"It’s already half past eleven, aren’t you tired?"

Carson Flores turned his head and smiled, "If you’re not going home, what else do you want to do?"

Samantha Tate asked with a smile, "Will you get into trouble if you don’t go home?"

Carson Flores shook his head, "No, but we’ve got to do something, right? Surely we’re not just going to sit on the street and catch the breeze?"

Samantha Tate said softly, "I just can’t bear to leave you. It’s been so many days, and I’ve only seen you once. How about we find a hotel and chat?"

After saying this, her face turned red, but she showed no sign of backing down.

Carson Flores looked into Samantha Tate’s eyes that were filled with shyness and anticipation. How could he not understand what Samantha Tate was thinking?

She was planning to make a move tonight and solidify their relationship as a couple.

Carson Flores reached out and playfully pinched Samantha Tate’s face, "If you want to chat, why don’t we find a place for a late-night snack? We can eat and talk. Why bother going to a hotel?"

Samantha Tate nodded, "Really. If it’s not convenient at your place, we can go back later."

He agreed!

Samantha Tate’s heart surged with surprise and anticipation, "Just nearby is the Longding Hotel, it’s the best hotel in the whole Polgel. I’ve heard about it many times, let’s go to Longding."

"Fine."

The two arrived at the Longding Hotel and were about to enter the lobby to check in when suddenly someone shouted from outside.

"Miss, don’t jump! If you’ve got something to say, come down and talk about it. There’s nothing we can’t get over!"

Carson Flores looked in the direction of the shouting and saw a man dressed in a security uniform looking up anxiously and yelling towards the top.

Carson Flores looked up, following the security guard’s gaze, and laid eyes on the balcony of a hotel room fourteen or fifteen stories high. A young woman, carelessly wrapped in a towel, her hair disheveled, stood on the outside of the balcony, looking as if she could fall at any moment.

"That woman is going to jump off the building!"

Samantha Tate also saw it, and she exclaimed in shock, her face full of concern.

The young woman stood on the outer edge of the balcony, shouting towards the room with a tone of utter despair, "Uriah Reid, I must have been blind to fall for you. Am I just an object you can trade at will in your eyes?"

"Uriah Reid?"

Samantha Tate’s face changed drastically, taking a closer look at the woman above. Upon a closer look, Samantha Tate panicked completely, "Wen Wen! Big brother, that’s Ye Wen!"

Carson Flores was also taken aback. Wasn’t Ye Wen picked up by her boyfriend and taken home?

Why was she in the hotel, and why on earth was she trying to jump off the building?

What on earth happened in between?

Samantha Tate yelled loudly, "Wen Wen, it’s dangerous! Go back inside, talk to me about it, I’ll come right up."

Ye Wen heard Samantha Tate’s shouting, looked down, and seeing Samantha Tate and Carson Flores standing below, felt even more ashamed of her disheveled state being seen by her good friend, which drove her emotions to a peak.

"Uriah Reid! Even if I die and become a ghost, I will not let you go!"

Ye Wen shouted, and right after, she let go of the railing. Her body, like a bird with broken wings, plummeted towards the ground below.

Damn it!

That was a decisively quick decision to jump!

Carson Flores cursed inwardly, but his feet were already bursting with force. The soles of his shoes made a violent friction against the ground, and his body turned into a blur as he rushed to where Ye Wen was about to fall.

Ye Wen fell straight down, and Carson Flores stepped hard on the hood of a car. The hood instantly caved in, but with the force of the step, he shot upwards towards the sky.

Carson Flores and Ye Wen met in mid-air. He grabbed her with one sweeping move, his arms tightly locking around her body.

The huge impact reduced Carson Flores’ upward momentum to zero in an instant, and then slammed him and Ye Wen hard towards the ground.

Carson Flores wasn’t panicked. He stretched out his body, channeled strength to his back, and hugged Ye Wen in his arms.

"Boom!"

Carson Flores’ back hit hard against the roof of the car, which caved in instantly, and he, holding Ye Wen, sank straight into the roof.

Carson Flores felt as if he had been hit by a speeding car, his chest and back in extreme pain.

Ye Wen, though protected by Carson Flores and the car’s roof significantly reducing the falling force, still suffered from the massive impact. A muffled grunt escaped her, and she passed out on the spot, blood oozing from her nose and mouth.

"Big brother!"

Samantha Tate screamed in terror, running over. She had never imagined Carson Flores would actually rush to save someone, literally leaping to the rescue with his bare hands!

Hadn’t there been enough news about people jumping from buildings and killing passersby below?

Samantha Tate’s heart was gripped with immense fear. Carson Flores couldn’t be crushed to death, could he?

She rushed to the side of the car, tears involuntarily streaming down her face, "Big brother, don’t die, hold on, I’m calling an ambulance right now..."
