a vast, dark Imperial Palace. The palace was supported by countless sturdy pillars, bearing the heavy structure, and was covered with golden Tao Runes. From time to time, a strong collision sound came from the depths of the palace.

"Your Majesty, where is this?" Kunpeng suppressed the shock in his heart and stepped forward to ask.

Although Kunpeng was credited with the creation of Little Beiming, he had never known about such a place in the Northern Abyss.

"This is the Demon Suppression Tower!" Taiyi strode towards the back of the hall and elaborated, "When we established the Heavenly Court in the past, we had already crafted the Demon Suppression Tower. Inside, we detained those Accumulated Old Demons who refused to obey the Heavenly Court. Over the years, we have sealed and suppressed around a hundred Great Demons. This place is quite hidden, and including you, fewer than a handful of people know about it!"

"Sss!" Kunpeng gasped. He did not expect the Demon Court to still retain such a place, but what puzzled him was why during the Witch Demon War, these Great Demons were not released.

Seeing the puzzled look on Kunpeng’s face, Taiyi bitterly smiled and explained, "I know what you’re thinking! It wasn’t that we didn’t release them back then; it’s that these fellows simply didn’t wish to come out. They are all old monsters who have cultivated for eons, none of whom are blind to the situation. Even if we let them out, if they intended to avoid the calamity, our fate would still be doomed!"

Upon saying this, Taiyi had already brought Kunpeng to the front of a towering structure, it loomed high, nearly ten thousand meters tall, its entirety shimmering with the color of ancient bronze. Amidst the dragons and phoenixes carved on its surface, the overwhelming pressure of the Great Dao was palpitating.

At the entrance of the first layer of the high tower, there hung a shiny golden plaque, on which three Great Dao runes were inscribed with firm strokes—the words "Demon Suppression Tower"!

"Your Majesty, are you planning to?" Kunpeng, watching Taiyi use the Seal Technique to enter the Demon Suppression Tower, hurriedly followed up and asked.

"You’ll know in a moment!" Taiyi ascended the stairs and made his way straight up to the higher levels of the tower.

It wasn’t until the thirty-third floor that Taiyi halted his steps. He called out to the empty tower floor: "Flying Snake Fellow Daoist, an old friend has come to visit. Why do you hide and not show yourself?"

"Flying Snake!" Kunpeng’s eyes narrowed, and his heart was immediately thrown into turmoil.

Flying Snake, an Ancient Fierce Beast resembling a giant dragon, clawless but with a pair of wings on its ribs, innate mastery of the Water Law. It had once followed Demon Ancestor Luo Hou in battle across the Primordial lands, possessing the combat strength of the Middle Stage Quasi-Saint. After the defeat of Demon Ancestor Luo Hou, Flying Snake’s whereabouts became unknown.

Kunpeng would never have imagined that such a formidable beast from times past would be imprisoned by Taiyi in this Demon Suppression Tower. This was utterly inconceivable!

While contemplating this, a loud and crude voice echoed through the barren hall: "Taiyi, you mangy bird, what are you doing here again? Where’s that damned brother of yours? There isn’t a single good bird in the Heavenly Court!"

Taiyi offered a wry smile and said: "Fellow Daoist, our Demon Race was defeated during the Witch Demon War, and my brother was even punished to transform into the Great Sun, illuminating all heavens and myriad worlds. As for the Heavenly Court, haha... it has long since stopped being ours!"

"Pat, pat, pat..."

Following the crisp sound of footsteps, a young man about nine feet tall emerged from the dark corners.

Clad in a black Daoist robe and wearing a pair of Cloud-piercing Purple Moon Boots, his shiny black hair draped casually over his shoulders, his handsome face nearly demonic in beauty, carried an expression of schadenfreude.

"Is that so? What a pity. We’ve been old friends for so many years; I had hoped to get closer to him!" Although Flying Snake’s words contained sorrow, the smile at the corners of his mouth grew wider and wider, clearly overjoyed.

Kunpeng silently observed the graceful young man before him, his Primordial Spirit lightly canvassing the newcomer, only to realize that he possessed the Cultivation of the Early Sub-Saint stage. He couldn’t help thinking: "Damn it, none of these old demons is easy to deal with!"

Taiyi let out a sigh and said: "Fellow Daoist, a lot has happened over the years. Even your old master, Demon Ancestor Luo Hou, has turned to dust and vanished."

At these words, Flying Snake fell into a long silence, then spoke dejectedly: "Oh? I knew that old guy Luo Hou wouldn’t live long, but I didn’t expect that even as the outsider Heavenly Dao, he still couldn’t escape doom!"

Seeing Flying Snake’s nostalgic expression, Taiyi simply took out tables, chairs, and a variety of delicacies from his storage space, and began to recount the significant events that had occurred over the years to Flying Snake.

Three rounds of drinks passed, and the five flavors of food were sampled.

With a smile, Flying Snake looked at Taiyi and said: "Come on then, one does not visit the temple without a cause. With your character, Taiyi, of not releasing the hawk without seeing the rabbit, you wouldn’t have come to find me in the Demon Suppression Tower just for drinks if you had nothing in mind!"

Taiyi downed the wine in his cup and said: "Nothing gets past Fellow Daoist! Now on the land of Huaxia, the Human Clan’s Five Emperors have changed, and several Saints are also indifferent towards them. With Lady Nuwa’s consent, we have decided to unleash natural disasters upon the Human Clan. Thus, I would like to ask Fellow Daoist for assistance!"

"Oh? How can I assist?" Interest flashed in Flying Snake’s eyes as he inquired.

"You, Fellow Daoist, are a naturally born divine spirit of water, far surpassing the Dragon Clan several times over. I would like to ask you to stir up floods at the Yellow River, Huai River, and the line along Wei River, bringing calamity to the Human Clan!" Taiyi’s eyes flashed with ruthlessness as he spoke through gritted teeth.

Flying Snake stared at Taiyi for a long while, then suddenly broke into a smile, saying: "Fine, to thank you for telling me all this today, I’ll help you out! Anyways, I’ve grown tired of being in this tower all these years; a trip outside wouldn’t hurt."

Taiyi and Kunpeng hastily got up and bowed: "Many thanks, Fellow Daoist!"

Flying Snake waved his hand, his eyes brimming with laughter.

...

On the beautiful East Sea Penglai Island, where layers of radiant clouds rose, strands of exquisite celestial music reverberated in the skies above the East Sea.

Li Qingming stared at Nuwa, who had suddenly visited, saying: "Natural disaster?"

"That’s right!" Nuwa gazed unwaveringly at Li Qingming and said: "Taiyi intends to directly invoke natural disasters to wreak havoc upon the Human Clan."

Li Qingming stroked his clean-shaven chin, muttering under his breath: "Natural disaster, natural disaster... what kind of disaster could it be? I’ve already subdued the Red Bottomed Horse Monkey, and without Wu Zhiqi, would floods still erupt? Or is it earthquakes? Rain of fire? Tornadoes? Damn, this makes no sense!"

With that thought, he irritably gulped down the tea in his cup, only to be shocked to find a faint red lipstick mark on the cup.

Looking at Nuwa’s blushing face opposite him, he instantly understood what had happened.

Suddenly, the irritation in his heart dissipated, and Li Qingming awkwardly said: "Well uh, Lady Nuwa, this is a misunderstanding..."

Nuwa shot Li Qingming a glowering look and floated away.

Li Qingming looked at the teacup in his hand and bitterly smiled: "Damn, what’s this all about!" (To be continued.
