Chapter 1463: Chapter 1463: Do You Also Want to Take Advantage of the Crisis?
"The elixir formula?"
Carson Flores immediately thought of the invaluable Nine Revolutions Great Land Pill Formula.
"That’s certainly possible, but I advise you to keep your mouth shut and tell no one you know of this formula. Otherwise, you’ll be entangled in endless trouble, perhaps even face certain death."
Selah Ellison Fairy warned, "Advancing to the Great Land requires the Nine Revolutions Great Land Pill, but not everyone is destined to obtain it or the formula. Do you understand?"
Carson Flores was taken aback, etching her warning into his memory.
Selah Ellison Fairy’s voice remained cold, "Those who know of the Nine Revolutions Great Land Pill Formula are not non-existent, but no one speaks of it openly. First, it invites trouble. Second, the immortal elixirs needed for the formula are extremely rare. If the formula is exposed and widely known, gathering these elixirs becomes an insurmountable challenge."
Carson Flores expressed his sincere gratitude, "Thank you for the warning, Fairy!"
Selah Ellison Fairy replied calmly, "I’m warning you only because I don’t want you to bring me trouble. Understand this—those capable of obtaining the Nine Revolutions Great Land Pill are no less powerful than I am."
"The formula must not be leaked, but the Primitive Pill Scripture can be used as a bargaining chip. Even if an accident occurs and it’s leaked, it won’t cause much trouble."
Carson Flores smiled, "Fairy, I’ll let you decide on my behalf."
"First, to the Valley of Myriad Medicines."
"Understood!"
Carson Flores followed Selah Ellison Fairy onto the road with ease. During a rest in the city, Carson had already hired someone to relay a message to Lance Matthews about the birthday celebration incident and the apprentice he had taken in, assuring him there was no need for concern as he was currently traveling.
...
Valley of Myriad Medicines.
"Who goes there? State your name!"
As they arrived at the valley’s entrance, a row of disciples guarding the valley appeared before them, their expressions tense as they questioned, faces full of vigilance.
Carson Flores turned to look at Selah Ellison Fairy, but she remained silent. She slightly motioned with her chin, signaling him to take charge.
Me, take charge?
Carson Flores found it odd but maintained his composure. He cupped his hands politely, "From the White Crane Immortal Sect, Heavenly Sword Peak’s Master, Carson Flores. This is my friend, Selah Ellison Fairy..."
Carson had speculated on Selah Ellison Fairy’s identity but had no concrete conclusions. Now, he had no choice but to introduce her as a friend.
The White Crane Immortal Sect had a considerable reputation across the Skyland Continent. After their report, the disciples of the Valley of Myriad Medicines visibly began to relax.
"Daoist Flores, what brings you here?"
Seeing that Selah Ellison Fairy still showed no sign of speaking up, Carson replied, "I’ve long heard of the boundless collection of immortal elixirs in the Valley of Myriad Medicines. I wish to practice alchemy but am short on a few materials, so I’ve come to pay my respects and see if I might purchase what I need."
The disciples’ tension fully dissipated as one of them gestured to welcome them, "Both of you, this way please."
Carson Flores stepped forward, followed by Selah Ellison Fairy, who still said nothing.
What is Selah Ellison Fairy up to?
Passing through the barrier at the valley’s entrance, the view suddenly opened up. Exotic flowers bloomed everywhere, and the air carried a refreshing fragrance that lifted the spirit.
The two were led into a guesthouse. After a maiden served them tea, it wasn’t long before a middle-aged man strode into the room.
"I am Gideon Campbell, the senior disciple of the Valley of Myriad Medicines’ master..."
Carson rose to introduce himself again, exchanging pleasantries before steering the conversation to the matter at hand.
"Daoist Flores, I hear you are seeking to purchase some elixirs. What do you require?"
Carson replied, "The Green Lotus Fire Spring."
Gideon Campbell’s face changed slightly, and his tone turned cold, "Daoist Flores, might you also be here to exploit our misfortune?"
Carson blinked, "Daoist Campbell, what do you mean by that?"
Gideon Campbell fixed Carson with a piercing gaze, "You don’t know?"
Carson shook his head, responding with a composed expression, "I heard the Valley of Myriad Medicines possessed the Green Lotus Fire Spring, so I came here hoping to purchase some. Why would you accuse me of exploiting you? By the way, I noticed the guards at the valley entrance seemed quite tense. Could it be something’s happened in the valley?"
Gideon Campbell scrutinized Carson for a few seconds before speaking, "You truly don’t know?"
Carson firmly replied, "I don’t know how I came to be misunderstood, but I’ve only just arrived from a long journey today and genuinely have no idea what’s going on."
Gideon Campbell observed Carson’s genuine expression and seemed to relax slightly. He sighed, "Daoist Flores, forgive me for the misunderstanding. It’s just an unfortunate coincidence. I thought you were with the Green Willow Sect..."
The Green Willow Sect?
The name rang a bell.
After a pause, Carson recalled interacting with the Green Willow Sect outside the Full Moon Illusionary Realm’s Heart Valley. The two Human Immortals from that sect had fought with him while entering the realm. In the chaos that followed, one of those Human Immortals had been slain—possibly by him.
A vendetta!
Carson responded, "I’ve killed members of the Green Willow Sect. How could I possibly be associated with them?"
Gideon Campbell asked with curiosity, "Why?"
Carson briefly explained his past enmity with the Green Willow Sect. After listening, a gleam appeared in Gideon Campbell’s eyes, "Daoist Flores, since you already have a grudge against the Green Willow Sect, might you be willing to assist the Valley of Myriad Medicines?"
Carson blinked, his face showing hesitation, "My conflict with the Green Willow Sect occurred during an exploration of a Secret Realm. Such conflicts are implicitly permitted within the rules. I’ve had no clashes with them elsewhere. I came here solely to purchase the Green Lotus Fire Spring. Why don’t you name a price?"
