Chapter 1250: Chapter 1250 Terrifying Assassination
Caught in a trap!
The moment the Jade Slip exploded, Carson Flores knew he had been tricked. His muscles tensed subconsciously as Spiritual Energy surged through him, and he quickly retreated backward.
A cold light stabbed rapidly toward Carson’s eyes, but he had hastily stepped back, causing the nearly direct strike to veer off by a mere centimeter.
It was this one centimeter of error that saved Carson from having the cold light pierce through his eyes and prevented the frenzied Spiritual Energy from entering his brain through his eye sockets, which would have completely destroyed his fragile brain.
Instead, the cold light hit Carson’s eyebrow bone and slashed diagonally downward, creating a huge gash across his face.
If not for every bone in Carson’s body being tempered into Sword Bone and having been repeatedly refined to an indestructible state, even if the strike hadn’t hit his eye, it could have penetrated his bones and shattered his brain.
What a terrifying move!
Seeing it missed Carson’s eyes, the cold light made a slight turn in mid-air and easily sliced open Carson’s neck, causing blood to spray out instantly.
Although Carson’s bones were indestructible, his muscles and blood vessels could not withstand the horror of this attack.
The cold light leaped again, aiming for Carson’s heart.
However, Carson had recovered from the dizziness. He instinctively contracted his spiritual power and fiercely compressed the True Soul of Heath Wells in his Sea of Consciousness.
Heath Wells did not respond.
The cold light continued its path toward Carson’s heart.
Something was wrong!
This wasn’t Heath Wells!
A chill ran through Carson’s heart, and he quickly blocked with his left hand.
The cold light struck Carson’s hand, splattering blood, but the blow was firmly blocked from penetrating further into his body.
With that violent thrust, Carson’s body was sent flying, trailing blood through the air.
As Carson was thrown backward, his mental power shifted to touch the points of light left by Delarosa and Cristopher Hopkins Immortal in his Sea of Consciousness.
The "Heath Wells" in front of him was very powerful, at least in the Later Stages of Hollow Void or even Great Perfection. Having suffered consecutive heavy blows, Carson could not mount an effective counterattack and could only hope that they would help.
After landing a successful strike, "Heath Wells" did not pause at all. He swiftly closed in on Carson’s flying body and with terrifying Spiritual Energy, the cold light fell again.
Just when the cold light was about to hit Carson, "Heath Wells" was suddenly hurled sideways, smashing a heavy solid wood table into pieces, then breaking through a wall and destroying a rockery in the courtyard.
"Heath Wells" spat out a mouthful of blood, but without any hesitation, he quickly flew away.
However, just as he took off, an immensely terrifying force pressed down on him.
"Snap!"
He collapsed onto the ground like a crushed frog, spitting out another mouthful of blood, his face filled with fear.
He couldn’t move at all!
An Immortal!
An Immortal had been hiding beside him all along!
It was over!
Back inside the house, Carson, catching his breath, stemmed the flowing blood and placed a Life Essence Pearl on his neck. The wound healed visibly fast, and soon, the half-severed neck was restored.
The huge gash across Carson’s brow also healed quickly, no longer looking like the horror it was moments before.
"Are you alright?"
The voice of Cristopher Hopkins Immortal resonated, though she didn’t show herself.
Carson shook his head, his gaze fixed on the subdued man in the courtyard, and said coldly, "He is not Heath Wells."
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal was silent for two seconds before responding, "Yes, he is just a common Great Demon, with the strength of Great Demon Great Perfection, not an Immortal Slave."
Carson smirked coldly, "To think he could transform into the likeness of Heath Wells. I almost annihilated Heath Wells just now..."
Carson had initially thought it was Heath Wells attacking him, so he subconsciously used their contract to restrain Heath Wells, but the assailant showed no reaction, confirming to Carson that this man was not Heath Wells.
Luckily, he had wanted to ask Heath Wells why he suddenly tried to assassinate him, so he hadn’t destroyed Heath Wells’ True Soul. Otherwise, Heath Wells would have died for nothing, a true wrongful death.
At this moment, the guards outside heard the noises and rushed in. Carson sent them away, then walked into the courtyard and approached the man.
"Who are you?"
The man spat out a mouthful of blood and replied crisply, "Blood Shadow Assassin, Fox-Wolf."
Carson’s eyes widened in shock and curiosity.
"You’re Fox-Wolf? The Fox-Wolf who leads the Assassin Organization’s Misrds State division?"
Fox-Wolf replied coldly, "Yes, you know my name because Joaquin Moses told you, right?"
Carson nodded, "Right, but she said Fox-Wolf was at the Divinity Transformation Stage, right?"
Fox-Wolf sneered, "That’s just what we tell the outside. Do you think someone at Divinity Transformation Stage could hold the position of a state division leader in the first Assassin Organization of the Barbarian Wilderness Realm?"
