Chapter 1249: Chapter 1249: Give You an Opportunity, Make It Count!
The emissaries from Winter Chill City, like arrows stretching outwards, rapidly spread throughout the Four States Region.
Wherever they went, the people of the world were all shocked.
The Barbaric Wilderness Realm was originally just one of the many Lower Realms under the Thunder Immortal Realm, which in turn was one of countless domains within the Immortal Realm!
The unremarkable Barbaric Wilderness Realm, because of the grudge between two women, had its Ascension Passage severed for ten thousand years, and now faced an either-or dilemma of life or death.
Behind the Demon Emperor was Maggie Fitzgerald, daughter of the Guard Commander, a high-ranking official of the Northern Mystic Sect.
Behind the Human Emperor was Cristopher Hopkins Immortal, the daughter of the Domain Master.
Cristopher Hopkins Immortal’s noble status was indubitable, but she was trapped here, after ascending to the Upper Realm only to be sealed off, unable to send out even a message. Now the entire Barbaric Wilderness Realm was ensnared in Maggie Fitzgerald’s net, hunting for Cristopher Hopkins.
The whole story was much like a princess in distress tale, and Carson Flores was the knight from among the common folk. It remained to be seen whether the knight could help the princess return to her palace and overthrow the nefarious villain.
All Sects swiftly sprang into action.
As some craved life and feared death, many more were filled with hot-blooded courage, unafraid of dying.
Besides, as Carson Flores said, to become an Immortal, first you must win, second you must contribute; otherwise, even if that bridge is repaired, if you’ve no contributions, you might not have the chance to cross that bridge!
Of course, this was Carson Flores’s method of spurring on and motivating those cultivators seeking to achieve the Great Perfection of Ascension into Immortality. In times when the survival of the Human Race was at stake, who could say he was wrong?
Moreover, he who has the bigger fist gets to set the rules.
A princess of the Domain has fallen on hard times; the opportunity to cling to the legs of an Immortal is presented to you. If you are not up to the task, what can be done about it?
There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world!
In the Four States Region, countless Sect powers moved out, one fleet of Flying Boats after another quickly starting up, converging from all directions like arrows, eternally extending towards the front, finally endlessly gathering!
...
"The Demon Race Army set out two days ago, and they are heading this way," said Carson Flores, lifting his head without much surprise.
"Have we received any news from Heath Wells?"
"Not yet. He’s probably still gathering more detailed information."
"Then let’s wait. Once we have the specifics, we’ll know how to make our move."
Carson Flores thought for a moment: "Order all the Flying Boats around to head to the towns in front and get all the people to the rear, at least until they’ve reached the assembly towns I’ve designated... Just the few of us might not hold off a frontal assault; I suspect there are Immortals in these troops."
Jorge Gross frowned, "You mean... a decoy?"
Carson Flores sighed, "Perhaps it’s a decoy, perhaps not. The problem is we have no choice. Either way, we have to confront them."
Carson Flores looked up at Jorge Gross: "Make sure someone keeps a close eye on the evacuation of the town residents at the front line. It must be executed rapidly—a moment’s delay could mean the entire town is wiped out. We can’t afford to drag our feet."
Jorge Gross nodded: "Recently, a good number of Cultivators have come to the city to help. I’ve organized them all. I’ve also called together everyone from the Vajra Gang. We may not be great on the battlefront but arranging tasks and ensuring they’re carried out is something we can do."
Carson Flores breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "It’s good to have you otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to manage all these tedious tasks."
Although Jorge Gross’s strength was only at the Mid-Stage of Hollow Void, he truly lived up to his nickname "Think Tank," adept at adjusting battle lines, coordinating resources, and overall planning. During this period, it was Jorge Gross who had been strategizing and coordinating arrangements.
The efforts of Jorge Gross might have no immediate impact on the outcome of the entire battle, but they saved numerous lives from one city to another, saving countless members of the Human Race.
Jorge Gross gave a wry smile: "With my strength, I can only handle logistics. On the front lines, I wouldn’t be able to contribute much."
Carson Flores praised: "Saving so many civilians, your contributions are enormous. The frontline may need warriors, but the rear needs support just as much."
After comforting him a few words, Jorge Gross turned and left, as he was the busiest recently.
Carson Flores had fewer tasks, merely staying back at the City Lord’s Mansion to make decisions.
What he was responsible for was fighting.
What he wanted most now was to break through his bottleneck to reach the Hollow Void Realm, but a bottleneck is a bottleneck for a reason. It was not something he could simply cross.
He was not with an Innate Taoist Body that could regard bottlenecks as nothing.
Currently, he had no clue whatsoever, and even though he was anxious, there was nothing he could do other than be anxious.
After pondering for several days, Carson Flores still had no insights.
This promotion was truly tough!
This barrier, always holding him back, was just too difficult.
Just as Carson Flores was lamenting, a guard relayed a message, "Mr. Heath Wells has returned."
"Let him in!"
Heath Wells quickly entered, "Master!"
Carson Flores stood up, asking with concern, "What’s the situation?"
Heath Wells hesitated, "The situation is a bit complex, but I have something that should make things clear once you’ve seen it..."
Carson Flores came out from behind his seat, "What is it?"
Heath Wells handed Carson Flores a Jade Slip, "Inject your spiritual power to activate it."
Carson Flores took the Jade Slip, and casually infused it with spiritual power.
However, the Jade Slip suddenly exploded, a terrifying blast hitting him head-on, causing an instant dizziness in Carson Flores’s mind.
At the same time, a cold glint appeared in Heath Wells’s right hand, aiming a strike directly at Carson Flores’s eyes.
