Chapter 151: Chapter 151 The Brothers Seek Wealth, Not Lives_1

"Brother, I have some money here, why don’t you take it to tide you over?"

"Spare me the crap! Drive!"

"Okay, don’t rush, I’m starting the car right now!"

Carson Flores fired up the car and flashed a reassuring smile to Mary Jimenez beside him.

Mary Jimenez’s face was somewhat pale. She gritted her teeth and asked, "Are they here for me?"

The gunman sneered, "Enough talk. You’ll find out soon enough."

Another man pulled out a dagger and waved it at Mary Jimenez, "Shut up, or I’ll slash your face!"

Carson Flores drove to catch up with the van in front while shaking his head at Mary Jimenez, signaling her not to aggravate their captors further.

The space in the car was cramped. The kidnappers were in the back seat, armed with guns and knives. Carson was confident he could handle them if they were in the front, but he wasn’t sure he could do so without harming Mary Jimenez.

The car raced after the van, quickly leaving the main road and heading towards a desolate area.

Half an hour later, the car emerged from a mountain trail and continued along a fork in the road before entering the courtyard of a three-story building.

"Get out!"

With guns pointed at them, Carson Flores and Mary Jimenez got out of the car, and their phones and bags were taken away.

"Walk!"

Carson swept the area: five men, two shotguns, two knives. The leader carried no visible weapon, but his movements were agile, and exposed muscles revealed his power.

This guy was a martial artist, maybe even a Cultivator.

Carson held off on making a move. He also wanted to understand exactly who these people were and why they were taking action.

Before acting, he needed to ensure Mary Jimenez’s safety was absolutely secure.

Inside the building, the leader smiled at them, "Don’t be afraid. Just do as I say, and you’ll be fine. We’re only after money, not lives."

Carson asked, "What do you want?"

The man smiled, "A share in the Miller Group. Don’t worry, we’ll buy it. We’re not asking for a freebie."

Mary Jimenez’s face went paler, confirming it was indeed about her.

"Are you with Oscar Miller?"

The man hesitated briefly then laughed, "What Oscar Miller, or Jace Miller, I’ve never heard of them. I’ve been a thug for too long and now I’m trying out the taste of being a boss. I’ve saved some money over the years and I’m going to use it to buy Ms. Miller’s shares."

Carson looked at the man’s expression, slightly surprised. Not Oscar Miller?

Could it be Oscar Miller has found another executor?

According to what Mary had said earlier, there was an agreement between Parker Miller and the Miller Family; Oscar Miller wasn’t allowed to harm Mary Jimenez. That’s why Oscar had sought out Brian James and the Woolery Family. Now, with Brian James’s father dead and the Woolery Family crippled by him, could it be that Oscar has found another pawn?

Mary Jimenez asked, "You want to buy my shares, so how much are you offering?"

The man chuckled, "Twenty million. How about it? It’s a lot of money. Sell your shares, take the twenty million, and you’ll be able to live a wealthy life forever."

Mary Jimenez angrily said, "Twenty million, why don’t you just rob me?"

The man laughed out loud, "Not giving you a penny, that would be robbery. But see, I’m a businessman. If we can come to an agreement, that would be great. If we can’t, well, then I can still rob you."

Carson pulled Mary behind him, smiling, "Your strong-arm tactics won’t follow normal procedures, right? For share transactions, doesn’t the person have to be present?"

The man laughed, "That’s none of your concern. The contract is ready. Ms. Miller, as soon as you sign and thumbprint, the twenty million will be transferred right away. Then you can take the money and go anywhere in the world. If you’re not willing, no worries. We have plenty of time to persuade you."

Persuade?

Mary knew all too well the sort of methods these bastards would use on her. She bit her lip and said, "Fine, bring me the contract. I’ll sign, but you must guarantee that after I sign, you’ll let both of us leave."

The man chuckled, "Like I said, I’m after money, not lives. Once you sign and the contract procedure is complete, I’ll naturally let you go."

The process can be completed just with a signature?

No need for the person to be present?

Not afraid of the person reneging later?

It seemed that the man had significant backing; otherwise, it would be impossible to complete the transaction through this kind of operation following normal procedures.

Carson and Mary were out for a meal today; how did these people follow them?

Santino Vasquez?

Boston Browning?

Carson’s eyes narrowed as he recalled Boston Browning’s surprise upon seeing Mary Jimenez and hearing the introduction of Carson as Mary’s husband.

Monopolizing telecommunications business, Browning Corporation?

Browning?

The Browning Family, one of Polgel’s top three Cultivator families?

While Carson was contemplating, one of the underlings had already brought out the contract that had been prepared in advance, placing it in front of Mary Jimenez.

Mary Jimenez, teeth gritted, quickly signed her name on the document.
