The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard -
Chapter 982: Such a grand display, could it really revive the dead?
Chapter 982: Chapter 982: Such a grand display, could it really revive the dead?
"I don’t know the specific reason either, I just know that the part of the Immortal’s body sealed here is a hand. I saw it many years ago, but was obstructed by numerous Undead Guards and couldn’t get close. Be careful on your own."
Carson Flores curiously asked, "Just a hand?"
"Yes, just a hand, sealed by a Formation, surrounded by wandering Undead Guards and Immortal Slaves. With the strength of a Cultivator of the Barbaric Wilderness Realm, it’s very difficult to get close."
"One shouldn’t be overly eager when it comes to opportunities of Immortal fate. A person should live life freely and fully, not lose their true nature in the mere pursuit of survival. Like those Immortal Slaves, although they are alive, they have lost their freedom. Trapped here for ten thousand years, what meaning is there to such an existence?"
Carson Flores took note of everything Erik Jackson said and finally replied, "Thank you for your guidance, Senior. I’ll go have a look. I’m not sure if I can return here afterward, but no matter what, please hold on, Senior, wait for me!"
Erik Jackson chuckled softly, "Alright, I originally imparted the secret technique to you, fulfilling my wish. I had already prepared to end my life, to escape this suffering. Since you have said so, I will endure a while longer, wait for you to see if I indeed can one day die in a place filled with birdsong and flowers, die in bed..."
Carson Flores bowed respectfully, then bid farewell to Erik Jackson and once again proceeded towards the tunnel ahead.
The words spoken by Erik Jackson once again unveiled many truths.
The Valley of Death was a battlefield for Immortals.
The Immortals who died in battle spilled their blood, causing the entire Valley of Death to mutate, and the bodies of those who died were dismembered and sealed by their adversaries.
What was sealed in the Valley of Death was a hand.
This made Carson Flores unable to help but wonder, if the Immortal’s body had been dismembered, could it still be resurrected?
Even if it could be resurrected, wouldn’t it be easier to just completely destroy the body into nothingness? Was there really a need to seal it by dismembering the body like this?
Wouldn’t that be superfluous?
Carson Flores could only think this way; surely there must be a reason for the Immortals to do so. Otherwise, to destroy the evidence of the corpse was such a simple thing that who would not think of it?
At this moment, Carson Flores came to know the secrets of the Valley of Death, but had even more doubts arise in his heart.
After traveling a certain distance, Carson Flores suddenly stopped. Ahead, a Scarlet Mist was slowly drifting.
This Scarlet Mist appeared very light, almost inconspicuous. If he hadn’t been on guard, he might have collided with it directly.
Carson Flores quietly waited for the Blood Mist to drift off to one side, then walked through slowly without making a sound.
Although he didn’t know what the Blood Mist was, since Erik Jackson had specifically and solemnly warned him, saying it was undoubtedly deadly, it was naturally worthy of his cautious attention.
Next, Carson Flores did not encounter any more surprises, and walked directly to the depths of the mountain belly, appearing in a massive underground cave.
Intense heat assaulted him upon arrival, and the ground was covered with pools of magma. The glowing-red magma was bubbling, emanating a scorching temperature that filled the entire cave with the unpleasant smell of sulfur.
Dark rocks formed a vast open space, and in the center of the space, there was an altar-like platform, surrounded by Formations glowing with red light. Suspended above the Altar was a hand.
This hand appeared to be severed at the shoulder, slender and delicate, fair, with fingers like young green onions, Carson even noticed red nail polish on the nails.
A woman’s hand?
Was a Female Immortal the one who was dismembered and sealed?
The arm just quietly hovered above the Altar, looking not at all terrifying but rather exuding an incomparably beautiful aura.
The mere sight of the severed arm gave Carson Flores the impression, ’If the arm is already this beautiful, its owner must be unmatched in elegance.’
Around the Altar were several massive Undead Guards, along with the previously vanished thug Franklin Wyatt and three other Immortal Slaves, all poised and ready, guarding the Altar.
On the other end of the underground space stood many people, led by a group of Great Perfection of Hollow Void experts, floating various magical treasures before them, flashing with all sorts of lights, prepared for battle at any moment.
Carson Flores’s position was directly in line with the crowd entering the cave and the Altar situated in the middle.
Carson Flores, alone, appeared quite solitary. But the moment he showed up, he was spotted by the crowd on the opposite side.
"Carson Flores!"
"He’s not dead!"
"How did he get on the other side?"
"He actually made it here alone, completely unharmed. Did he not encounter any Undead Guards?"
In the crowd, Kash Lam, Lainey Dragon, and others were surprised and delighted. After they had entered the cave, they couldn’t find Carson Flores at first glance. Upon asking, some said they saw him falling into the Sea of the Undead.
They didn’t believe Carson Flores was necessarily dead, after all, with his miraculous abilities and possessing the Emperor Seal, perhaps the Emperor Seal would save him if it saw he was about to die.
Seeing Carson Flores here unharmed filled them with joy, and they promptly waved their hands in greeting.
In the crowd, Liam Malone’s expression suddenly turned cold, his eyes flashing with resentment and fear.
He’s still not dead?
