The waters of the Underground Dark River surged turbulently, pitch-dark and void of light, as Carson Flores held tightly onto Samantha Tate, letting the current carry them further downward.

Samantha Tate had always been somewhat afraid of the dark, but with Carson Flores holding her like this, her heart was strangely calm, and she even felt a bit of joy for the life that had escaped disaster.

It had been quite a while, and the Crimson Dragon King hadn’t caught up; he must have given up, right?

Carson Flores was too strong!

As Carson Flores held Samantha Tate, he swam upward and then they burst through the water’s surface.

There was no sun in the sky, but the light was sufficient and bright, and the surrounding scenery was beautiful, with lush trees indicating they were in the middle of a vast lake.

Carson Flores carried Samantha Tate and flew up, soaring over the lake before landing on the nearby grass.

"Let’s change our clothes first, have something to eat, rest a bit, and then explore this place," he suggested.

"All right!" she agreed.

Samantha Tate’s clothes were completely soaked, clinging tightly to her body, prompting Carson Flores to take a few more glances than necessary.

Why wouldn’t he look at his own woman?

Feeling Carson Flores’s gaze, the corners of Samantha Tate’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up slightly.

Being admired by the man she liked this way surely meant she was beautiful and charming, right?

Samantha Tate stepped behind a clump of trees, peeked out her head, and teased, "Brother, if you want to look, just come here and do it."

Carson Flores’s face turned slightly red, and he waved his hands dismissively, "Quickly change. Keep teasing me, and I might have to spank you."

With a giggling reply, Samantha Tate said, "If it’s brother, I don’t mind at all."

Carson Flores was speechless. When a woman started flirting outrageously, men were simply outmatched.

After changing their clothes and sharing a meal together, Samantha Tate finally had time to express her astonishment.

"Brother, you were incredible just now. I thought we were done for. I felt so guilty for dragging you into this mess," she said.

Carson Flores gave a wry smile, "It was just luck. Without this complex underground river, we would have had no chance of escaping. After all, the Crimson Dragon King is probably one of the most powerful beings in this world. He could take down the Supreme Elders of three top sects with his own strength. That’s not something just anyone can do."

Samantha Tate’s eyes turned to the lake, "The water of this lake seems to be still..."

Carson Flores replied casually, "The Underground Dark River has many branches. We may have just entered one of the tributaries. The main river doesn’t flow into this place. This lake is only connected to the dark river but isn’t the downstream of the main river."

An epiphany struck Samantha Tate, "So, we are lucky to have been washed into this branch. Otherwise, we would still be in the pitch-black darkness of the Underground Dark River?"

"Yes."

Carson Flores surveyed the surroundings, "We are indeed lucky, but this place is too quiet. It seems abnormal; we might not be out of danger yet."

"Quiet?"

Samantha Tate paused and observed her surroundings for a long moment, her expression turning to surprise, "That’s true, it’s too quiet here. There are no signs of life, and even the air lacks any trace of wind. Where have we ended up?"

Carson Flores looked up at the sky, "Let’s explore. In any case, this is better than staying in a sunless underground river."

After resting for a while, they took to the sky and were surprised to find that there was an invisible barrier sealing off this space.

Carson Flores’s expression turned serious, "This place must be similar to a Secret Realm; if we don’t find the right way out, we may not be able to leave."

"Brother, look over there!"

Following Samantha Tate’s pointed direction, Carson Flores looked toward the distant mountain, where an architectural structure stood; it was so far away that it was hardly visible without close inspection.

They advanced and finally reached the tallest peak.

There, a solitary, huge palace stood on the mountaintop, built as if from gold. At least a kilometer high, the palace was resplendent and majestic.

In front of the entrance was a Stele at least a hundred meters tall with four enormous characters etched into it.

The characters, strong and imposing, seemed as though they might burst forth from the stone.
