Chapter 624: Chapter 624 Who Are You Swearing At By Pointing to the Mulberry Tree and Cursing the Locust Tree?_1

Nikolai Jimenez and Emilio Compton’s gazes simultaneously fell on Elise Parry, Nikolai’s filled with subtlety, Emilio’s was furious.

"Didn’t we agree to report back to the Sect first?"

"To think they sent someone to assassinate in secret!"

"It was just that they weren’t successful. If they had been, Carson Flores would have been killed without a trace, and the Water-Fire Mirror would have ended up in Elise Parry’s hands, to be taken directly to the Spiritual Ruin Blessed Land—who would have known?"

"Here I am, foolishly kidnapping, waiting for someone while Elise Parry feigns innocence by my side, putting on an act, reveling at my plight."

Just the thought was enough to infuriate anyone!

If it weren’t for her failure, if it weren’t for my current need for their help, Emilio Compton would have wanted to turn against them right now.

Upon further thought, although she had orchestrated this in secret, she hadn’t succeeded. With that in mind, Emilio suddenly felt less angry.

Elise Parry looked slightly awkward, as she reached up to smooth down a few strands of her hair. Calming her emotions, her eyes locked onto Carson Flores, "Did you kill them?"

Carson shook his head, "I gave them a beating, but didn’t kill anyone. Miss Parry, it was Emilio Compton who captured the Frost Family Members. There’s bound to be a life-and-death struggle between him and me, and I hope you won’t interfere again. This matter doesn’t concern you, so why not just watch the drama unfold to the end?"

Nikolai Jimenez said with a cold laugh, "But we want the Water-Fire Mirror too."

Carson turned to Nikolai and spoke lightly, "Do you think that if I dared to kill Emilio Compton today, I would care about killing one or two more? If you want it, you’ll have to see if you have the strength. As soon as you make a move today, it’s either you kill me, or I kill you. Are you prepared to die here?"

Nikolai’s expression changed slightly; Carson’s words were filled with an undisguised threat.

If you dare make a move, I’ll kill you!

If I dare kill Emilio Compton, I wouldn’t care about killing one more Nikolai Jimenez, one more Elise Parry!

What difference does it make offending one Eastern Peak Sanctuary of the Sacred Mountain, or two more?

Nikolai scoffed, "You make a good point. Sister Parry, what do you say?"

Elise stared into Carson’s calm and fearless eyes, and thought about his ruthless killing of the Hoffman Family Members earlier, feeling suddenly hesitant.

The Water-Fire Mirror indeed has a significant history; the Cultivator known as the True Man of Water and Fire, dominated the Cultivation Realm with this very mirror. However, after clashing with a powerful being, the Water-Fire Mirror was damaged, and the True Man of Water and Fire was seriously injured and fled to the mortal world to escape pursuit, only to die here eventually.

If the Water-Fire Mirror were in perfect condition, it would definitely be worth a desperate fight, but no one knows how much power it still possesses now. It doesn’t seem worthwhile to gamble one’s life for a damaged Water-Fire Mirror.

Moreover, the series of events that unfolded today took everyone by surprise, and Carson caught all by surprise.

If Emilio had known he would face such a formidable opponent, he would have prepared more, such as bringing a magical treasure. Today he wouldn’t have lost so miserably, but who would have expected such a fearsome and fearless youth to emerge in the mortal world, daring to defy the cultivators of the Blessed Land of Cave Heavens?

Looking at Nikolai, it seemed like he came prepared.

Elise hesitated for a moment, then suddenly stepped back, "Since you spared my two junior brothers, I’ll opt out of this matter. But let me be clear, today I only speak for myself. Any future complications are not my concern."

Carson smiled faintly, "Understood."

Seeing Elise withdraw cleanly, Nikolai appeared slightly surprised, "Sister Parry, are you giving up?"

Elise gestured invitingly, "Yes, I’ll watch the show. Please, go ahead."

Nikolai confirmed again, "You mean, if I kill him, the Water-Fire Mirror is mine?"

"That’s right."

Elise smirked, "He is very strong, and I’m not sure I can kill him. To risk my life for a damaged mirror whose power is uncertain does not seem sensible to me, so... the stage is yours."

Nikolai smiled, "Well then, since you all put it that way, I’ll give it a try."

Carson observed their exchange quietly, without urgency or agitation, his expression serene.

Nikolai extended his hand, and a small silver hammer appeared, which looked exceptionally miniaturized and adorned with various intricate patterns, exuding an ancient and profound aura.

Elise’s expression changed, "The Mountain Shaking Hammer!"

Nikolai grinned faintly, "I’m a cautious man. The spiritual energy in this mortal realm is sparse, many techniques are unavailable, so I need a gadget for self-defense. Otherwise, as a Cultivator, if I were to be killed by a Cultivator from the mortal world, wouldn’t that be a grave injustice?"

Elise’s expression was subtle, and she did not speak; however, Emilio’s face suddenly flushed red, his eyes glowing with anger.

Stop talking nonsense and just fight!

Whom are you insinuating at?

Do you think I’m deaf and can’t hear you?

I was just unprepared this time; otherwise, you think the Eastern Peak Sanctuary of the Sacred Mountain is inferior to your Northern Peak Sanctuary of the Great Mountain, that you can borrow magical treasures and I can’t?
