Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Two Paths? I Choose the Third Path_1
"Has the money delivery arrived?"
Carson Flores walked up to Harper Miller, seemingly completely clueless about the situation, and spoke in a relaxed and casual tone, "Isn’t this a trifle that could be settled by just transferring some money? Is it really necessary for someone to make a special trip?"
Harper Miller sneered without saying a word, but the look she gave Carson Flores was as if she were staring at a dead man.
"I’m Rodney Compton, Mr. Miller received the call from Miss Miller, and he sent me here to deal with this."
Carson Flores fixed his gaze on Rodney Compton, "Not a Miller? You’re not part of the Miller Family?"
Rodney Compton replied, "I am Mr. Miller’s driver and bodyguard."
Carson Flores pressed on, "Which Mr. Miller?"
Rodney Compton’s tone remained calm and steady, "Mr. Barrett Miller."
"Never heard of him, don’t know him."
Carson Flores randomly retorted with a smile, "So, what’s your plan for dealing with this?"
Rodney Compton smiled, "Let’s talk outside."
Carson Flores nodded, "Fine, wherever we talk, just so you know, not a penny less for today’s money."
Rodney Compton’s gaze held a subtle edge, but his smile was unchanged, "The issue will always be resolved satisfactorily."
Samantha Tate looked at Carson Flores’ nonchalant demeanor and quickly lowered her head, but she couldn’t help the corners of her mouth from curving upwards.
She nearly lost it!
Carson Flores was putting on an act again, pretending to be a pig to eat a tiger!
It was clear that Rodney Compton had bad intentions, not planning to pay, and was preparing to use physical force against Carson Flores, yet Carson showed no fear, seemingly willing to turn the tables, and Samantha was already looking forward to the scene that would unfold.
She had found that life with Carson Flores was always filled with thrilling events!
The group exited through the side door of the arena and arrived at the back fire escape. Rodney Compton looked around and appeared quite satisfied with the location.
He planned to take care of Carson Flores here and resolve the matter.
Turning his head to Carson Flores, Rodney Compton said, "Before I came, Mr. Miller had mentioned two possible solutions. Would you like to hear them?"
Carson Flores smiled, "Let’s hear them. Why do I get the feeling that you’re not planning on paying?"
Rodney Compton’s gaze was mocking as he stared at Carson Flores. Was this man an idiot?
At this point, he’s still thinking about the money?
Rodney Compton icily said, "The first solution is that Miss Miller gives you two hundred thousand to settle this amicably, and we act as if the twenty million incident never happened. You can take the two hundred thousand and spend it happily, and no one will bother you."
"Two hundred thousand?"
Carson Flores sneered, "Just a moment ago Miss Miller was talking about two million and I didn’t agree, and now it’s shrunk tenfold. You guys are really too greedy."
Rodney Compton’s eyes narrowed slightly, "The second solution is that I help you forget everything about today. Of course, you might also forget all past matters, as I’m not very good at controlling my power when I make a move."
Carson Flores laughed, "So, you mean to turn me into an idiot? Is this how the Miller Family does business, demanding payment after a loss? If they lose a bet, they won’t pay up and resort to violence instead? If I don’t agree, you’ll beat me until I do, and if I still don’t agree, then you’ll just get rid of me?"
Harper Miller sneered, "I’ve already warned you to be careful. You might make money but not live to spend it. But you’re too greedy, overstepping your bounds. Not even content with two million, so now it’s either two hundred thousand or becoming an idiot, choose for yourself."
Carson Flores smiled, "I’ll take a third option, nineteen million five hundred thousand. Not a penny more, not a penny less."
Rodney Compton looked at Carson Flores’ smiling face, his gaze turning sharp. With everything out in the open, Carson Flores was still unyielding, showing no sign of backing down. This meant that either Carson Flores favored money over his life, or he had some sort of confidence.
"Friend, if you have any clout, we can talk openly and aboveboard. There’s no need to hide it. Otherwise, if you get hurt, it’ll be too late to speak up."
Harper Miller impatiently urged, "He’s just a security guard; what clout could he possibly have? He’s probably just learned some fighting skills and thinks he can fight, that’s why he’s so arrogant. Uncle Zhou, knock him down first, and this woman too. She was rude to me just now. I want to slap her and turn her face into a pig’s head, to vent the anger in my heart."
Carson Flores’ eyes grew colder, "You want to hit my girlfriend?"
Harper Miller arrogantly retorted, "Hitting you is to teach you a lesson, to show you can’t be too greedy and lack foresight. Hitting her is to let her know that there are some people in the world she can’t afford to provoke. Remember to wear glasses when you go out!"
Rodney Compton stepped forward, pressuring Carson Flores, "Since you’d rather die than give up the money, I’m sorry then."
Rodney Compton reached out towards Carson Flores, who quickly countered, as fast as lightning.
Rodney Compton’s pupils contracted sharply, trying to change his move quickly, but he still couldn’t escape Carson Flores’ grip. Carson caught his wrist and yanked him to the side, causing Rodney Compton to instantly lose his balance, his body tilting to one side.
Carson Flores stepped forward, delivering a simple and brutal shoulder bump, crashing into Rodney Compton instantaneously.
Rodney Compton immediately felt as if he had been hit by a train, his body flying sideways and smashing against the wall before bouncing back with a thud. While still in the air, blood sprayed from his mouth.
