Chapter 862 - 862: Leaf's Power - 862

It couldn't compare to true Sources or anything like that, but it had some of the functions of one. Even now, Zhou Fan could not sense the Sources at all. But that was fair, as he could not technically sense the existence of Rules either. Even if Rules were partially created by the comprehenders, he should at least be able to sense the created ones, theoretically at least.

He didn't think too deeply, focusing on the fact that he had just more or less created the first new, accessible Universe. For him at least.

Just to test it out and make sure that the idea truly worked, he stepped outside of the Universe.

He focused on two connections. One was the Main Universe, where he was born and lived all of his life. He had a connection with it that could not be broken even if he wanted to. The second was a much fainter connection, but he was able to read it clearly. With a step, he appeared inside of the new Universe once again.

Heaven breathed a sigh of relief. Although he had infinite confidence in Zhou Fan, the idea of being stranded for infinite years until the Universe collapsed was quite terrifying. He would not even be able to grow stronger.

The Path of Heaven focused on what Heaven was best at, being the god of civilizations. More or less, that was the main idea.

Zhou Fan also heaved a sigh of relief. Since everything worked out, it meant that the nothingness was no longer a limiter. As long as he could form enough connections, he could theoretically create infinite Universes. It's not like he would run out of space within the nothingness. He was now unmatched not only throughout existence, but non-existence as well.

For the time being, he didn't have any intention of creating new Universes. It wasn't like he didn't feel anything from literally maintaining this Universe's existence. Perhaps he could create five, ten, and a hundred, but around two hundred, he would begin to weaken noticeably. It was just like how his Mortal Dao had been unable to cover everything.

Now, with this blank canvas, he could begin what he had not done in a very long time. Create life. Without the Universe itself limiting certain extremes, he could also be infinitely more creative.

For some reason, the first thought that entered his mind was Leaf, who was still in the Main Universe.

He might as well take the sudden inspiration. It wasn't like he couldn't create another.

Zhou Fan's power was already unimaginable. In short, he was a god in every sense of the word.

So when he started doing god-like things, Heaven wasn't surprised at all.

He waved his hand, and a large tree appeared. It was the first being in this Universe, though it wasn't sentient.

Since Zhou Fan could produce Chaos Qi, and the body he created passively gave it off by design, the tree would be able to cultivate or create its own path. Of course, the Chaos Qi split into the myriad Qis automatically, leaving just as much Chaos Qi as Fire Qi, Water Qi, and so on.

Of course, he also made sure all beings created had the instinct to grow stronger, whether that meant cultivating or creating their own path.

The tree was so large that it took up most of the Universe.

Just its trunk took up around 20%, reaching from top to bottom. Its branches spread throughout the rest of the Universe. He created some planets, stars, and galaxies, but they were all miniscule in size compared to the tree.

In his estimation, most beings would choose to live on the branches of the tree, which were as wide as multiple Superclusters put together.

He considered creating the rest of the life himself, but gave another idea a shot. This tree would be the Mother Tree, which creates and protects all life.

With that in mind, he gave it the ability to mass reproduce. In just a moment, it shook, and countless seeds fell. With little dirt in the Universe, most being on planets and some on the tree branches, and little water, these seeds naturally did not grow like normal seeds.

Actually, they only existed in seed form for around ten minutes before they began to sprout. Within a week, all of the seeds had grown into various plants, the majority being trees.

Already, the life in this Universe could sustain itself.

Zhou Fan left, deciding to bring Leaf to have a look. It would count as a present.

It didn't take long to leave and return. When Leaf entered the Universe, he was clearly excited. Even now, he had childlike intelligence. It was unlikely to ever be otherwise at this point.

Although his extremely long innate lifespan was pointless in the Immortal realm, he had an unimaginable amount of… well Zhou Fan actually wasn't sure. The energy was full of life, and even seemed a bit like the Rule of Growth, but was also very different.

He didn't pry too deep, not feeling the need to see through Leaf entirely. It would be better to have some surprises.

Despite that sentiment, he hadn't expected his jaw to actually drop as a green energy flew from Leaf's body and entered the Mother Tree.

He had only sensed whatever power that was for a moment, but it was terrifying. In fact, Zhou Fan not only felt a little bit of inspiration from the Rule of Growth, but the Rule of Origin as well.

But Leaf was still a pure cultivator, which meant that whatever power that was was like Zhou Fan's ability to divine. Even now, he had underestimated Leaf.

It wasn't really worth mentioning, but as a side note, every plant in this Universe had been bowing since Leaf had entered. It didn't matter whether it was intelligent life or not.

When Leaf's power was absorbed by the Mother Tree, it was clearly very excited and thankful, as if a god had descended and granted it power.

It absorbed that energy within its body and began to produce it on its own, though very slowly. It was so slow that even after a week, an amount the size of an atom had been produced. And since the Mother Tree was at the Core Formation realm, it was also very weak.

Zhou Fan turned to Leaf. "Did you just convert her away from the Path of Cultivation?"
