Chapter 863 - 863: Self Supporting Universe - 863

Leaf seemed ashamed and turned away, not wanting to answer.

Zhou Fan sighed. "It's fine. But what is that power?"

Leaf seemed more excited, ready to show off.

Like Monty, Leaf was at the Peak of the Earth Immortal realm. He still cultivated slowly, but so did everyone else nowadays. Since he was an immortal, it didn't really matter. Leaf seemed to struggle thinking of how to best show off this power, so Zhou Fan simply told it to attack him.

Leaf hesitated, but Zhou Fan assured him it would be okay.

As Leaf prepared, Zhou Fan didn't take it seriously. He decided that no matter how strong it was, he would act like he got pushed back a little, just to inspire Leaf a bit.

After a minute, Leaf nodded.

A small green slash, no larger than a normal human, shot at Zhou Fan. He didn't pay much attention, raising a hand to stop it.

Then, it hit him.

Zhou Fan was sent flying back. He tumbled uncontrollably and spat out blood, being sent flying out of the Universe.

Leaf instantly panicked. He stood at the wall of the Universe, but didn't dare exit.

In just a few seconds, Zhou Fan returned. For a moment, he looked at Leaf in disbelief. Then he laughed.

He laughed uncontrollably. Tears started to pour from his eyes as Leaf and Heaven looked at him weirdly. They had never seen him so genuine.

Zhou Fan stared above him as tears fell. He had really thought that he would never experience the feeling of an equal existence. After the clouds of time had disappeared, he thought he would never again experience a fun fight.

But Leaf's attack had disproved that. Right now, he could say with full confidence that Leaf had created something unprecedented. It was something stronger than Chaos. Something stronger than nothingness.

The power that Leaf had created was something beyond the scope of the Universe, something that should not exist.

Zhou Fan walked in front of Leaf.

He grabbed him with joy. Leaf had never experienced this before, and was stunned silent.

Zhou Fan held Leaf like a proud father held his child in the air.

"Leaf! You are the first in history to truly surpass me in something! You alone have the talent to truly surpass me! We must learn the full extent of that power you created at once."

There was only one power in all of existence even slightly comparable to Leaf's new power, and that was the Power of Cultivation.

Despite that, it was not nearly as strong as Leaf's new power.

Zhou Fan had been content with it, because he had not envisioned that something greater could exist. Yet Leaf had shown him that he, the first cultivator, the strongest in all periods of time, the sole person who could destroy all of existence, that he was lacking! He had been content for far too long, as there was no reason not to be. Nothing could surpass him, until now.

Leaf was thrilled to see Zhou Fan truly proud of him.

Though he was quite bad at communicating, he began to explain his power to Zhou Fan. He lacked the proper words, but such powerful beings had long transcended language.

Zhou Fan understood it well.

Leaf explained that his power was the purest form of life imaginable. It was made of all parts of life. This was not simply limited to life energy, but expanded into all concepts such as growth and origin, which Zhou Fan had naturally comprehended.

But Leaf could not properly explain all of it, as he truly didn't understand it fully. He only knew that he was able to produce this energy very, very slowly. When he sensed the Mother Tree, he was able to tell that it would be able to absorb and produce this energy, which Leaf could then take a part of.

This was similar to the Path Creators' methods of growth, such as Ye Li's Karma farms and the God of Death's death farms. However, it was also vastly different.

First, this power took a much longer time to produce. Second, it had much more stringent conditions.

Any being could produce Karma by living through life, and could produce death by simply dying. But according to Leaf, the Mother Tree was the first being he could sense that was able to absorb and produce this power.

Zhou Fan was able to tell why with just a bit of thought. The Mother Tree was a large part of this Universe, and in some way, could be called the supporting existence of it.

And as a tree, it naturally resonated a bit with Leaf.

While Zhou Fan was thinking, Leaf threw out a proposal.

He was wondering what would happen if Zhou Fan made the Mother Tree genuinely connected to the existence of the Universe. If it existed, the Universe would exist, and if it died, the Universe would collapse.

Zhou Fan was surprised by Leaf's idea, but didn't find it a bad idea at all. And with his excitement with Leaf's new power, he was willing to try it out.

They brainstormed for a while, and they eventually came up with the idea to use Leaf's power that the Mother Tree created to support the Universe, and what remained he could collect for himself.

If it was someone else, Zhou Fan would call them stupid.

But Leaf's power may just be able to accomplish that with its natural effects.

It was just that incredible. And as the Mother Tree grew stronger, it would be even more incredible.

Zhou Fan changed things around as they had theorized, and it worked. Nothing seemed to change on the outside, but Zhou Fan's power was no longer supporting the Universe. Now, it was the Mother Tree using Leaf's power.

Heaven watched on bitterly as Zhou Fan exclaimed how proud he was of Leaf. He even picked him up a few times and threw him in the air, clearly ecstatic.

But who could Heaven blame? It wasn't that he wasn't talented enough, Leaf was just a monster.
