Chapter 798: Chapter 798: Will you help me kill him, please?_1
Lainey Dragon’s move was fierce and venomous, showing no mercy whatsoever.
Just as the Ice Blade was about to strike Kash Lam’s neck, clarity suddenly returned to Kash’s eyes, and his body instantly ignited in golden flames.
The approaching Ice Blade made contact with the golden flames and instantly vaporized, leaving only the hilt grazing Kash’s neck and drawing a trail of Blood Beads.
Golden flames swept forward, hurling towards Lainey Dragon.
Lainey’s body light as a feather, instantly retreated backwards, while a massive ice shield appeared in front of her.
The flames struck the ice shield, instantly melting a large portion of it into white mist. Then it burst through the shield, continuing its assault on Lainey.
Lainey’s complexion changed slightly as a water-blue barrier surged around her, like a churning sea wave, managing to block the flames. Even so, Lainey was sent flying back onto the stage, her face a shade paler.
Kash touched his neck, unfazed by the blood, and burst into laughter, "Long time no see, your Sky Demon Dance has indeed gotten more powerful, but pity, it still can’t take down this lord."
A glint of cold light flashed in Lainey’s eyes, followed by a charming smile, "This man is so annoying. Will you help me kill him, please?"
"Yes!"
In an instant, several figures sprang up beside them, lunging at Kash and attacking with lethal moves right from the start.
Kash’s expression changed. With a wave of his hand, flames surged like a torrent, instantly knocking back the few approaching him; however, he did not kill them, knowing they were all enthralled and controlled by Lainey.
More and more people in the hall stood up, their eyes fierce as they pounced towards Kash. In an instant, the hall was filled with the flashing of blades and swords, and the air was thick with murderous intent.
"Damn it, fight me one-on-one if you dare!"
Lainey spoke softly, "I’m just a weak girl, how could I possibly beat you? Instead, I have to ask for their help, and I’m sure they wouldn’t refuse me, right?"
"Right! We will definitely help you!"
"If he bullies you, we’ll stand by you!"
An unknowable number of infatuated eyes bore down on Kash as they rushed forward. Kash, wary of harming these innocents, couldn’t bring himself to kill them and let out a weird shout, "You’re ruthlessly cunning! I’m out of here. Next time I catch you alone, I’ll beat you to death... Get out of my way!"
With Kash’s bellow, an incredibly fierce Fire Dragon spread its wings, flying out and repelling all who approached, and he took that gap to break free from the hall.
"You wretched woman, just you wait!"
Kash’s voice quickly faded, clearly indicating his escape, for with the Sky Demon Dance, these people had all become her accomplices, innocent and unoffending. Kash wasn’t about to kill them all.
Unable to kill, or awaken them, his only option was to flee.
The hall was in chaos, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
Carson Flores had just grabbed Marcellus Foster, knocking him out with a palm strike to the neck to prevent him from being part of the commotion. As the chaos came to an end, Carson was ready to leave with him, but his hand suddenly paused.
A bewitching face slowly rose from beyond the railing, smiling at Carson, curiosity twinkling in her slitted eyes.
"Who are you? And how come you can resist my Sky Demon Dance?"
Carson felt like prey locked in a hunter’s sights, his heart involuntarily bristling, his gaze subconsciously searching for the man in green, only to be startled by the man’s absence.
Goosebumps sprung up on Carson’s back.
Was this guy human or ghost? When had he left without Carson noticing?
Lainey sat leisurely across from Carson, her eyes brimming with curiosity as she observed him.
Carson chuckled awkwardly, "I can’t resist it either. My mind is all about you, I just quickly thought of my wife, and then I somehow felt better."
A slight stiffness touched Lainey’s smile. Just like that?
Thinking of a wife could resist her Sky Demon Dance?
When had her Sky Demon Dance fallen to such a sorrowful state?
True love?
Or was this man uniquely gifted?
"I am Lainey Dragon, Saintess of the Huayue Sect. What’s your name, and where do you come from?"
Carson was forthright, "Carson Flores, from Nutwood Mountain."
Lainey blinked, "What’s your strength?"
Carson answered honestly as ever, "Golden Core Late Stage."
Lainey’s eyes held a subtle look, "To think I cannot even capture someone at the Golden Core Late Stage, what a failure. Alright then, Carson Flores, we shall meet again."
Lainey stood up, her figure fading away like an illusion from Carson’s sight.
Carson raised his head to ask, "What about my friend afflicted by your Sky Demon Dance? What should I do?"
Lainey’s crisp laughter reached Carson’s ears, "He’ll be fine once he wakes up; just think of it as a nice dream."
A nice dream?
One that’s perhaps better not dreamt at all.
