Chapter 396: Chapter 396 Should I Be Happy or Sad?_1

Carson Flores burst into laughter.

"Whose command are you following?"

Camille Rhodes looped her arm through Carson’s, pouted, and said, "My dad’s, who else? Who told you to be so fierce? You alone managed to knock down Divine Cloudy Sect without a scratch on you, right?"

Carson mocked, "What, did he send you to pick me up so he could invite me to dinner?"

Camille laughed, "He did think about it, but ultimately he didn’t have the nerve. When you clashed with Divine Cloudy Sect, my dad chose to keep his distance from you, just watching from the sidelines. Now he regrets it, missing the chance to be there for you in your hour of need, so all he can do now is make amends and send his daughter to suck up to you."

"Really?"

Carson laughed, "Even if I were a Great Grandmaster, would he really need to do that? The Rhodes family is the richest in Seashore, after all."

Camille laughed, "Richest is just an official title. When it comes to wealth, there are plenty in Seashore Province richer than the Rhodes family. Take for instance the three sects and four families, each more formidable than the Rhodes. And Divine Cloudy Sect, which you clashed with, who knows how many industries they monopolize in Divine Cloud City and how far their influence extends..."

When Carson reached the car, he tossed his bag into the trunk and chuckled, "Your dad’s approach isn’t necessarily wrong. After all, as a single person, not even an Innate Grandmaster, how could I possibly fight Divine Cloudy Sect? Staying away from me was the sensible thing to do."

Camille laughed, "However, this time the Martinez Family, Fitzgerald Family, and Johnston Family all stood by your side. Although it wasn’t exactly help, they at least made their stance clear. My dad is worried you’ll hold a grudge against them and take it out on the Rhodes, so he rushed to push me forward as a shield. Should I be happy or sad about that?"

Carson said with a chuckle, "I’d be more likely stuffed from eating too much, and the Rhodes didn’t offend me, so why would I target them? He worries too much; it’s unnecessary."

Camille got into the car and just stared at Carson’s profile, her eyes bright as if admiring a work of art.

"What are you doing looking at me like that? Haven’t you seen me before?"

Camille smiled, "Looking at a handsome guy, I just regret I didn’t get to see you in action, swaggering around. The way my brother described it was so domineering, making an Innate Grandmaster kneel and apologize..."

Carson laughed, "I just saw through her illness and took advantage of the situation. If she hadn’t been sick, if I had been so arrogant, I probably would have been killed on the spot."

Camille asked curiously, "Is there a big difference between a Grandmaster and an Innate Grandmaster?"

Carson nodded, "A huge one. Rocky Stein had health issues and couldn’t fight at full strength, yet even her lightest attacks could make me vomit blood. Had she been well and fighting at full power, I suspect I wouldn’t have been able to withstand a single move."

Camille sighed, "It seems a single realm difference means completely incomparable strength. No wonder, with Nash Acevedo, a Great Grandmaster, the Acevedo Family could do as they pleased in Seashore, and Divine Cloudy Sect is so domineering because they have more than one Innate Grandmaster."

Carson laughed, "Now the Acevedo Family is without a Great Grandmaster, so the other families don’t have to feel pressured by them anymore, right?"

Camille nodded, "For the other families in Seashore, it’s definitely good news. Everyone should thank you."

Carson smiled casually, "I dealt with Nash Acevedo simply because I wanted to, it has nothing to do with others, and whether they thank me or not isn’t important."

The car made its way to the Miller Family Villa. After taking back the villa, Carson and Shirley Miller moved out of the hotel and in here.

After Shirley left, Carson lived there alone. However, without anyone else at home, he didn’t cook, just slept there, and took care of meals outside.

"You and Mary moved back here, do you still sleep separately?"

Carson glanced at Camille, "Are you always this nosy?"

Camille said with a smile, "I’m just concerned about you. After all, little Mary is waiting for you, too. To be honest, I’m quite curious about the outcome between the three of you."

Carson laughed, "Mary and I, well, we haven’t crossed the line."

Camille pursed her lips and giggled, "That’s easy to guess. If you had slept with Mary, we probably wouldn’t have this awkward situation now."

Carson was about to reply when his phone suddenly rang.

Batman.

He signaled to Camille with his phone and then walked aside to answer the call.

"What’s up?"

Batman laughed mischievously, "Boss, Oscar Miller is indeed at the Reids’, and boss, do you want to guess what he did to make the Reids’ accept him?"

Carson breathed a sigh of relief, as long as he’s there!

Carson wasn’t afraid of Oscar leaning on powerful families; he was afraid the man would hide and take revenge on his loved ones in secret.

"What did he do? Pretended to get adopted?"

Batman laughed out loud, "It wasn’t about getting adopted; he literally got a new dad and mom."

Carson, puzzled, asked, "What do you mean?"

Batman couldn’t contain his joy, "To get the Reids’ on his side, the lad actually married Kaylee Reid, the Reid’s eldest daughter. You know, she weighs a good two hundred pounds..."
