Chapter 254: Chapter 254: Aren’t You My Man, Won’t You Help Me?_1

"You know about racing?"

Camille Rhodes turned her head, her eyes somewhat curious.

Carson Flores smiled and said, "A little."

Camille’s eyes immediately lit up, "How do you compare to them?"

Carson shook his head, "I probably can’t beat them; both of them are Cultivators, their control over the vehicles is already at the limit. There are very few who can beat them steadily."

I probably can’t beat them?

Camille looked at Carson with a surprised gaze. Did he mean that he could fight, but the outcome wasn’t certain, and while he was likely to lose, there was a small chance he could win?

"You really are full of surprises. So knowledgeable even in this area. Tell me, what else are you good at?"

Carson laughed and said, "What’s there to hide? In the city, you’re often stuck in traffic, can’t even hit sixty miles an hour. Besides, safety comes first. Why race for no reason when living a good life is what matters?"

Camille asked, "Could you tell that Iker Combs was holding back?"

Carson nodded, "At that last turn, his movement was slower for just an instant. This slight difference might not be obvious but for an expert, it’s enough. After all, the realization at the end was just about half a car’s length. For a high-speed sports car, a half-car length’s time difference is negligible..."

Camille’s gaze swept over the crowd that was either looking dejected or cursing loudly, and said with a smile, "I wonder how many people are going to be suffering tonight."

Kylan Martinez and Iker Combs’s cars returned. Kylan entered the parking lot, while Iker didn’t stop at all and disappeared into the end of the lane.

Kylan got out of the car, smiled, and waved at everyone, bringing forth a round of cheers, very much fitting of a leader.

Legacy Lozano’s expression didn’t look too good. He shook hands with Kylan and then also turned and left.

"The show is over. Can we go now?"

Camille was about to nod when Kylie Martinez walked over with Wayne Singleton’s arm in hers: "Camille, what did I tell you? On this road, my brother is unbeatable."

Camille smiled lightly, "That’s why I didn’t bet with you. Congratulate your brother for me, fame and fortune both— I’ll be going now."

Although she guessed it was all a show, faced with Kylie’s smug provocation, Camille didn’t mention it at all. Naturally, if this were exposed at the scene, Kylan would inevitably lose face and then begin to hate her, turning her into an enemy.

A smart woman like Camille wouldn’t stir up trouble that didn’t benefit her in the slightest, right?

Kylie laughed, "Don’t leave. We didn’t bet earlier, but now it’s free time. I’m planning to let Wayne have a race. Why don’t you find a driver, and we can bet on them?"

Camille blinked and glanced at Carson beside her, then suddenly smiled, "How dull to find someone else. Wayne is your boyfriend, Carson is my friend, and also my companion for today. Why don’t we let Carson and Wayne have a go?"

Carson, not expecting Camille to drag him into this, interrupted with a laugh, "Don’t pick me, I’m not racing!"

Kylie’s eyes widened in surprise, "Carson can race?"

Camille said with a smile, "It’s just driving a bit faster, nothing so amazing."

Kylie laughed heartily, "Sure, as long as Carson is up for it, I’ll bet with you. You set the stakes; I’ll take any."

Camille pressed her lips together and chuckled, "Excuse me for a moment."

Having said that, Camille took Carson’s arm and forcefully pulled him to the side without a word, just looking at him with big, pleading eyes.

Carson scolded with a smile, "Don’t pull that on me. I’m cold-hearted and merciless."

Camille took Carson’s arm and pressed it against her, leaning into Carson, "Just help me out, okay? She’s been looking down on me, picking on me time and time again. If I don’t respond, it’ll be so embarrassing. You know, people like us value face a lot. If you lose too much, you can’t even raise your head, and you have to avoid them in the future..."

Carson didn’t respond, "That’s between you and her, a struggle between two wealthy daughters. What’s it got to do with a little security guard like me?"

Camille’s eyes were like ripples in water as she pulled Carson’s arm closer into her embrace, pressing her body even tighter against him, "You’re my man, I’m your woman. Won’t you help me when you see me being bullied?"

Carson was somewhat speechless, "Can the situation really be described like that?"

Camille huffed, "Why can’t it? We’ve been intimate more than once. You claim there was some drug effect before, and you could play dumb, but later on, when you were sober, you didn’t refuse either."

Seeing Carson still unfazed, Camille brought out her trump card, "I was actually planning to go see Shirley Miller in the next couple of days and expose our affair. You help me this time, and I won’t go looking for her. How about that?"

Carson stared at Camille, laughing, "What are you trying to do, break us up? How does that benefit you?"

Camille snorted, "You’ve taken so much advantage of me; I can’t stand it. And it’s not like I’m lying or framing you!"

Carson was left without a response, since Camille was stating the truth.

Indeed, she hadn’t falsely accused him; he had no way to deny it.

Carson looked at Camille sideways, "If I help you win this one, you’ll never speak of this again?"
