Chapter 925: Chapter 925: If You Don’t Enter, I’ll Send You to Your Death

Carson Flores had no response and gave Elsie Matthews a thumbs up.

"You make a good point!"

Seeing Carson’s reaction, Elsie’s expression revealed a moment of surprise and subtlety.

What does that mean?

Sarcasm?

Agreement?

The two fell silent for a moment before Carson asked again, "What kind of place is the Immortal Realm?"

Elsie replied, "Just like the Barbarian Wilderness Realm, it’s a world where the strong prey on the weak, and the powerful are revered."

Carson was speechless. Your answer is as good as no answer.

Well, on second thought, it probably is just like that. If someone asks what the difference between the human world and the Barbarian Wilderness Realm is, really, what is the difference?

The powerful are revered, the strong prey on the weak; it’s just that, without the constraints of law, the Barbarian Wilderness Realm expresses it more thoroughly and without any need for concealment.

Finally, Carson asked, "Is there any chance you won’t kill me?"

Elsie shook her head: "No, I must kill you; otherwise, not severing this connection will become my Heart Demon."

Carson sighed, "So there’s no room for discussion. Would you say this counts as a disaster out of nowhere for me?"

Elsie remained silent, just staring coldly at Carson.

Carson too stayed quiet, closed his eyes to recuperate, quickly restoring his energy. After all, he didn’t know what terrifying presence was in the Forbidden Spirit Palace, but in any case, he couldn’t just sit and wait for his doom.

He sat there for several hours, and it gradually became darker.

Suddenly, Elsie spoke. "Are you planning to just sit there indefinitely?"

Carson replied, "What else can I do?"

Elsie gestured towards the palace doors with her chin. "The Forbidden Spirit Palace doesn’t appear all the time. Since you’ve come across it, don’t you plan to go in and have a look?"

"No!"

Carson responded without hesitation, "Curiosity killed the cat. Right now, I just want to go back safely. Let’s forget about adventures."

Pausing, Carson chuckled and said, "What, are you hoping I’ll go in there and get killed by the Spirit Devouring Beast inside? You want to avenge your sister by severing causality. If I die by someone else’s hand and not by yours, would that count as fulfilling it?"

Elsie’s demeanor grew colder, and she did not respond.

They continued their standoff until midnight when Elsie suddenly stood up silently and walked toward the palace.

Carson jolted awake immediately, watching Elsie approach in the night. He sprung to his feet.

"What are you doing?"

Elsie said coldly, "You dream of dragging this out until the realm closes and then leaving? Since you won’t go in, I’ll have to send you off."

Carson instantly tensed up, retreating backward, "This is the Forbidden Spirit Palace where Spiritual Energy can’t be used. No matter how strong you are, here you’re just an ordinary person..."

Elsie coldly replied, "I am not a human. I am a dragon. Even without Spiritual Energy, killing a human like you is nothing to me."

Shit!

Carson gasped. That’s right, she’s a True Dragon!

Even though she had transformed into human form, it didn’t change her essential nature as a dragon!

A human fighting a True Dragon in close combat?

Carson involuntarily recalled the scene in the cave where Bryant James, armed with the Black Greatsword that suppressed the True Dragon, chopped at the little girl, and she simply caught the blow with a casual motion of her hand transforming into a Dragon Claw.

Without being able to use Spiritual Energy, could Elsie still do that?

If she could still transform, then killing him with one swipe would be no problem at all.

Elsie walked onto White Jade Plaza at the entrance of the palace, advancing step by step towards Carson.

Carson backed away step by step, eventually retreating to the doorway of the palace.

"Are you trying to force me inside?"

Elsie nodded, "You can choose not to go in."

Ultimately, Carson didn’t dare to physically fight a True Dragon. Although his body was tough with Sword Bones, she was a genuine dragon, and an Immortal True Dragon at that!

Carson gritted his teeth and backed through the great doors of the palace.

Elsie stopped at the doorway.

By then, Carson was already inside the great hall. The walls of the hall were adorned with countless Luminous Pearls, emitting a faint light that illuminated the entire place.

Dead silence!

Carson dared not venture deeper, or even make a sound, for fear of disturbing some terrible presence.

"Ao!"

Standing at the doorway, Elsie suddenly let out a low dragon’s roar toward the door.

The massive sound instantly echoed throughout the palace, startling Carson, who then quickly recovered and cursed, "You nasty woman, are you trying to set me up?"

After roaring, Elsie quickly moved away from the door. Clearly, she had intentionally disturbed the terrifying presence inside, intending for it to emerge and kill Carson.

Carson was shaken by the dragon’s roar, grateful that Elsie couldn’t use her Spiritual Energy; otherwise, the roar alone might have severely injured him.

Carson remained on guard, looking around. Suddenly, something fell to the ground behind him.

The sound was gentle.

But to Carson, that slight noise was like thunder.

Carson swiftly turned around.
